When you mentioned that you can see people using the death note for success and power in business in the real world... that’s actually a huge reason L suspected it was a student who had the death note. He knew that an adult would likely use Kira’s power to gain wealth or success. In his mind, only a young person would be idealistic enough to think he could truly change the world by eliminating evil instead of using his power for personal gain.

@xInfoRaderx A blank is basically a shell filled with gas, powder, various propellants-everything you need to make the sound of a bullet without the actual bullet. If you make something explode that close to someone’s head, it’s gonna hurt them. *Usually* it won’t kill but you absolutely will burn the hell out of them. And sometimes the blanks are sealed with little bits of plastic or whatnot, so that’s a potential projectile.

@@uhohmykokoro1616 thank you for explaining blanks, I honestly had no idea how/what they're made with because everytime someone says blanks I'm just like 'so the gun was empty or just faked shots.' However I was aware that they can kill people via close proximity fire range.

just to add, Aizawa cried more of a 'failure' to revenge his dead friend Ukitta kinda reason..he promised he would do everything to avenge Ukitta but in the end he had to gave up the task force for his family. that must've made him cry

I agree. It gives him more personality as well and it's interesting that he isn't fully a "good" person himself like what most people try to think. He also goes over his limits in the investigation to catch Kira but I definitely see where he's coming from.

That's not the case at all. L's actions here and Light's actions are in no way equivalent. There's a chasm between the two.

I always viewed it as L doing izawa a kindness. We see izawa multiple times in previous episodes coming into work with L and the team talking about how he got into arguments with his wife and about how he isn’t spending any time with his daughter during her crucial years. I always saw it as L forcing him to go be with his family cause izawa could never justify leaving the mass murderer kira case himself and that’s why he cries at the end when he realizes that L just gave him his life and his family back.

About L's money. You have to remember that L is the number one detective in the world, that probably pays pretty well. Either way, he's also easily smart enough to become a billionaire without too much effort. He actually used to play the stock market when he was bored as a child I think. However, it's actually Watari who pays for everything L gets. Watari is probably the richest person in the world.

No, Aizawa cried because as long as he joined the team L he didn't have time to spend with his family, He never took a day off and rarely went home to see his wife and daughter.

In the previous episodes before Light revealed saying he "could be Kira" remember L was talking in his own head and saying there's no could be about it, you are Kira. L already knows Light is or was Kira, he just doesn't know how to prove it. That's the real reason why even though in this episode, they are "cleared" until Kira is brought to justice but yet they will be "watched 24/7". L still suspects them both.

L deliberately forces Aizawa off the case because of his family. Matsuda is a bachelor and Light's dad wouldn't drop the case as Light is personally involved, L realises what's best for Aizawa and is purposefully cold towards him in order to make him quit. Aizawa crying at the end is him realising what L was doing and he's happy he can spend time with his family but i think he also regrets his outburst at L now he realises the motive's behind his actions. L isn't emotionless, and Aizawa mentioned he and his wife got into a physical fight which is something a child really shouldn't be seeing and so L realised that clearly Aizawa's family being younger and less stable wasn't handling the situation well and he didn't want Aizawa to ruin his life and family over a case

The way I understand it, L used the test to strengthen Aizawa’s resolve to quit the task force and spend more time with his family. L didn’t want him to regret leaving the team so he could enjoy being with his wife and daughter.

Yeah this part in the anime really doesn't make much sense. Misa gets a pass when they previously said they had enough physical evidence to get a conviction. Criminals in the real world feign ignorance all the time to try and convince others that they're innocent. Losing ones memories doesn't really absolve them of anything it just makes it more difficult to prove their guilt. L kinda dropped the ball on this one, likely to further the plot.
