@LemmyFacts I literally grew up playing this game and can see how that made me develop irl, but it really makes you think if actually going out in the real world and putting your social/school life first would have developed those skills even further

when I first saw this video I didn't understand shit and I only played TF2. Rewatching this video, a lot of what Arekk and you said resonates with me, especially 16:00. Anything TF2-related is associated with me, and rushing back home was not worth ditching my friends. Now I much prefer having a social life and having more time (because my time management still sucks ass even without comp tf2) for other things in life, but TF2 will always have a special place in my heart! I didn't even get to invite or anything but the competitive scene burns you out eventually
