Great episode as always, just wanted to chime in on the Samsung reach-ability feature of pulling down the content has been immensely helpful for me in one handing their bigger devices. I genuinely miss it on other big phones now and you can just scroll up to fill the screen with content, I don't get how David of all people finds more accessibility annoying lol.

Kia EV6 and Hunday Ioniq 5 have an Adapter for this reverse charging. In addition there is also a normal "walloutlet" below the rear seats when the Ioniq is specced out in Top Line

Yes the Kia and Hyundai have Vehicle to Load adapters as an option that can handle 15A 120V loads, as well as another outlet between the rear seats that can handle 16A 120V. Both can be used simultaneously at up to 3600W. That's enough to run most household appliances such as griddles and coffee makers, as well as other appliances like heaters, circular saws, compressors, etc. They can also act as a Level 1 AC charger for another EV if they're caught out somewhere inconvenient. I'd love to see your team's take on the two vehicles. I've got my pre-order in for an EV6, but it won't be delivered until winter 22/23 :/

Another youtube channel from the UK shows how they used an Ioniq 5 during an 11hr power outage to run their fridge, microwave, espresso machine, modem/router, laptops, and some lights via an extension cord and power strip. The car's battery went down from 73% SoC to 62% in that time. They also mentioned that since the V2L feature uses the 800V charging circuit in reverse, it's possible that they could upgrade it to support Tesla Powerwall-like features that would enable you to tie the car into your home at 240V and higher amperages via a different V2L adapter.

The Kia ev6 not only has a vehicle to load adaptor for its external charging port, it also has a charging outlet in the rear below the rear seat, at least the UK GT line trim and above does (240v output in UK), not sure if the lowest trim had this.

I noticed the very many EV ads everywhere and I understand the future purpose of saving the air. But what happens to the family farmer? We don't make enough profit in a year to afford even PAYMENTS towards buying an EV truck (since we only get ONE payment for the year if we lease the land, or grow crops and harvest only 3 times at elevation) Consider that just buying a TRACTOR is about, 100k, a Harvester and Baler also very high, and then how can you afford to POWER them? And you're way out in the country? We are stressing. As for the iPhone, over the years I tried it and it doesn't work for a rural person, as we dont' have high speed internet, as I can only get satellite service. You are only allowed so much use each month and it's SLOOWW. The iPhone needs to update almost every day. Sometimes I don't get to town for a month, or at least have the time to drop it off at my cell phone store to leave it there to update while I am shopping. My Samsung S9 is great. it has updates but is less inconvenient. And I really need it to call, text or take pictures. I don't feel the need to go up to a 22 (for what?)

I was specifically intrigued by the EV truck commercial where they went out of their way to show the completely hands off driving while tapping out the beat of the music. Comparing that with the backlash of “oh my God we are all gonna die of people take their hands off the wheel” that happens whenever Tesla autopilot is discussed was an interesting contrast.

People act like Apple is intentionally blocking Android out. They aren’t. Apple has shown that they’re open to interop with non-Apple ecosystems. The real thing is that Apple does not do things unless the user experience is very good. And the fact is that Android hasn’t even figured out RCS. Unless you’re using the latest devices and Google Messages, Android users can’t interop between carriers and other devices because they’re not using RCS-UP or the latest version of RCS-UP. Apple will adopt a new standard once it has been perfected in the industry.

What is really funny about this iMessage situation is if there are 2 iPhones and 1 Android, when an iPhone reacts to a message, the other iPhone will still get the annoying text, but the Android will get the intercepted reaction. At least I am pretty sure that is how it will work, haven’t tried it.

It's funny because they did exactly what David was talking about. In beta, if you're signed into your Google account, and send a video, it'll upload to Google photos and send a video player from Google photos for them too watch it in high quality.

Turns out Samsung has been downright misleading customers with a lot of things they've been saying recently. First the screen refresh rate wasn't down to 10 fps on the s22 (even remotely at all). And they knew it, they make the panel. But also it turns out that the 45 watt charger doesn't charge at 45 Watts at all. If you use Samsung's own charger, charge times or the exact same on the the 22 plus with a 45 w charger and 25w , and a couple minutes slower even on the ultra. Even third party 65 watt PD Chargers only charge it within margin of error of 25 w. It's clear they didn't put any of the battery tech for 45 Watts in there (the phone doesn't draw it), let alone the 65 Watts that it's competitors have on the mid-range. They did this with the previous notes as well, and realized most people didn't know / let it slide. It appears that since these things are allowed to slide Samsung is becoming a lot more brazen with it. LIKE YOU ALREADY DON'T INCLUDE A CHARGER IN THE BOX, THERE IS NO NEED TO LIE ABOUT IT'S CHARGING ABILITIES. If you advertise 45 watt charging it should be capable of that, and consumers should be able to get recourse for false marketing. Or at the very least have it mentioned on reviews

the funny thing is that reactions dont work in iphone mms group chats (if you send them they look fine, but if other iphone peeps do a reaction, you just get the text back, no reaction), so it sounds like they’ll start working on Android but continue sending the words on iphones. I wonder if this will prompt apple to do the same OR slightly change the text to mess up Google’s implementation.

As an old women, it always amazing to me how dudes and bros always chant about tech, which is amazing (most earth stuff technology is assisted living tech even the precious AI by the way it’s put in a computer so like computer colony?!) but like guys never talk about fundamental things about life stuff, it’s really like caring and not in a assistance way and not the gooey live stuff but what are the basic components of measuring your conversation with different types of people. @@vp5429 The Prius prime gets 50mpg w/o charge and 130mpge with charge. The whole point of the plug in hybrid is to use both for maximum efficiency. If you are driving full electric mode in a plug in hybrid you're an idiot. Running plug in hybrids MPGe is far better than anything EVs promise. Full electric is impractical for many reasons, range is only one of many issues.

70% of electricity in the USA is still provided by fossil fuels. The majority of charging stations use the local grid power. EVs pollute before the wheels even turn unfortunately as to charge them coal is burned.
