It includes 30 minutes of unreleased documentary footage from The State of Texas vs. Melissa courtesy of Sabrina. Also includes the FULL interview with the Lucio Family.
We’ve had journalist and investigative reporter Sabrina Van Tassel twice on the show to talk about her film and Melissa Lucio’s case. Melissa’s sister Sonya, Melissa’s son John and her niece Vanessa share some exclusive information about the case and the death of Melissa’s two-year-old daughter Mariah that have never been revealed before.
WARNING: this episode is not recommended for everyone to watch, sensitive subject matter is discussed.

So there were other adults in the house?? 19 year old sister with her own baby?? This is rediculous! You wouldn't want your own children with her but you left a 2 year old with her. Wow. Every adult in the home failed that child.
@silenceisgoldn
@silenceisgoldn 2 ай бұрын
No, I believe the adult children didn't live in the home. They had moved out. So stop blaming the adult children. The man in the panel, John, was 18 and he clearly said, he moved out of the home at 16. He was 18 when the little girl passed away. The adult daughter was 19, married and pregnant with her 3rd child. 11 people lived in this house. So, although she didn't specifically say where she lived but if you add up the numbers, it doesn't equal 11. Think about it... the 19 year old had 2 children and a husband plus all th¹e other children (14 children minus the 2 or 3 adult childen who left) plus the mom, Melissa... that does not equal 11. So, what adult children are you talking about and blaming?? Lastly, newsflash... people have children at 16, 17, 18, 19 and so on. It may be "rediculous" to you but it's not for you judge other progress choices or their lives. I think your judgemental comment is ridiculous (not rediculous).

yea that was my baby, says the big brother who left his sister dying, instead of calling 911..because he did not want to be arrested,,,crap he could have called 911 and left....911 may have saved her life if she had a concussion to relieve as soon as possible any swelling or bleeding on the brain...but no..he just left.....that baby in that state..he is just as guilty though he did not do that..he said alexandria looked gulity so he KNEW the baby had been seriously harmed and she was not even responsive but she was alive...so he and his sister should both be charged. HE being neglectful to call 911 as a baby lay dying...and his sister for abusing her and causing her injury. If the mother is guilty it is because she knew siblings were abusing a toddler and she failed to protect a younger sibling.

Absolute BS. Sonya clearly said out if her own mouth that they knew there was a lot going on and she “just blocked it out”. That’s the problem with generational abuse. Nobody wants to confront the other adults in the family so that they can stay comfy.

Why people keep saying she deserves a fair trial ? The fact Mariah was taken away from her at birth because baby came back positive for drugs ! Then cps unfortunately gives Mariah back to melissa’s care at 2 years of age just for her to die in her custody 82 days later! Her body was covered! COVERED in old and new bruises ! Bite marks , hairs strands missing from her head , pinching in private area , broken arm and so on ! But claim she’s not guilty? Wtf MAKE IT MAKE SENSE !!! Theirs is no where , where Alex confesses to murdering her sister it’s all she say he say ! Ofc they are trying to save their sister, aunt and mom (1) Child form 12 she has only 1 is a fighting for her if that doesn’t say much then idk what will !

Why didn’t the mom care enough to take her to get checked???? She’s at fault no matter how you put it. Why is Daniella Hope saying you left the part out where she said her mother is guilty? She also states in one of her comments on Facebook she has no compassion for someone who beat their little sister over a 2 month spree. This was just 3 days ago. She also goes on to say: I’ll say it over and over and over again our mom is guilty. Typical documentary as always feelings outweigh facts. Created for entertainment yet people still believe they are factual. Biased attempt to play on sympathy. Why do you people not care about Mariah? It’s been one lie after another. First of all, if you notice in the video the detectives who were interrogating were telling Melissa how hard to hit the doll...they were coaching her. And there is a far cry difference between hitting a doll and hitting a child. Second of all, whenever the doll incident came around in the interrogation processed was after about 5 hours into the interrogation process where Melissa keep in mind suffers from PTSD from childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence mixed in the factor that she was sleep deprived and that the interrogators were using the Reid technique ofinterrogation a technique that has been known to produce false confessions & were prohibited practices. in other words the interrogators were using practices that were unethical. But by the time the doll incident came around and after Melissa had stated over 100 times she didn't do it and having PTSD myself and them not wanting to believe her I know that eventually your resolve to maintain your innocence gives away because it becomes obvious that the person badgering you doesn't want to leave you alone and won't leave you alone until you say you did it. Any investigator knows that there is a thin line and these interrogators cross beyond the line. The doll scene was not evidence it was coerced you can see in the video their coaching car on how hard to hit it go get some glasses LOL

Mariah’s mother Melissa had her for 88 days CPS returned her back home. Melissa slowly tortured Mariah. Autopsy report: Blunt force trauma contusions in her head area. Contusions to her kidneys, lungs and spinal cord. She was covered in bruises from head to toe. Bruises on the face, in the hair and on her chest. Pinch marks on and near her vaginal area. Bite marks on her back. Portions of her hair missing at the roots. Cocaine in her system. She was dehydrated and small for her age. She had a broken arm that was believed to have happened 2 to 7 weeks before her death. I think Melissa didn’t seek medical attention because she knew she would arrested for child abuse.

I feel that she belongs in prison, it was her responsibility to protect her child. No doubt that that baby was abused and the mother knew about it. From my understanding she even mentioned biting her on the back before that came in the autopsy reports. I do believe in the death penalty but if there’s any doubt I don’t think the execution should continue, and in this case there is some doubt. I think her family is trying to stop the execution regardless if she killed the baby or not so some of these stories are bias. The kids that were adults and saying they witnessed their sister being abused, they did nothing and are just as guilty as the mother, if those stories are true. Sad situation all the way around.

Even if the siblings were abusing Mariah, where was the mother in all this. You have 14 kids, you NEED to bee on them. How could the abuse go on for so long? Sorry, but the mom is guilty regardless of who did the actual abuse. She was the mom and the adult, she was the sole protector of all those children (or should've been, anyway). She failed to ask for help, she failed to seek medical help, etc. She's guilty; perhaps for the wrong reason, but she is.

If these people in power believe that you’re guilty, then you’re guilty; regardless of the truth. This is why everyone says that the valley is corrupt.. this case shows that. 1. Petitioner’s two-year-old daughter Mariah was taken to the ER on Saturday, February 17, 2007, and pronounced dead shortly thereafter. R.14812-13. 1 Paramedics found Mariah unattended on the living-room floor of the home petitioner shared with her husband Robert Alvarez. R.14922-23, 14936-37, 14981-82. Petitioner said Mariah had fallen down some stairs. R.14924. Mariah’s body showed severe abuse. She was dehydrated, her body covered with bruises in various stages of healing on her torso, arms, buttocks, and face. R.14813-16. There was a bite on her back. R.14815-16. Mariah’s arm was broken a week or two earlier. R.15067. Mariah had missing hair from being pulled out. R.15051. This was the “absolute worst” child-abuse case Mariah’s ER doctor had seen in 30 years. R.14821. Mariah died from “blunt force head trauma.” R.15059. Petitioner waived Miranda rights and was questioned by investigators in a videotaped interview. R.14773; R.8101.2 Petitioner claimed that Mariah fell down stairs on Thursday night. R.8102-03. Initially, petitioner denied knowing how Mariah became so badly bruised, suggesting her older children might be responsible. R.8101-176. Texas Ranger Victor Escalon began interviewing petitioner. R.8177.3 Escalon eventually asked, “Who did it?” Petitioner responded, “I did.” R.8183. Petitioner admitted spanking Mariah, R.8187, biting her, R.8209, and pinching her vagina, R.8205. “[N]obody else would hit her.” R.8189. She denied hitting Mariah’s head. R.8187; R.8227. As for the bite, two weeks before Mariah’s death, petitioner grew frustrated and “placed [her] mouth over [Mariah’s] back and bit her.” R.8222-23. Petitioner demonstrated on a doll how she bit and spanked Mariah. R.8221-28 The jury also heard about Mariah’s injuries. The State presented Dr. Norma Jean Farley, who performed Mariah’s autopsy. R.15047. Mariah died from “blunt force head trauma,” not falling down stairs. R.15059, 15070-71, 15091-94. The ER doctor who treated Mariah relayed that this was the “absolute worst” case of child abuse he had seen. R.14821.

I don't understand as a mother why would you try to throw your two daughters under the bus to save you that's not okay. As the parent it is your 100% responsibility to protect all of your children not just one. Yes a mothers instinct is to protect their child, but if any abuse is happening in the home and mom isn't home she may not know whats happening. But if there is signs of bruises or bite marks on the child body you bet I'd be doing some major bitching and lots of questioning with the older kids . Come hell or high waters something would of been done. People don't have eyes in the back of their heads , so if by chance I was home and heard my baby scream n cry you bet someone's in major trouble plus I'd be checking the baby's body and head. I would think with all those kids one of them would of tattled on the kid who hurt that baby. But now with the 2 daughters who had their hands in this whole incident, WHY the hell are they not investigated and put behind bars as well as mom. ? Murder is murder. Child or adult , they should have to pay for their part in this murder as well. For the death penalty, I don't think that thats right for her beings that 98% of criminals that are locked up for a murder etc dosen't get the death penalty. Alot have gotten it but not all , they get back to back sentence or 105 yrs etc. Got a lot of good lawyers but you have quiet a bit of lazy ass lawyers. Those lazy ones need a good kick in the ass for not fighting for their clients, who a lot of them pay them. They also don't do their jobs and investigate and interview everyone involved. I'm not saying Melissa is innocent or guilty, but I am saying that I'm leaning towards innocent. I'm also saying for them to get those girls and start doing your job and interrogate them til you get the right answers.

If the two girls abused their little sister and did this It would be completely selfish of them I think it’s pretty sick if they would allow their mother to die if she is innocent. I do believe Melissa should get a new trial. I find there seems to be a lot of flip flopping with the girls. The truth needs to come out. You have to be pretty diabolical to let their mother die knowing that they did it. She seems more upset about her shirt being used to clean up the blood after the birth of Mariah than her mother dying and being executed. I don’t believe Alexas or her sister Selina. It’s not like Alexas couldn’t have pushed Mariah down those steps. Seems to me she had a jealously toward Mariah and possibly Selina involved. There is a God and if Alexas or Selina did this and their mother gets out to death. They will have to answer to God. For not only Mariah’s death but their mother’s death. I don’t believe Melissa did this.
