The two Paul albums, there's just something addictive about them.

RIP Paul , and yes I feel the same way I graduated HS in 83 so all these bands were hitting their stride and peak 79-83 when I first saw the debut Maiden in my favorite and our only record and head shop in town I bought it just for the cover art alone I loved the punk influences in those first 2 records, my first Maiden show was Indianapolis the old Market Square Arena Piece Of Mind tour with Fastway and a Canadian band Coney Hatch opening, I wore that t-shirt out at school saw so many great shows between Evansville Indy and Louisville during that period skipping school for travel day to show. What we used to get away with back then. Lucky to be alive

I think you are probably a bit older than me, good doctor. My first Maiden album purchase was Somewhere In Time. That's actually the first vinyl I bought with my own earned cash from a job at 14. I went backwards from there over the next ~8 months buying the entire back catalog. Back then I liked both the Dickinson and DiAnno eras but leaned towards Dickinson as a kid and young adult. It was maybe ~15 or so years ago I started leaning towards the DiAnno era. I still love a lot of the classic Dickinson stuff, but the DiAnno era was more raw and heavy.

According to some former Maiden members, Steve still keeps in touch with them. Doug Sampson, who was the drummer between 1977/79, said in a interview made in 2016, he had gone to Maiden's bassist player home to check his drum kit and stated Steve is the same guy he met. Around 2017/18, i bumped into Dennis Straton at the London's 02, but he was in a hurry, therefore I didn't bother him for a pic and he had a Maiden's backstage pass.

My cassette of "Iron Maiden* stopped playing well so I just got a new remastered copy this Sunday and could not stop spinning it. I love both Iron Maiden versions but Running Free has always been my favorite tune from the band. Paul was simply bad ass, Maiden had a totally different feel with him. Battlezone was pretty damn good too. Looking forward to finding "Beast in the East" DVD RIP PD 🤘🏻

My first exposure to Maiden was when I saw Number of the Beast at a spin the wheel game stand at Seaside Heights in NJ. I picked it by the cover because I never heard of them. I first listened to invaders on my uncles old crappy hi fi furniture sized record player. I was not impressed. When I got home I listened to the rest of the tracks and loved it! But I still like the first 2 albums more which is rare for me. I usually like the first album I heard the most. RIP Paul.

Can you think of another rock guy who just walked away from success? PD will forever be one of the creators of the OG pose of the band. Trust me. Bruce adjusted to them when he came along not the other way around. The rest all had their shit down pat. PD helped to create that space out front. All Bruce had to do was hop on and hold on for the ride. That is part of his PD legacy.

As for recording albums, the same folks who owned the record labels also owned the companies that manufactured the blank cassettes, as well as the equipment used to do it. It was a win - win.

Unfortunately, he lived a hard lifestyle which is common among musicians of the style he performed. Many years on the road of abusing his body will stress vital organs and one day they just quit.

Sorry I'm late, I had a layover in Denver. Anyway I also think Iron Maiden would have been just as big and if not better than what they were with Bruce. They lost a certain sound when Paul left and I hate to say it but they are boring, droning on and on which is not what they did when Paul was on the job.
@fclefjefff404113 күн бұрын
Let me get this straight: 1) you’re apologizing for commenting “late” on a KZbin video, and 2) you felt it necessary to explain why you’re late. 😂
