I have this set plus the "cook and eat" set which has 2 small plates, 2 sporks, silicone pot holder/trivet, cutting board and plastic lid for the skillet. I would pair both sets together to make a complete kitchen set

I have the same set (with the plates) but I think it is called the Adventure "all-in-one fry pan set". I also have the "Nesting 2 cup cook set" & "All-in-one two bowl set" from the Adventure series. I combine all three sets when needed. Great stuff at an affordable price.
@DL-ij7tf3 жыл бұрын
On the topic of combining stuff with this pot - I've found that you can fit the Optimus Polaris stove and pump inside this pot, which is nice since while the Optimus Polaris is probably the best stove in terms of fuel versatility and maybe durability, it's somewhat large, somewhat heavy (and very loud). It's not that easy to find a good way to carry the stove and this pot is perfect for transporting the stove and it's components (minus the fuel sources). Obviously you'd have to forgo the bowls and such that come in the pot.

I've used this set for the last 3 years mostly for car camping. This thing is durable. I've removed the tab on the lid and replace with a metal ring and added a 5"x2" cake pan. Makes for the perfect baking oven. I make cornbread in this thing all the time. Just add mix, throw a couple small rocks in pot to keep the cake pan off the bottom, throw the covered pot into coals and place some extra coals on the lid. 15min later, perfect cornbread.

I love this entire kit and the utensils come in handy quite often for my cooking methods. Stanley kits are amazing and probably 60% of my kitchen set (overland camping) are Stanley products. I love the single wall canteens with double lids for coffee on the road. I place two koozies on the outside and that keeps my coffee or tea warm and the two lids keep spillage to a minimum, if any. For cold drinks, I put them filled with my favorite beverage, place them in my refrigerator and they stay ice cold for hours after removing them to enjoy.
@annettemalaski19673 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it! I wanted to give it to someone who could use it. The utensils are for spaghetti as far as the spoon. The spatula really isn't useful in a pot.
@kellyms72303 жыл бұрын
I have the same kit. Works well for "car" camping. We are not much of backpackers. I've had mine for at least 10+ years and no problems. The plastic spoons work better for cold salads etc. We use metal utensils for the cooking. Thanks for the review!

I have this cookset and works well for my purposes. Unless I'm car-camping, I only take the pot and lid with me. I leave behind the bowls, cutting boards, and spatula. Without all that stuff, you can fit a large 220g propane fuel canister and washcloth inside the pot with the lid closed.

I really like Stanley products. As a matter of fact I have alternative cook set but my go to is my Stanley 20 oz...the very 1st one I purchased when I started backpacking. I have smaller lighter sets but I still use it almost every trip!
@TrailToughTrailers3 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke, I believe Stanley looked at building a kit that would hold items that usually don't fit well together/easily such as the utensils. Most of us can stuff a spoon/fork into a cook kit, so Stanley thought, "Let's make the utensils fit since most can get their sporks to work." Keep the great reviews coming!!!

These are great kits and well worth the money. The spoon/fork comes in the all-in-one fry pan kit with the 2 plates. The small 24oz pot comes with the 2 cups. I own all 3 kits (pot w/2 bowls, small pot with 2 cups, fry pan with 2 plates) and paid about $75 in total. I really like how a person can take what they need and leave what they don't depending on each situation. I call them the perfect affordable 2 person camp cook set.

I’ve had this kit and have used it extensively for years. I pick and choose which parts I take with me when I use it. It’s been perfect, durable, and useful. I haven’t had any issue with the tab melting, and I’ve used the cutting boards for their intended use many times with no issue. The spatula also works very well, but can be hard to clean , especially with eggs.
@shadomane2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the thorough review Luke. As for the tab on the pot lid, it can be removed by pushing the pin out of it and then just replace the tab with a 32mmsplit ring or a #2 S-biner. There are mods that can be done to this system to increase it's functionality, James at Waypoint Survival has some nice hacks/mods for this cook set. All in all it's not a bad system, but I do believe it can be improved upon. One unfortunate thing is that the price has currently gone up US$5.00 for the set. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with this cook set. Your review is spot on.

Hey Luke, I ended up tossing the bowls and ladle pretty quickly. I like having a pot that can cook for two if I need it, and inside I nest an msr stove and fuel canister with the collapsible x bowl and x mug from Sea to Summit. All of that fits with the lid closed and handle locked. I think it’s a good start aimed mostly a car or trailer camping, but can be customized for other uses. I would like to see Stanley do a more complete kit with a fry pan that nested, more like the trangia kits.

Luke👍👍 Good review. Stanley products for the most part rock, been using them in one form or another for years. No failures or problems and service life is incredible. I mixed and matched several of their cook kit products, made a canvas bag, added a few extras and have a bomb proof kit. Stainless is always a bit heavier but survives every adventure I'm on, foot or other. This set has pros and cons like all other sets, YMMV. Thanks for the video.

Would like to see kit you put together. I have several Stanley sets and have been diapointed with each. The only parts of each set that I like is always the SS pot that the rest is to support which in my opinion is near useless. Of late I have been using tin cans of various sizes to build a one person kit. Light, nesting and compact. Just need to oil the inside of cans a bit to prohibit rust.

One Con that I see, you probably would not notice, being in the US. The markings are based on US measure, rather then marking 16oz then 473ml (which is a pretty useless number) they should have marked 16oz,24oz, 32oz, then 500ml,750ml, 1L a little higher up. This would make it more useful outside the US.

I have the Base Camp 4X pot, and it's a beast. Heavy, but has just about everything you'd want or need for four people. Plates, bowls, sporks, trivet, hot pad, "cutting board" (yeah, pretty small but functional), a skillet, spatula, and a proper stirring spoon that attaches like the ones in the 2-bowl cook set. Same kind of lid with a bungee-type cord to hold everything in place. In spite of the weight that these larger cook sets entail, they would be well worth their weight in functionality. If you were using it in a winter environment, or a bicycle/motorcycle/pull-behind small trailer/car camping situation, it would be ideal. BTW Barkeeper's Friend has been around since before I was a kid, and I've used it plenty. Great stuff, comparable to Comet (no product endorsement, just comparison). Thank you for what you do. S&H.

I have the same thing only with an additional larger pot nested. It is called the Stanley 2 Pot Prep and Cook set. The one in the video is a 1.58 qt pot . With mine it has that one and all the bowls nested in an additional 2.5 qt pot with lid. This allows me some versatility as I go with the bigger pot when camping with more people. As for the bowls and utensils they may come in handy depending on the menu but usually leave them home. The ladle is useful when making pasta though. I pair this up with the Stanley prep and cook set which is the 8" skillet, plates and utensils and find it handy as well

Had one. The handle failed (broke) after a year of near constant use. The utensils enforce the motto: if it's removable, it's losable. I'm solo, so the 2 bowls are at home. They're good bowls. Any outdoors pot should have a bail along with or instead of, the wire handles. My current kit is a Halulite Ketalist plus a regular metal cup. Pocket Rocket fits either one.

Picked one up at Walmart yesterday.... $25 is there everyday price, seemed like a no brainer. Big Stanley fan, great kit, may not use the utensils for this kit, but certainly spatula for my skillet and grilling and thinking I may try cutting / molding ladle into a sayte / kitchen spoon, better quality than most plastic kitchen utensils I've seen from other manufacturers and the beatings great. A couple tips: You should slide the little cross bar on the handle towards the pot, to lock it and keep the handle arms from moving inward, like when you're folding it for storage. Get a couple Dollar Tree, flexible cutting boards, and cut to fit inside the lids, so you have the stability of the lids, but without cutting into the actual plastic. A silicone pot holder fits well into the kit ( also Dollar Tree)."

Stanley makes good stuff at a fair price. Thanks for your review.

I will say that the bowls look way more useful than the joke of a bowl that came with my MallowMe cookset. That thing is useless for me. But that is JMHO. I always liked my stanley thermos when I drove OTR. So I may be picking one of these up in the future. Thanks for the review Luke!
