There are actually multiple ways to die in Sticker Star, such as quicksand (in and out of battle) and poison.

there also an out of bounds section in a level called Desert Oasis (i forgot what it was called) where you have to use the vacuum sticker to clear out the sand storm, you had to jump in a specific area in you'll clip out of bounds and if you go too far then its instant death, I think that should count as another way of dying
