Just rebuilt my carburetor and fuel pump on my 92 twenty eight horsepower. Used OMC kits twenty something dollars each. Haven’t used yet but should be good I’ve done other engines before 👍

Hey I was wondering if I could get your knowledge on a few things with my boat. I have an old 15’ fiberglass boat that weighs a good bit, it’s got a 1983 Johnson 25hp and I watched your videos a few years back to get it running. The boat gets to about 15mph ish I haven’t done a exact speed test but I want to get it faster. I was wondering what prop would be best for top speed and if it’s possible to carb swap the motor to get more power. I love the content, keep up the good work

Hey. Thanks for tuning in. 83 is a good year. When I had mine I put a 35 horse carb on it, didn't change anything else and gained a super solid 5 mph. It was a match made in heaven! I don't remember what the prop size was, you'll have to play with that, just remember that bigger isn't always better. Here's all the info you'll need. I have a 14.5' smoker craft with floor and cabinets(heavy little boat) with a 1999 J-25hp. I added a 1 and 1/2" block (cut on a table saw) to the top of the transom and gained 2 mph, also adding a bow mount trolling motor w/battery got completely rid of the porpoising. Hey, just curious, do you (or anyone reading this) happen to know the difference (in thousandths) between the HS jet orafice of j-25 vs. j-30 ? Thanks.

Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Yeah raise the motor the faster you go, like racing outboards, less motor in the water, less drag. Usually the 25 is a 59d and the 30 is a 67d size. Thanks again & Stay tuned !

Got them all going and your videos helped appreciate it 👍 I found a 25 HP Evinrude Sportster in good condition. They are pretty rare in Australia. I fitted a starter motor to it. Let the good times roll brother 👍

I seem before the plastic top carb leak air inside and lean out coffin an sneeze don't lean it out .

I wish I could find a good 35 or 40 horse 2 stroke remote for a decent price that wasn't worn out. They are a lot harder to find than they used to be.

I bought a 14p for this motor, better hole shot but slower top end then the 13p. The 13p hole shot is good and gets to top end much quicker then the 14p.

I have a Johnson 25 stock motor clean motor is a 1990 now a friend of mine was a junk scap man he call me an said do I want this motor I said bring it by I look at it yah I started to part it out motor was a 20 envrude I seen it had a bigger carb throat now both reed covers had the big hole now both reed plates were different my stock reeds plate had bigger holes i kept it on my motor look like peramid holes not like a 3leaf clover leaf holes that we're smaller was parts motor junk rusty ok so I put the carb an ran it fine tune the mex screw ran first time it was over reving out of the hole it had stock 13 pitch so I went to my friends boat shop he gave me 15 pitch it runs like a bat out of hell top speed every time 48 mph now the bigger carb had pull choke on the side the mix screw was a linkage type I did some looking up on the web it said that the carb all so fits a 1973 65 HP an it's the middle carb 🕵️ on the carb has part numbers.318 505 - D5 👍 now that parts motor work out it had points not cdi like mine. Now she runs like a champ no coffin no sneezing 🙋 the parts motor old school back then 19 73 20hp it look like a pusher for a heavy small boat go slow up a fast river . 😂 Look a e bay carbs 30 HP same dam thing except that rod in the emulsin tube now is restricted gas flow parts carb doesn't have it . The parts motor was stock also don't forget mid carb doesn't have that rod in it just the bottom pipe half way up tipe that part number in e bay hit me back. We went fishing in her today at the skyway bar g trout coming in it's that time I'm back quiet 🙋
