Middlesbrough where I am from had a large immigrant influx with the industrial revolution from places like Ireland that came for all the hard work. The mix of cultures, hard work and heavy drinking created a bad culture of roughness and once the work slowed down it became worse. Middlesbrough is more a mess now with Asian immigrants that also don’t have any work, the government send immigrants there because there’s plenty of cheap housing. Outside Middlesbrough the countryside is absolutely gorgeous.

I did time 3 times with Lee in 85 86 and 87 and he was a force of nature. We were the same age and when we both first went to the big house in 86 we were just turned 21 and he was the top lad in Durham jail and there was some rough lads in there from all parts of the north east and beyond

Visited Newcastle a few times on holiday in the 70's as we had relatives, always thought they were really good people, even in deprived areas you'll still find extremely good people. Was watching some Ex Cop do a talk on TV a good few months ago and he was saying he felt the police force in his opinion changed massively when all the Police started taking the knee.

What a cop out! Pardon the pun but is was an ideal time to question the author and investigating officer on what really happened on that fateful night. Mrs Duffy on leaving court claimed her son was “ stabbed 7 times in the back”. Ray Morton claimed that Duffy apart from a few light scratches and a single stab wound under his left armpit more or less looked immaculate as he lay on the slab with just a towel over his private parts. When briefly asked during the interview Morton had to be prompted by Boyle about a SINGLE stab wound in duffy’s back. It was as if they didn’t want to contradict Boyles version of events and the books he’s written on the matter, as in an earlier interview Morton said Allison stabbed Duffy as he ran towards him, but Boyle said in his book The Whole Of The Moon there was two fights and Allison hit Duffy on the Temple with a knuckle duster. Morton said Duffy chased Allison after he’d been stabbed and Boyle said it was Duffy running away to escape his assailant. Boyle also said Duffy was stabbed in his thigh again not mentioned by Morton. The truth need thrashing out between these two so called experts in this intriguing case.
