This reminds me of the world championship event. Queued up UW and only ran against the reclamation and mono-red decks. Needless to say I won all my matches. Then I played all the other decks outside of mono-red and won all my games.

Not gonna lie, red mage here and this is kinda accurate haha I miss GRN standard, mono red was like an old-school tempo deck (at least in mythic) with 8 bolts and lightning strike, shock, chainwhirler, etc. That deck required IQ. This deck, I haven’t quite figured out how to interact while piloting... not sure how to get past 55% on the mirror, or how to beat jeskai fires without a nut draw.

I think the craziest thing about this deck is that you can build your deck to counter it completely and it will *still* sweep wins out from under you. So game theory wise im pretty sure trying to beat it isnt even an optimal strategy. Im not quite sure whats keeping this deck from being everywhere since I cant think of a deck that consistently beats it, but maybe that deck is gruul or rakdos cleave? Anyway idk where mono white lifegain went but I kinda expected that to be the format staple mono-red killer and looks like its not doing its job rn

I won against it in the recent showcase Event with the Uro Deck and my own BW Control Deck. You just need boardwipes/removal and exile for the embercleave. My BW life gain/control Deck has ethereal absolution as bomb, that way most red creatures die before hitting the field. Embercleave is the real problem in most cases cause of its flash nature, you typically need to survive the turn it drops before you can deal with it. jmtc

I kinda hate playing against netdecks. I kinda like playing them too. When I see them, I roll my eyes, "oh wow, I haven't seen this deck before." But then I'm calling out their moves before they do them, and position myself in the best way against those moves. And usually that allows me to win in the end. So keep netdecking people, I'll just know how your deck runs when you have no idea wtf I'm doing. Also, it makes playing against other homebrews even better, they're more special since they're rare.
