Fun fact: the HG G-Self limited articulation actually perfectly represent the actual anime accuracy because the G-Self actually never shows much high range of articulation himself. Also, if you want to improve the articulation you can cut off a little bit part in the forearms and behind the knees because the HG G Self actually have a double jointed elbow and knees but hindered by the design of the suit.

@@drakozero8 you can cut the armor parts covering the upper thigh right around the hip joints so it won't cover the joint and let the thighs rotate freely. I personally only remove a little bit of the inside and back armor to allow around 45 degree outward rotation while retaining the thigh solidity. Yes I did cut them all to allow 360 degree rotation but it compromised the solidity of the thighs connection because the male peg from the upper thigh joint is not long enough.

A suggestion for a future review: I've heard that the MG Exia reprints are actually more stable than the original due to different plastic. And not many people are covering it since it isn't widely known. Not only would I like to see a review from you on the figure, but I'd like to know if that rumor is true.

I have found 1 video from Prine I searched for after seeing this comment, but can't find any confirmation or how to know if you are buying a new one vs the original 09 variant. I would love to finally give it a chance as I love the design, but currently chose to go with Amazing Exia over the other variants.

Hey mecha, there is a very simple mod that I learned with the g-self to make the arm bend a lot farther and it would probably work on the g-else too, all you have to do is shave a little plastic of the arm by the elbow and it does wonders

Technically the main reason that there's like no UC suits that have built in beam rifles (and sabers) is because, they usually actually do have a separate power system, due to legacy design jank, from early gundam engineering logic (limited reactor output). The Unicorn Gundam is the best example of this, with it's heavy Beam Magnum and those thick massive E caps, but most UC (and thus probably RE) suits do have their own generators. edit: the main exception would be the integrated launchers on guncannons, ZZ variants, and psychos. Also VSBR type systems (like on the F91) in late UC

I own HG G-Self and the part on the shoulder came off easily. Once I played with it and, without my realize, the parts fall off. Literally spend hours looking for that, it traumatize me to the point that I permanently glued that part now, funny that in this version there's seem no problem with that

Ah, yes. The G-Self. One of the many main suits waiting in line for the MG treatment. Changing topinc, anyone knows if beam sabers (or energy weapons in general) get power from the MS o if they have a battery? I'm guessing it varies from series to series. Just finished watching Gundam X and there was a scene where an MS got stabbed and the beam sabers stayed power on even after the attackers let go of them.

I love this design, hell swap the pink for neon green and it looks pretty close to my custom ms from Gundam Breaker 3. The whole aesthetic reminds me of Tron and I'm obsessed with the Tron aesthetic. Despite the limited poseabillity, I'll have to pick this one up. I'll just be sure to put it on a stand as it looks pretty great like that.

Please review the XN Double O Raiser. I’ve always been a fan of the series, but this kit is awesome. Think about it, the double O with EVERYTHING at it’s disposal. Plus, the O raiser with the XN unit attached flying next to the fully armed 7 sword double O is a pretty cool look.

If I remember correctly the things on the side of the knees were like batteries or some sort of power source for the robot. I remember them briefly changing them out and thinking it was a weird place to put a power pack

I would recommend the G-Self. It looks great, especially if you have some basic paint markers (red, black, and yellow are all you need... maybe white for the hands, too). Super nice build. Very few obnoxious / thick nubs. Almost all the nubs are super small and out of the way. Massive props to Bandai for the engineering of that mold.

I have the HG G-Self, and made plenty of mods to make it move better: Cut holes in the hips to give it the splits and some rotation cut a bit off the forearm to allow almost 135 deg bends nothing much, but it just gives the G-Self/Else a bit more articulation. If you're up to it, you can saw the thigh armour into 2 pieces like how the Robot Damashii legs work, and this gives it almost free movement like other modern HGs

As cool as forearm mounted beam sabers are, the standard handheld ones have the advantage of being used as thrown weapons. Unicorn probably has the best setup with 4 sabers and 2 being usable as tonfas.

It seems like you can make a black G-Self, unfortunately without equipment. Those blades on the arm were originally part of the flight pack, but you can't build that with the leftover pieces, you would need the missing parts of runners C and E, as well as runner A2. But you need to build the Perfect Pack version of the G-Self sometime, and while doing that you also need to get a UV light, to enjoy that kit in full glory! With the foil pink stickers, the G-Else got a downgrade.
