@@gmimi2 During the investigation, it was reported that she had been out drinking and she was upset because of an argument with her married cop boyfriend. Does this prove that she was drunk? No, but it does help to explain why she was on the wrong floor and why she didn't call for backup before entering the apartment. I think she was jackedup and spoiling for a fight. The door was slightly ajar and she heard an "intruder" before she even went in with her weapon drawn. If she was thinking calmly and rationally, the proper reaction would have been to call for backup and wait in the hallway until help arrived. But, hey, maybe that's just me.

I worked in the med. sector for decades, saw many people working such long hours they were functioning on auto pilot (mental fatigue), ie repeating the same function without applying thought and sometimes making mistakes because they were applying a repeated treatment but to the wrong person. I've seen heated and escalating arguments in car parks where a driver has sworn on their life that another person was in their car.. theirs was a similar car but parked two/three rows away, they'd just clicked their sensor, their car beeped and instead of looking for the flashing light on their vehicle, they saw the car that was most like theirs and reacted adversely when they thought someone was stealing it. Then there's the phenomena where some parents with young children will suddenly alter their routine, ie dad for eg asked to drop their child off to nursery/kindergarten, strapping them into the kiddy seat, something happening such as a text to draw their sleepy attention back to work and off to work they head, entirely forgetting their child is strapped in the back of the car. It happens more often than people realise.

Oh yes.. another innocent man.. sees a uniformed officer.. and doesn't follow orders. I am so sick and tired of this. I know you don't like it, but they have authority over you and it doesn't matter what your color is.

People who abuse kids are out in less time. It's sad that this peach women is called a racist white woman.... It's an absolute bad situation but it's nothing to do with race. I hope she gets out.

I can’t imagine that I would ever own or touch a gun again. 5 years is very short but wouldn’t it be better for her to be outside prison doing something to support society than sitting inside doing nothing?

I don’t think she will offend again either. It WAS a tragedy. She went into cop mode when she was describing what happened. I think she HAS served her time in prison, but she will continue to suffer even if she gets out now. She lost the job she loved, she was remorseful…I watched that trial.

Trial I watched saw an incompetent dei hire who was doing other cops. She claimed she was scared? This is supposedly a trained cop, trained to handle these exact situations. I'm not buying her tears, they were only for herself, acting so the jury won't find her guilty. That man did not deserve to die alone on his floor. She didn't even try to help the man, which she should have been trained to do.

"Went into cop mode". Walks into the wrong apartment on the wrong floor. Doesn't notice the different apartment number, notices there is a different floor mat but goes in anyways? Cop mode, after she shoots she doesn't bother trying to help, guess that is cop mode. Nothing about her or her actions say cop mode enabled. And then he cop buddies who she was doing were seriously on the stand trying to justify what she did as being reasonable.
