Asking your fiance for permission to cheat because you're insecure about difference between the number of partners you've had is top tier bullshit.
@fredericksaxton97826 ай бұрын
Just to clarify, whe she was doing is cheating, but *CONSENSUAL* open relationships are factually not cheating. You can't "ask for permission" to cheat. If it's allowed, it's not cheating. Cheating is, by definition, "Without one's knowledge".
@redcell96366 ай бұрын
Hold on now; Body Count *Does Matter* between both partners. It does infact diminish your ability to pair-bond. More so in women than men. That being sad, it is not a direct indicator of the propensity for infidelity. However her concerns about the inability to satisfy in the bedroom are the same as if she was the one with the high body count. That being said, wanting to open the relationship for the soul reason you _think_ they will cheat is a whole different story.

@@MrMonnTMThey’re clarifying that a consensual open relationship is not cheating referring to how the comment said “permission to cheat”. They know when she did it anyways it was cheating because she didn’t have permission. An open relationship is not cheating. What she did was. That’s what they were saying. They weren’t saying she didn’t cheat
@MrMonnTM6 ай бұрын
@@SillyRamen I kinda of understood that but needed to clarify this. I am a fiery advocate against infidelity in almost any kind. (The only time i approve of it is when a person is forced physically and through influence by someone more powerful than them to marry them or be with them and in order to escape this nightmare they cheat but that's 1% at best maybe even 0.5% or less). I'm a guy and I would no resort to cheating or any of the bs about open relationship or that mens infidelity is only physical while womans is also emotional. I don't give a crap, both are to be held to the same scrutiny. FYI i wasn't cheated on (to my knowledge) but had plenty of experience seeing it all around me. The devastation of cheating is something incomprehensible, If someone thinks they are only influencing their partner they are dead wrong and innocent bystanders who are close to cheaters are also taken in as casualties. The saddest part that in many places despite infidelity cheaters can roam without any sanctions imposed on them which wasn't the case 1 century ago.

I'm of the mind that, if your SO asks for an open relationship...you can be damn sure that they've already cheated on you or are currently cheating on you. No one asks that "out of nowhere", they only do so because they feel a bit guilty for being POSs and cheating on their own SOs, so they try to assuage part of that guilt by trying to influence their SOs into an open marriage so what they're doing now/did "won't be considered cheating".

@fruxo42187 ай бұрын
@@knightsolaire8192 No it was not about the experience whatsoever, that's for anyone to see. If you love your partner, you don't have to feel the need or desire to fuck other people just to make yourself feel better. It's all about ego and wanting to make sure she feels hot and desirable because she sees that her boyfriend was very desired when they weren't together and girls flocked to him. It's all about ego for both of them in all honesty and either way I personally believe that relationship was doomed from the very start.
@drjonesey57 ай бұрын
Yup, people use that excuse of gaining experience to just screw other people. They aren't man or woman enough to just say they lust for others which should be classified as a problem within themselves that needs fixing. Those people want to "try out" other human beings in bed because they want to, it has nothing to do with gaining experience. Sometimes specifically they want a certain person and just lying. I had 4 gfs I slept with before I met my wife, me and my wife has had way more bedroom time than the 4 gfs combined and it's much more fun and I gained more experience just with her. And it's not like I only did stuff 1 time per woman or something it was multiple. Things are just better when it's 1 person, long term. The insecure thing I feel really comes from society first and then the person you're with second. For example, many men fear revealing their size because society has preconceived ideas about that subjects which are false in my experience and many others. So they are insecure due to lingering pressure of societal ideas and then they have to worry about IF the woman thinks those thoughts too. There's some pressure on women too to know what to do, but it's not like men. That's why it's best both people are new to the experience or people just stop being foolish and adopting dumb ideals and be nice to your partner. Guide them, try stuff. This subject is not as complex as people make it out to be.
@Attritionist7 ай бұрын

I had a best friend like that. Our families were best friends from before we were born, and we had met at the ages of 8 (me) and 10 (him). From the age of 10 (he was 12) I knew I liked him, it wasn't until I was 14 that I realized how much. We were best friends, had been since the day we met, and everybody from both families thought we would be perfect together. At the age of 14 I told him about my feelings for him whilst in France, but he told me he didn't feel the same. I respected his feelings and we remained best friends. Every year I would tell him at least once that I still had feelings for him, that they hadn't gone away, but he would always tell me he still didn't feel the same. This continued every year until he was 20 and I was 18. One day he told me over the phone (we were in different states because I was at boarding school) that he realized he has some not-so-friend like feelings for me, and if I still like him he'd like to explore them, and I thought that my dreams had come true, but I told him I wouldn't be home for another month because I was still at school, and he said he would wait for me. When I went home, I went to his house all nervous but excited. We went for dinner and drinks, and back to his place after. Throughout this whole evening he had not made one move on me, so whilst we were at his house I siked myself up to do it. Eventually I had worked up the courage and decided to pull his phone out his hands and kiss him. When I pulled his phone out his hands he responded; "Hey! Give that back I was talking to my girlfriend!", and a part of me broke. Long story short, a week after his phone call with me he got a girlfriend and never told me. I excused myself to the bathroom, cried a little, asked my mom to pick me up, and never mentioned it again. One other thing happened between us a year later where we slept together under the pretense that he had feelings for me and we would remain friends if it didn't work out. It didn't work out, and he blocked me on everything a month later without telling me why. After being blocked by each other for a year, we finally decided to talk about everything. It had been hard for that year because our families were best friends, and we refused to do anything that might result in us seeing the other, even though we spent time with each others' families. It turns out - after a year of reflecting - that both of us felt the pressure from our families to be together and gave in thinking that it was what we wanted too. For me, it started and ended that way, but there was a period of time (before and until he got a girlfriend after saying he wants to explore with me and didn't tell me) where what I felt for him was real, but from that moment on I thought I still had feelings for him out of pressure and habit. For him he never had feelings for me, but after 12 years of pressure and confessions, he began to think he did. We agreed we'd never be able to be what we were before everything went down, but for the sake of our families, we would be acquaintances at best and rebuild our friendship from scratch. It's been a year since then, and we still talk. We don't talk frequently, and we don't talk about anything too personal, but if we had to meet up right now, we could, with no hard feelings.

I know I am going to get a lot of heat for this but here it goes: If a woman sleeps around with a lot of men, people say it will be hard for her to find a partner who won't be insecure about her past. Does that not apply to a man?

I don't get why women would think we care about their "experience" or "technique" in bed, I mean, come on. Yes, a little creativity is appreciated, but, at the end of the day, we actually don't care. Most efforts bring great results but not everything has to be a home run. Her insecurities are what brought them to this. Too bad. Both sound like good people. BTW Paul and the Old Man are amazing. Paul proved to be an amazing friend and that Old Man is very wise. At least OP has a good support system besides his family and everyone else.

Yeah a woman with good "technique" is just the cherry on top. I'll happily take a woman who does practically nothing but lay on her back as long as I know Im getting it consistently. Maybe some women think that way because they require good technique from a man.
@Buldogg3457 ай бұрын
@sadudas11 I mean, if she doesn't do anything, not even react, then you aren't doing a good job, so... And about the last past, I don't think so. Maybe they think like that because of low self-esteem or something. Or maybe the biggest and stupidest mistake many people make, they don't communicate. You want to know how to please her? Ask her. You want to know how to please him? Ask him.

The boss' quote was misogynistic bs tho. Women don't create the beauty standards, men do. The women who don't wear makeup just end up getting told they should wear makeup by men.
@under-dog53906 ай бұрын
No the beauty industry is fueled by women and that is undenyable. Why is it fueled by women? For male validation. Women set the standards and keep trying to one up eachother for that validation and men literally just observe and be like "oh you look nice."

I may be perceived as the bad guy hear... But up until she rented the hotel room, I couldn't really see why it was such a HUGE deal to him after she merely SUGGESTED it. I mean the guy literally said himself about his body count, "take the total, divide by 3, and it's still a scary number" that's a lot of fucking people. A lot of experience. And A LOT of PRESSURE on his gf. Of COURSE she's going to feel like he settled or that she'll never be good enough. OF COURSE that pressure will increase once the realization sets in the closer the wedding day gets. Of course she feels like he's settling with her after he had "fun" and now is ready for the "serious boring" life with his "on hold" wife that their families basically set up. Of course she feels like she could never live up to any of his experiences or could possibly satisfy him long term. I can't really blame her for feeling that way. I mean who wants to be in a relationship where the balance is THAT skewed? Where you had THAT extreme of a difference in an important field such as sex. Idk, I can of course totally understand him being moderately upset about her suggesting it, but to absolutely lose his shit like that? To "have no idea where this is coming from"? Really? You can't POSSIBLY imagine why she feels insufficient? Why she's scared bc she's finally realizing you are her last person she's going to be with and she'll have no chance to "catch up" or "get better" in bed before settling down with you? Like, this is my opinion BEFORE the hotel room. I was pissed AF seeing she had that hotel room. Though, if she really TRULY couldn't go through with it, maybe they could've worked through it that night if he walked in and saw nobody there. Idk
@ArtemSayapov7 ай бұрын
He didn't break up with her because she suggested an OM, he broke up with her because after he stated his disgustment at the thought of an OM, she went ahead and tried to f someone anyway behind his back. Also, she made it sound like he would cheat on her if the marriage wasn't open, which really shows how little she trusted him, so he had every right to get mad at this suggestion. And anyway, even suggesting an OM is usually grounds for major suspision. The story is probably fake though.

The sad part is that it's so easy to put yourself in Jenn's shoes. Imagine you're lovers with someone, basically since your childhood. You've lost sight of one another for a couple of years because they are away due to work, but that's okay. You know they will be back eventually, and you're keeping in touch anyways. In the meantime, you're leading a modest life in your hometown, having a relationship or two, but it's an open secret that you're waiting for your lover to return. Then they come home, and they have changed. The person you are in love with suddenly is *much* more evolved, much experienced. And it dawns on you that your partner has pretty much banged a swath right through south east asia while the two of you were on pause. That relationship is over. Like, guys, imagine this from the reverse position. You've stayed in your hometown, your girl has come back, but now she is acting like a porn-star in bed and it turns out she has been with like a thousand guys over the last years. Nobody has technically been hurt, but there is still no reconciling this. Demanding an open marriage, cheating - that's fluff. That's details. This would have gone wrong one way or another anyways.

So I wonder if there any update at all to your knowledge? I believe couples in 2023 are starting to learn that if you truly want a successful relationship you should probably leave open relationship out of your vocabulary. This is not the first, and by no means the last we will hear of a stupid decision to present this to your significant other and it completely blowing up in your face. I would recommend if you have these thoughts stay single until you don't!
