1:40 Cntl + left click (open link in new tab in background) Cntl+shift + left click (open link in new tab and go there) Shift + left click (open link in new window) This functionality is available on any 5 buttons (or more) programable mouse able to assign shift and ctrl keys to buttons. The most common is to use the keyboard for the keys. The vertical mouse is a dumb idea for those who like to move the mouse by the thumb and pinky. For better ergonomy, it would be preferable to have a pad at 45 degrees, but gravity makes it hard. A new movement sensor technology is needed. Maybe something that measures movement indirectly by pressure.

I picked up a Vertimouse 4, small, second hand. I unplugged the silly LEDs for the Evoluent logo, and used ducttape to reduce the size of the LEDs for the DPI setting indicators. There's 2 screws under the sticker, and two under the front teflon pad. I also had to dismantle the rear shell to clean it as companies still insist on using that silly rubber touch coating that turns into a sticky mess. Works fine for regular use, plus if you download their driver app, you get lots of cool options such as a screen dimmer - great for desktop monitors where you want dimming but don't want to have to fiddle through your monitor's settings menu

I find the Anker mouse to be really slippery when I pick it up to readjust the mouse position on my tiny desk. And I've heard other people say the Evoluent's very slippery too.
@MarinusMakesStuff2 жыл бұрын
I got the Evoluent D, the newer than the 4 model. It's absolutely awesome. The only thing I think they could've added was yet another button for the pinky. This mouse is so comfortable that I think adding a pinky button will even work great.
@zkazowvii57512 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for bringing this up after 6 months, but how has the mouse been so far? I´m looking into getting the Evoluent D mouse, but some reviews complain that the click stops working afer a copule of months, also of some jerky or unresponsive movement, and bad wireless connection. Have you experienced any of those issues? would you recommend the mouse?

You don't get annoyed by the DPI switch under your middle finger?
@MarinusMakesStuff2 жыл бұрын
@@marekogarek6329 Good question, somehow my finger doesn't even really touch it when I use the mouse. I still have arm and wrist problems, but I don't think I could do without this mouse. Having the extra middle-mouse button to click is such a valuable addition.
@Young_Star Жыл бұрын
Big reason I always go for this mouse is the middle mouse button. I always map it to the same as a wheel click. That way I don't have to worry about scrolling the wheel when trying to press down.

You should review the Contour Unimouse. It's really up there too.
@giant-woman2 жыл бұрын
If you need a vertical mouse, get a contour unimouse. It has an actually good optical gaming sensor, and it relieved 98% of my hand pain. I did buy an evoluent 4 and the sensor was shockingly bad.

I came for this comment. I’m used to Razer mice running at 4000 dpi (I think I’m going to step it up actually). Good to know I need to look elsewhere for a better sensor!

@@DanUtley I went from a Razer Viper 8KHz to a cheap vertical mouse, and the low DPI drives me insane. Moving the mouse cursor across my screen makes me look like I'm trying to hail a taxi.
@squirts1 Жыл бұрын
@@DanUtley bahaha you actually use 4000dpi or higher? I can't imagine using higher than 1000-1200. You lose all precision at such high speed. You probably still have mouse acceleration on too.
@squirts1 Жыл бұрын
@@censored7881 8khz is polling rate, not DPI. Very different things.
@DanUtley Жыл бұрын
@@squirts1 I 100% use 4000 dpi, because that's what my logitech mouse is maxed out at. I played computer games for a lot of years, and a ton of actually good performers use high DPI settings on their gaming mice. This is extremely common. I currently run two 24" monitors side by side for work. To get from one corner to the other I don't want to have to drag my mouse across the desk. And as someone who has wrist damage, I want to move my mouse as little as possible. No I do not have mouse acceleration on, I want predictable performance.

The way you state this, makes me think you do not know about the functionality. If you click the wheel, it works like this third button. Now, I hate clicking the wheel, so there is a point to this button. However, the functionality already exists for any mouse with a clickable wheel.

@sebastian quintero collazos you may have some discomfort at first because you're using different muscle groups but you get used to it in a week or so. I also found myself moving my grip around depending on what I am doing. Sometimes having my thumb griping outside the thumb area so it has a wider grip.

How do you copy and paste on this mouse? I use a system called Linx and for some reason it won’t copy or paste to it.
@AKSaleh.Official4 жыл бұрын
In order to click, your hand should apply extra force through your thump to counteract the sideway click force and to keep the mouse in place. Probably will end up with mouse pain caused by squeezing the mouse instead of pushing it down against the desk surface.
@ergonomictrends84464 жыл бұрын
That's a valid point, though it's the lesser of two evils if you have wrist pain. Also the buttons on the evoluent are quite low force.

the wired version always has the light on. the wireless version keeps it off, until the mouse goes into power savings mode, then it will flash when you press a button to activate it and also when the battery is low. I wish there was a setting in the software to turn the logo light on or off for the wireless version.
