One of the very few SUV that is actually capable of being sport and utility at the same time !

It was car of the year by many magazines not just EVO. Top Gear has called it "best car in the world". They landed a helicopter on it.

As an owner, I would like to mention that this manual gear box is pretty amazing. It shifts very well. I have often got compliments on the gear box and the way this car pulls away (mainly due to 4x4 power). You can enjoy driving this car, feels sporty.

The Skoda Sasquach, er, I mean Yeti, will be my next car, after my allroad. It's simply a very clever product from Skoda.

In my 74 years I have driven a load of cars as an owner. My favourite used to be the old Citroen CX (not the DS which I also owned) but now the greatest is my Yeti 2 L. Turbo Diesel automatic. Its acceleration is phenomenal for a road car and I stop at 100mph so I don't know how much faster it can go. We live in Israel where I have taken it off road on desert trails and across muddy farm tracks both in off-road drive in total satisfaction. On highway driving I approach 45 mpg and I don't care a hoot about the emissions bruhaha. Only comment is for really tough OTR driving it needs the right tires instead of the somewhat inappropriate skinny profile tires and a higher ground clearance. I have tried to check this out but cannot find info on the Skoda web-sites.

Had a couple of rides in it, took it for a short spin myself (4x4 140bph version), it's a lot better then what anyone would expect. Would be my pick of the bunch in it's class (Mitsu ASX & Nissan Qashqai)

8.4 seconds is pretty good. How fast does a car like that have to be?

I have a 4x4 2.0 TDI - very capable SUV, very fast and handles very well....

@adcuz if you make a car have more power, but its only doing 25mph its using a lower percentage of the engines output, therefore working less, therefore fuel economy is better. i get your point though

Nice one.

Range Rover Evoque goes 0-60 in 7.8 secs. So Yeti with 1/4 the price doing 8 secs 0-60 is awesome.

I have 2.0 4x4 diesel 110 bhp Yeti, and it's perfect everyday car!

I have been looking to drive one for a while. Let's give it some priority now, shall we.

Amazing!!! 15-20 years 8.4 seconds to 60 was considered good for a Golf GTi/Astra GSi etc,etc... How spoiled we all are today!

Greatest car in the world as Jeremy Clarkson once said.

like anyone would even consider buying a diesel Yeti for the way it handles in the corners. Or a Caterham for how much luggage you can carry when going in vacation.

What the hell EVO? A Skoda Yeti after a 918 Spyder? :D

Remap it to Stage1 and it'd be even better.

Catchpole should grow his beard, don a pair of kangaroo leather driving gloves, pop a cheroot in his mush and he could be the modern day Leonard Setright.

well 8,4 sec to 60 is good for a family car.. Why would you want to go any faster
@lomate19639 жыл бұрын
It's compulsory to have a beard if you buy one that's why Henry was allowed to road test it ☺️
@lapamful9 жыл бұрын
Beards actually come as standard across the Yeti range. Although I have to say I preferred the 2.0 litre turbo beard.

Electric steering is worse than hydraulic which was worse than mechanical. My first car,a Lada,was crap in most ways but you didn't have to think where to put the car in a corner,you just put it where you wanted. My Megane that followed had worse steering,a bit of guessing was involved,acceptable. My 1.8 TSI Skoda is just for riding around and enjoying the engine. Modern cars are miles ahead in most areas but in terms of steering the situation has progressively deteriorated. Big shame.

and what do you drive? a Bugatti Veyron?
@thebossisheretostay12 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, possibly Porsche 911....is that you trying to throw away the concept that people think you are heavily biased towards the 911? I'm talking to you Nick Trott haha.

Why does a car driven by people that don't ever go over 25mph need to have 168bhp?
@animeonperseest12 жыл бұрын
Lol ladas have no steering feedback what so ever even.

Boooooooooooring, not HC, but the car... EVO credential - im sorry what???

Too bad the styling is hideous. I wouldn't want to trade my 2002 RAV4 for this car, despite the Skoda probably being better on many points.
