I’m assuming jsw is the engine code and I’m going to say probably not because the wiring harness is going to be different on a mk 5

Ilikeautosdaily jsw means Jetta sport wagon, but no it wouldn’t work because it’s too new of a motor for the mod to work. This only works on the ALH (00-03) and the BEW (04-05)

Does the resistor go on pin 2 or pin 3 wire?

@@ilikeautosdaily I'm running my thro a toggle switch so I can turn on and off, put the resistor on pin 2 wire b4 toggle now it works. Makes a tad bit difference. What's the best size resistor to use?

Tyler Baker I personally used a 1k potentiometer so I can adjust the resistance as needed. I have heard that anywhere from 700-900k works good but I’m not sure on that.

Likely a different engine code you have. I can only confirm this mod on a mk4 Jetta with an alh.

Visionary Photo it’s the starter motor. A very common thing for the mk 4. I’m not too sure what causes it but mine has done it since I bought it. Still going strong.
