There are many components to relieving carpal tunnel syndrome pain quickly. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Dariks Pain Destroyer (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful resource that I've seen. Check out the extraordinary info .

My surgeon said I have no restrictions. Do whatever I feel like. Had stitches removed today and fingers very stiff and painful. Wife just saw that I should feel ‘significantly better’ ….in 30 days! No wonder I have no restrictions. I could’ve used these exercises after pain was over day three or four. It’s now 10 days. I moved fingers vigorously immediately following surgery figuring I’d get ahead of stiffness while I felt nothing. Thinking that just aggravated the trauma and made the next three days so bad. Will do things differently for the other hand. Can’t be worse than this experience…I hope.

I had surgery on my right hand on March 29, 2023 and they had to do 4 different things to that one hand, 1. Carpal tunnel, 2. scrape some arthritis off the top of my hand inside- ,3. take a cyst-(digital mucus cyst) off my thumb knuckle and 4. a (Trapeziectomy)-replace a bone in the lower part of the thumb with a pin/thin wire. I have had quite a bit of pain too since then, and even though I have been doing some simple exercises but not as much I should be, it seemed to be getting better, but here lately, I’ve been having a lot of pain in it first thing in the morning when I wake up! I’ve been putting ice and Voltaren gel on it throughout the day, but it still hurts, but mostly in the morning time! Now, I just found this video and I am going to start doing these exercises to see if they will help with that pain! Thank you so much for sharing your video!

Also I'm more than 36 hours out from surgery and my entire hand (except my pinky) is STILL as dead numb as it was when I woke up from surgery. They tell me that's normal. I call 🐂💩. I've had 3 surgeries in the past 2 years (4 including this) 2 full knees and a rotator cuff. The anesthesia wore off with 18 hours on all of them. I feel like something went wrong and now I have a mostly useless hand. So yeah. That's awesome.

@VirtualHandCare
@VirtualHandCare 4 жыл бұрын
It is normal at 5 weeks to still have pain and discomfort at the palm and incision area and in fact along the path of the median nerve. It really depends on how bad your nerve was compressed. If you feel as if it has not gotten any better than a few weeks ago then I would recommend to follow up with your doctor or see a hand therapist.

@@VirtualHandCare Hello Michelle. Oh my God thank you for responding I wasnt sure you would reply. The pain It's just in the palm and right where the incision is there's sharp pain when i move it at times and lift something. My surgery was 10/22/19. @VirtualHandCare
@VirtualHandCare 4 жыл бұрын
@@niathenurse The pain should start to decrease around 10-12 weeks but everyone is different. You may not be able to put pressure on the palm for up to 6 months. Again it depends on your activity level, type of release, how bad the nerve was compressed, your health, and many other factors.

How long after surgery do we have to do the finger tip and finger knuckle bend? I'm at 7 weeks and doing great, I'm just tired of this tedious exercise... My PT Lady says I can stop, but I'm wondering if this is common in your opinion. Thank you!

How well did the surgery work to reverse the numbness and tingling on your thumbs and fingers?
@Anon_E_Muss

@@bmp713 mostly gone. I feel a faint numbness when I rest my arm against a high counter at work, other than that... It's absolutely gone. Also... I felt a lot of relief taking a natural vitamin b complex supplement. Not the synthetic vitamin b's, only natural helped the numbness and tingling almost go away completely before I had surgery. You could try that and see if it helps alleviate your symptoms. I would still do the surgery again it really helped, but the natural vitamin b's gave me relief in the interim.

@@Anon_E_Muss Thank you. Thats great you had such good results. Do you know what caused the CTS in your case? Was it endoscopic or open release surgery? Do you feel any pain in your hands or wrists after recovering from the surgery? Did cortisone shots help at all with the numbness and tingling?

@@bmp713 I had gradually increasing carpal tunnel numbness and tingling for about a year before I went to a consultation with a surgeon (who did my coworkers). I believe it came from my repetitive motions I perform at work. I had open release on the carpal tunnel. Recovery was fast, about 5/6 weeks? Did my post surgical exercises as recommend. Now no nighttime numbness or tingling whatsoever. Never tried cortisone shots, I avoided it and scheduled surgery because I didn't want to cause any permanent nerve damage by delaying the surgery. I don't experience any pain after the surgery, only when doing the scar massage for the first three or so weeks. You must do scar massage to prevent the scar tissue from accumulating around the nerve as your incision fully heals. Your surgeon will tell you when and how to do this procedure. Highly recommended!

I had endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery today (11/4/22). My fingers look like fat little and insanely swollen sausages. The fingers are also insanely hot and numb although, granted I did get a block near the armpit of the shoulder and at the wrist with mainly bupivacaine to extend the length of time between surgery and the onset of a CIDP exacerbation along with me having ran my maintenance dose of IVIG the night prior (11/3/22) and getting 50mg of iv hydrocortisone (because I also have adrenal insufficiency but am hoping that it will contribute to extending the time before the onset of the exacerbation as well). However, we are only optimistic for 72 hours between the surgery and the exacerbation onset with a high likelihood of it starting soon after the blocks wear off (about 36hrs post block placement) and the exacerbation starting between 40 and 48hrs after the block placement. Of course I already have told my ortho that I will be requesting OT while in the hospital to help with managing pain because I also have CRPS, central pain syndrome along with hyperalgesia and allodynia (because apparently my body hates itself, idk....). And he absolutely agrees with therapy to help with the pain because it will absolutely help with progress in therapy after the stitches are removed. I can definitely say that it's a good thing that my pain management team (from the same practice) has me on halfway decent pain meds (dilaudid by mouth and emla cream topically.

🤨 My doctor and nurses said specifically that wiggling IS good. AND btw straight after surgery your hand is SO swollen it’s almost impossible to bend your fingers for the first 24-48 hrs. Sorry your video had only given me SOME helpful info.

@@DreamingHearts yeah my first operation they sent me home and said someone from physiotherapist department will call you…. They never did so I didn’t do exercises for weeks and my strength came back way later than it should have so this time round I’m onto it! And 3 weeks????😱 no no no if they said you’ll need to get them out it’s 7-10 days unless you have dissolvable stitches then you’ll need to get checked up to make sure they’re dissolving. I also suggest a soft squishy ball ( I have one made for kids ya know with those little orb things I don’t recommend a foam ball at first they’re to hard) ♥️happy healing

Im able to do all of these stretches less than 12 hours post surgery (even leaving this comment only 11 hours since surgery.) Except for the wrist back and forth but thats mostly to do with apprehension and fear of ripping stitches and also bulkiness. I think it really depends on the individual and how their body reacts to surgery and physical trauma.

it all turned out ok. (no special procedures, just simple exercices) Swelling disappeared completely and strength is moderate (not like a healthy hand, but usable to hold a cup of tea, plate of soup).

@@ubuntuposix funnily enough, I had mine done on Thursday, and today I can't even feel like I've had surgery done on it. No pain, no swelling. Nothing.
