Thanks for the video, I know it is an older video, but I have the Rangeman GW-9400-1 and love it. At the moment it is my daily driver. The others look good too.

Great video. You are a great communicator. The evolution instead of the Mudmaster had to be the GPR B1000. That's apples to apple. The Mudmaster is something else.
@PerthWAtch Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I reckon the GPR B1000 is just ridiculous in so many ways... the way it eats batteries for snacks, and that SIZE! But I suppose it is very much part of the "evolution" haha!!

I like the looks and analog hands of the Mudmaster. It would be much easier to tell the time at a glance especially with my blurry older eyes. However, I chose the Rangeman because I think the fully digital interface will let me straightaway read the various info and fully use all the features compared to the ana-digi style of the Mudmaster. With LED light, if I squint, I can still read the info without my glasses 😊

Hard to argue against what you’ve said here but definitely can’t beat analog hands for quick time telling!

I didn’t modify it… maybe it’s just the white balance on my camera that makes it look different?

I get the G-7900-1 in Black and in Red, just love them both 🥰 This is the quintessential Casio watch. It had appeared in movies 13 Hours and End of Watch.

Great videos on watches from your channel, I enjoy them very much, thanks. I have the gwg 1000 and the riseman. I found the gwg 1000 is quite big for my wrist but still bought it because it looks so cool as you said from your other video :) I wear the riseman everyday for work and also my early morning run, but it doesn't have a direct stop watch like the rangeman, and I found it annoyed that I have to go through the Mode button. Also it's quite hard to read the time while its stop watch is running. Do you think the rangeman is bigger in digital display than the riseman? I have seen the rangeman at the jewelry stores but I find it silly to ask them to let me have a look and compare to my riseman :) and then don't buy it. As you know they are always in full price while a lot of online stores are selling them around $300. Thank you. Bye the way, I am also another Asian Sandgroper here :)

Hey thanks for that, always great to hear from a local watch enthusiast! Well, personally I wouldn't hesitate walking into Angus & Coote and asking to try the watch on... they are all staffed by employed salespeople, some of whom look like they don't want to be there, so they really won't care I reckon. Honestly, I don't think the Rangeman would be any different in terms of readability to the Riseman, the digits look identical in size, or perhaps only marginally bigger. Cheers, Ivan.

I am new into watches and even newer into G-shocks. But this summer I have got 4 of them. One is Rangeman 9400. It's a very cool watch with several useful features. I really like it. The only true drawback is the unnecessary flat backside, it's almost 6cm between where the strap starts to go down on each side. This hardly is necessary even for 20+cm wrist size. I have 17cm and it works good when I tighten the strap, though. This because the watch is so lightweight despite the size. But if you have less than 17cm wrist it may be too big, I think. I see the Mudman in the video is designed better, similar to the G-squad GDB-H1000-8ER, which is one of the other G-shocks in my collection.

Thanks for sharing that - I appreciate you taking the time to put those thoughts down. Do check out my full review of the Rangeman if you haven’t seen it already. Also, please note that the watch here is the Mudmaster - the Mudman is actually quite a different model.

Unfortunately of all the Mudmaster straps the DC colour seems most expensive... Try Rakuten global, or failing that you're probably left with eBay. All the best!

Love my G-Shocks. So many features at great prices. Only downside is the alarms are not loud enough. A $30 Timex is 11 decibels louder. A one time missed appointment can cost big time.
@PerthWAtch7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback - you're absolutely right about the alarm volume... I guess it didn't strike me as I have never relied on it as a sleep alarm. If you've left your phone behind and need a reminder during the day, I do find the alarm works fine for that purpose. But yes, waking me from sleep would be different matter!
