If she wanted to blow off steam then she should have called him and explained what she wanted, not go to the brother. It was inevitable that she would have an episode because of the guilt because deep down she knew everything that happened was her own fault. But sadly it wouldn't have changed anything for her. Yeah, everyone got hurt. I think secretly he dodged a future bullet from the friends though. They would have tried to control her as part of the group against the husband in another matter, or gotten her to cheat or cover up cheating of her friends, or caused problems out of jealousy, or even talked bad about him because they disagreed with some opinion he had when it's not their marriage. Those kinds of friends cause marital issues.

The witch who cheated with the brother obviously deserves all the pain x20 that she can get for ruining that family. That being said-that was just such a weird flex he pulled there. Really childish. I’m usually all for petty as hell when someone does something this terrible, but this plan was just…weird. Like a middle school kid came up with it. A grown man should have just called a lawyer and had a cease and desist letter sent, saying to stop contacting OP or else the law would be involved. That would have made his point clear and she never would have tried again. Direct, effective. Far less childish and messy.
@andrewbrock46367 ай бұрын
Definitely. He created strings of attachment by the whole charade, and then dragged others into the drama. A bit unnecessary. If he just remained non contact with her as he has done for over 10 years, she probably would not have spun out of control. Vindictive behavior is not becoming no matter how justified

@zeomatrix37 ай бұрын
Searching the comments for this one took way longer than I thought it would. It's amazing the venom people carry for 12 years could be this potent that it would cloud their judgement to be the bigger person and just continue to block the ex from their live. He actively chose to engage in her message, had he ignored her she would have likely given up, but he indulged her and quite possible set off her clear mental delusions because of his actions. Just manic. To be so needlessly cruel for something that occurred so long ago. Two wrong don't make a right and if you're still this torn up over the actions of someone 12 years ago you should be seeking therapy. That kind of repression is absurd.
@GuilFernandes7 ай бұрын
@zeomatrix3 revenge is always harmful for everyone. Been reading some betrayal stories on Reddit, but also sucessful reconciliation stories too, and it shows how, besides all the pain they caused, Wayward Partners are still human. The world is so crazy these days that almost anything can become an excuse to dehumanize someone.

If she actually loved OP, she wouldn't have cheated on him especially with his own brother, if she truly loved him, she'd let him go and be happy and accept that he's gone, has a new life and wants nothing to do with her.

This guy should not have gone for revenge. He let his ex back into his life by doing that. The revenge low-key backfired because it caused an uproar in his life just before his wedding which is exactly what his ex wanted when she contacted him. He should have ignored her completely and went on to marry his new fiancée and not give his ex another thought.
@ranaoblivious21227 ай бұрын
Whether the revenge is justifiable or not, I think all of us can agree that revenge has consequences. For OP, it created a bad impression for the bridesmaids and made the ex become mentally unstable. Thankfully, OP handled everything cleanly and the wife has her priority straight. I expected her to side with her friend but fortunately she didn't. The redditors were also great for advising him to refer to his wife in dire situation.

have you ever just once considered that not everything is as black and white as you think it is? ever considered that people dont want anything to do with someone who displays such psychotic behaviour? and no, im talking about the guy here. Its fair to say the cheating ex got what she deserved a long time ago and nobody really AT ALL is enabling a cheater in this story. What he did in retaliation was a different level of bad. its vindictive at the least. He needs mental help as much as she does. and his girlfriend should be ashamed of agreeing to being a part in all of this.
@plsguidemethroughtheabyssmona7 ай бұрын
@@gravity00x black and white? Then how do you explain the ex' actions before the wedding? Also, she wasnt showing any psychotic behaviour UNTIL after what op did in retaliation/revenge, so there was no way to know ex was out of it in the first place. And if i was one of the bridesmaids and friends, i would ask more important questions like how is my friend's wellbeing and what tf is that hoe up to now and causing ruckus and unnecessary drama for my friend? Any sane person would question why ex isnt staying in their lane and that was ex is here until it all revealed she has screw loose all along, NOT focus on what they did at the hotel, IF that would force the ex to get back on her lane and not be a thorn to my friends wedding. What a friend who is sooo hung up on petty revenge; doesnt that say something about their stance and character? To throw away years of friendships for op's actions, which isnt baseless, and the hoe who MIGHT have potentially caused my friend's unwarranted thorn on her wedding day and danger when ex showed to be psychotic How would they know op's pain to say the high road of ignoring would be good to him? Who are they or you or us to say that? What a friend
