Taemin is gifted, he was accepted in the company when he was only 11 years old, SM Saturday auditions were hard to pass, but he passed at first try at 11, and debuted when he was only 14. He is a self taught dancer, and nowadays he is the idols's idols, and of the best if not THE BEST dancer in the industry, young idols from 3rd and 4th generation look up to him and SHINee and claim they are their inspiration and role models to become artists. But in order to fully understand Taemin as an artist you must also listen to his bsides, his title tracks are awesome and very artistic and unique BUT his bsides, that's where he really showcases his vocals and artistry, and if you can listen to the live version it would be even better, and watching a full concert of Taemin and SHINee is a must, is quite the experience, these guys' concerts are on another level, him, just like the rest of SHINee are known for sounding better live (eating their CDs, that's what was said about them). SHINee is a group worth listening to, their vocal quality is no joke and is rare, every one of them is a high class vocalist but each one of them have a very distinctive voice that can be easily recognized, however when they sing together is like a match made in heaven, their harmonies are incredible and they compliment each other so well, as performers they're also top notch, their concerts were more than 3 hours long with very little short breaks and they have intense choreos, however their voices (yes they usually sing live) remained almost flawless till the end, their stamina is something else, but they trained hard for that, Jonghyun used to make them run for a long time while singing. Anyway, these guys are amazing artists and persons and deserve all the love and support, if you will react to them, I'll sure be here for that! 🙂

Okay, so I totally forgot to let you know you’d need a Thirst-Aid Kit when watching Taemin’s videos. Sorry about that. At least it wasn’t a live performance, or “Want”, “Sexuality”, “Slave”, “Thirsty”, “Strings”, or “Play Me”. 🥵🔥 Regarding “Move”, there are three versions of this MV…the first is the one you watched, the second is performance-based with his Girl Gang (backup dancers), and third with the infamous choreographer Koharu Sugawara, with whom he’s close friends. They’ve worked on multiple songs together, she collaborated with him on a dance competition show “The Call” (they received the highest score in the show’s history, which was never exceeded thereafter), and she’s choreographed for SHINee. The choreography for this song sparked a revolution in KPOP and everyone was (and still is, honestly) hit with “Move Disease”…trying to emulate the deceptively simple-looking choreo. I haven’t seen one single person who comes close to nailing it like Taemin, though. He OWNS this song and choreography. He made waves by diving into an androgynous dance style-stating music and dance has no gender. Oh, and there definitely is a dance practice video, btw. SHINee made dance practice videos popular with their video for “Lucifer” (featuring SM’s cloud walls, the toilet paper roll marker, and Taemin’s infamous trippy shirt-I wouldn’t recommend alcohol when you watch it…😂)…so you’ll find all the members are really good about posting DP videos, but especially Taeminnie.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. I love Move. This is my 2nd fav song from him. U have to watch the dance practices. Those are a must for Taemin. He also has dance versions of his MVs sometimes so keep sharp Meg. Taemin explores certain themes in his work. So there are connections. It's really deep and I have not figured all of it out yet. I read comments and take notes. But Taemin has his signature post T in many of his later songs. The mask appears often and there is a meaning to it for sure. I am so glad u liked this song too. This is such a vibe. He created his own way of moving that no one can copy. I hear so many have covered this song but its not the same. Only Taemin can do this choreo his way. He is a brilliant dancer. I hope ur following him on IG. He has been posting recently and going live a lot. He will have a fan meeting this month in Korea. I think he plans to perform. I am excited. There are so many Stays, Atinys and Monbebes who fall in love with Taemin and SHINee. I guess it's got something to do with liking good music and talented, nice guys ;) And yes, there is a dance practice to this video. Before I saw it I was like - kpop is completely not for me, I like some drama OSTs, but that's it. After I saw it I went on a binge - I watched all of his dance practices first, then SHINee dance practices, and then there was no exit for me. As for the no shirt thing - he doesn't show his body that much, considering the number of sensual songs in his repertoire, but he does from time to time. But he is able to be insanely sexy wearing a suit and a turtleneck - if you don't believe it, watch Thirsty MV :) If I were you, I would start with the newest SHINee songs, like Don't Call Me, Atlantis and Superstar, and then go back to their greatest hits, like Sherlock, View, Lucifer, Replay, Ring Ding Dong, Dream Girl, Everybody, Good Evening... Their live performances are HIGHLY recommended. I don't even know where to start with them, there are so many, but people usually recommend everything from their SHINee World IV concert. I also recommend watching some funny compilation videos, because they are hilarious. If you watch any compilations of their car vlives, especially those with Taemin and Key, you will be astonished at the contrast between the on-stage Taemin and off-stage Taeminnie, SHINee's maknae.

When I first met SHINee I didn't know their history. Taemin brought me to them but I didn't know anything and learning about JongHyun tied me inextricably to them. Becoming a shahol was natural. I always think that carrying such a painful weight with them, helping them in some way to share this lack is a kind of faith. You have to know them. The look and feel for "Move" is very specific, it's supposed to be androgynous and gender neutral. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to play up his feminine features. Being recognized for his delicate image, ended up giving him a real complex about the fact that people never saw him as a masculine man. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career, as a 24 year old (He is 29 now), he was trying to make a statement about how he has now come to terms with just being himself and not caring what people think. Dancing is art and movement has no gender. "Move" is his title track on his 2nd Korean solo album, which was released in 2017. Fun fact: The blue color you see throughout this MV is supposed to represent the cool, chill vibe of this song, but pearl aqua also is SHINee's fan color, so you will see aqua/blue/green shades with most everything to do with SHINee as a way to represent their connection as a group and their connection to their fans, etc. And just so you know, those background vocals aren't Taemin's. They actually chose to leave the songwriters' vocals in the song from when they recorded the guide track. I have seen interviews with Adien Lewis, one of the original songwriters and he was shocked to hear his voice still in the song. Usually when a Kpop company gets a song from a songwriter, especially a foreign songwriting team, they will translate it into Korean and record all the vocals using the artists' vocals or other Korean artists, etc. So it's very rare that a songwriter would have their original vocals in a Kpop song, however, this was one of the few times where SM didn't rerecord or change everything. If you're interested, here is a short clip of an interview with Adien Lewis talking about "Move", kzbin.info/www/bejne/noXbk5SfjN6lo6M. "Move" features all female dancers because the whole point of the song and dance is supposed to be about crossing gender boundaries and how just because you are male doesn't mean your dance has to be hyper masculine. Taemin uses what is traditionally considered more feminine dance moves to show how you can merge both feminine and masculine styles together to create something that can't be singled out as one gender or the other. This dance allowed a more mainstream audience to start to embrace less traditional gender roles within Kpop. "Move" is one of Taemin's most famous choreographies and it has become the dance he is most recognized for.This dance has inspired what is known as the "Move disease," and it is said that the dance is so catchy that you can't help but try to imitate it. There are literally hundreds of videos online of people attempting cover dances to this song. (It is on the level of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance and some of the most famous TiK Tok dance challenges.) But no matter how good of a dancer they are, it is quickly apparent that there is just something about the way Taemin moves that can't be duplicated. Taemin is Taemin and there is no one else like him. The dance is never as sharp or precise as the way Taemin does it. That is why he is hands down considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the industry. As Taemin has said numerous times in interviews and on variety shows, the key point in "Move's" choreography is literally supposed to be to stare into the camera like you are trying to seduce the person who is watching. So, you are right, that is exactly what Taemin is doing. The female dancer who is the featured dancer dancing with Taemin in the MV wasn't just any dancer, she is the choreographer who choreographed "Move". Her name is Sugawara Koharu and she is a Japanese choreographer who has choreographed dances for several Kpop groups, as well as American artists. She has worked with Taemin a lot over the years and she is the one that also choreographed Taemin's dance for his songs "Want," "Flame of Love" and "Sayonara Hitori" and helped choreograph Taemin and her performance on the competition program Hit the Stage -- "Devil" performance, etc., and she was one of 3 or 4 choreographers who helped choreograph Taemin's "Criminal." Taemin and Sugawara are really good friends. She was also the choreographer for SHINee's song "Good Evening," among others. She loves working with Taemin because they are a lot alike, and that is one of the reasons why she has been featured in several of Taemin's projects. Plus, Taemin and all the members of SHINee, are also one of the most famous artists in Japan and they all speak fluent Japanese, so they have no problem communicating through dance or language. :D You should now check out Taemin's Dance practice for "Move," as well as a live performance so you can really see why this song is so iconic and discover how it literally changed the Kpop industry. (There are also a #2 performance version MV that focuses on the choreography and a #3 performance (Duo ver.) version MV, which focuses just on Taemin and Sugawara Koharu's dancing.) Taemin has worked hard to become the magnificent and unique performer and person that we know him as today. But there really is no one that pushes him or holds him to a higher standard then himself. Taemin has said that he really has never taken a true vacation since he was a trainee -- he started with SM Entertainment when he was around 11 years old -- and he doesn't know what to do if he isn't constantly working and training. As he has said, there has never been anything that has come easy to him and he has only gotten to where he is today because he has worked hard to accomplish everything. He is constantly pushing himself to become the best of the best in everything he does. Taemin's choreography is very much influenced by him. Although he has input in almost everything he does, he has choreographers that come up with the choreography for most of his dances and he then infuses it with his own ideas and style and makes it uniquely his. The way Taemin dances is just the way he moves. His movements are effortless. If you watch Taemin dance a lot, you will see that no matter who choreographs the dance, it will always be very Taemin-like. Many choreographers who have worked with him over the years have said that, with Taemin you can't help but allow him to move in whatever way his body takes him. Taemin is art in every sense of the word. :D Taemin's style of dance can't be defined. As he has said, he has worked his entire career to create a style of dance that is unlike anything in the Kpop industry. And I would argue that that now extends to the entire industry of dance. Taemin started out as a self-taught popper and locker without any dance training, and, even then, as a trainee it was clear his skills as a dancer went far beyond the average dancer. Over the years he has infused those popping and locking skills into his now more contemporary style of dance. But, when it comes to dancing, he can do it all and there is no one better at it than him. Taemin has had a solo career for more than 7 years and he has been a member of SHINee for almost 15 years. He has at least 11 solo albums and SHINee currently has 13 full length albums, plus dozens of mini albums, singles, repackaged albums, etc. And he is also a member of SuperM. So you won't run out of Taemin content to watch for a very long time. ;p Taemin has even held several solo concerts, as well as more than 100 concerts as a member of SHINee and a world tour as a member of SuperM.

Im not sure about his earlier videos, shawols could tell you for sure as I am a multi stan myself (I found shinee from superM 3 years ago), but I am thinking i read or saw something in the behind the scenes of his later videos and songs (particularly the ones right before he left before his service) he had a lot of input of the direction of how he wanted the them look and the artistic feel. I hope that makes sense, I know what I'm trying to say, but words have been a struggle in general today.🥴🤪 I adore Taemin, his duality-on stage and off stage (what I've seen from lives) I am of the mindset- someone protect this man😊

Nice! I have been slowly working through both SHINee's and Taemin's discography. They definitely have a long one. Lol. The fandom name is derived from the full name "SHINee World." Shawol is a shortened name for that. They actually have an album called The SHINee World. Anyway, happy to welcome you into the fandom. I've only been around since 2019 and I'm still getting caught up on everything. I really got into SHINee during COVID and watched a guide to the group to get caught up. My recommendation for Taemin is definitely "Advice." It's got a girl boss vibe and talks about his time in the industry and being pushed and pressured during his career, and the music video is just gorgeous. Warning: some shirtless scenes, definitely. For SHINee, I personally love "Lucifer" (weird hairstyles, fantastic dance, and one of my favorite songs by them), "Don't Call Me" (their first comeback after Key, Onew, and Minho came back from the military, and was my first comeback), and "View" (fun dance, got to see a reaction from the choreographer which was cool, and fun video with them running away with fans). For a classic SHINee song, "Ring Ding Dong" is quite funny, and was one of my first kpop songs I ever heard. They definitely love to test out different things. Oh! I think the best guide is "Deep Dive Into SHINee" at this link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpq8fYmjeNaUsMk. It's very recent and covers SHINee's entire history. But you need to know it's over 1 hour long and it has clips of their most famous songs, which might be a problem if you don't want spoilers. It is difficult to know where to start with a group that's celebrating their 15th anniversary. Some people check out the member's solo work first, then see them as group and others do the reverse. Do what feels the best for you and at your own pace because it's your journey after all😊.

No it's not about the title of the song. Taemin wanted 'move' to be the title track so he could have a mv for it but his company wanted 'love' another song of the same album to be the title track. So the 'move' mv happened because Taemin fought for it.
