Great video, thanks! One question: The drill is easier for me to do when I use the stick on the other side (less balance needed). I mean on the opposite side of the leg on the floor. Was this a mistake in the video or should the stick be used on the same side of the leg on the floor?
@ThePrehabGuys2 жыл бұрын
Good question, Patrick! Use the stick for balance as needed on whatever side feels more comfortable for you!

really depends, start with activation and see how you feel

Thanks for the video. I stopped my stretching routine about a year ago because it seemed to be making the issues I was having with my lower back worse. Since then I noticed a great loss of mobility and pain within my range of motion of my hip joint. Within a week of doing this routine a few times a week I've had noticeable improvement. They are a bit challenging though haha.

Sacul these are certainly some tough exercises! And yes, so often we mistake weakness through the hip muscles for tightness. So glad that you found us! If you are continuing to have back pain and really want to take control of the issue, check out our low back program. So many have had success with it! Can you explain why the last part is working on end range activation and what that is supposed to achieve? Fellow PT here
@julianndavis18762 жыл бұрын
Hey guys, great videos as always! I really appreciate your knowledge and thorough explanations. Quick question for you, for the end-range activation I can not lift my leg and keep it off the ground. I assume this speaks to my weakness here. Is that a correct assumption?
@ThePrehabGuys2 жыл бұрын
Hey Juliann! Thanks for the kind words! And yes it absolutely could be due to a lack of strength and control at this range! Try some of these exercises for a few weeks and see if you notice any improvement!

It looks great but what about me at 65? I already know how important exercise is. I needed help with balance and my neck because I have limited movement because of a plate in my c5c6c7 area. I do want to move better and stretching is great. When we get older you have to move more and work harder than i did at a younger age. Do you have any suggestions for us older people? thank you
@ThePrehabGuys3 жыл бұрын
Great question, Lynn! It sounds to me like you would be a good candidate for our neck and mid back program! The focus here is to improve mobility through your mid back as well as improve your strength and posture! Look into it, you can find it on our programs page below and let us know if you have any questions! theprehabguys.com/prehab-programs/

Can't do abduction or adduction in both hips. Almost got a double dysplasia while trying to sit cross-legged during a judo stretching session after class. Can't even cross legs or even feet, but I can somewhat rotate my legs in a static position.

Hey. Can streching hip flexor hard (for example 80% of max strech) can cause hip flexor tear or not?
@ThePrehabGuys2 жыл бұрын
It takes a lot of force to cause a tear in a muscle and also depends on the mechanism of injury and how the tension is applied to that muscle.
