You motivated me to lift and get off of phenibut, klonopin, seraquil, ketamine, weed. I have to do one at a time so I don’t die. I started at 5 grams of phenibut a day and I’m down to 1.9grams a day doing a .3 gram taper per time. Feeling crappy but so much better at the same time. I’d be happy to share my story with you and what changes I had to make to have this be possible. Thank you for the motivation 💪. I haven’t slipped up or upped a dose.

You can use a graph of how much cardio I do as a standin for how anxious I am 😂. Whenever I can't get something off my mind I just have to keep moving. On the food front I've noticed that when I have too much sodium it makes me irritable and less patient. The feeling of high blood pressure is similar to stress. Definitely something to keep an eye on if you haven't before Brandon.

it helps destroy restlessness, yet, still we need our things to be in their place. Like Brandon said, weed can be bad if it mixes up our priorities. For people whose lives are fairly stable, working out shouldn't be a crutch but a lifestyle choice. For those who are not stable, work, and more work. Clean house and chores, it sucks.

This is really motivating me to get back to it. I recently just got clean from almost 10 years of opiate addiction at my peak I was taking around 60 dirty 30s a day. To say the least I’ve been pretty depressed and feeling pretty rough from the years of abuse I’ve put my body through. Not to mention the hell that is withdrawal from being physically dependent on heroin/fent/opiates.. I once was really athletic and loved being in the gym and running, eating healthy, loved to box etc. but as your addiction continues to consume your life you begin to have no time for things you once enjoyed or made you happy in life. The money is drained, relationships strained and every day you are in a panic to get your dope before you become to sick to be able to go get your dope. But I’ve been clean for about 2 months now and I know that being in the gym and eating healthy will help immensely so I’m going to start Monday and go sign up. Idk if I stumbled on to this vid by fate or what but I’m motivated to get going now and to start training my true love boxing again thanks man

Right on brother you look like you're doing very well. I quit using thc myself about 5 months ago going from being a daily but not excessive smoker for 17 years. I had the same experience I will say I'm far from sober but I haven't ingested liquor or anything hard for much longer than 5 months. Plus I ride 35 miles on my bike a week and walk one mile up a long hill and take all my supplements for the last 5 years. And you're right on the money with this change I do need to start lifting more but thats about it. I found that talk you had with Charles recently to be very uplifting for me it gave me more peace of mind that I'm on the right track and so are you man thank you for what you do.

It's wild that you've taken up this challenge when you did, I've been going strong with no weed for two months now, no caffeine for one month, and for about the past month been in the gym 5-6 days a week with a conscious mind for what I eat now more than ever. Couldn't agree more with your sentiment on weed, took about two weeks to finally start eating without it and sleep was hell for about a week but after that, I don't ever want to pick up the habit again. Thank you for the great content, from a heartfelt story of paralyzation and the road to recovery to drinking boxed wine in Ocean City, love the content!

congrats brandon. ive been on a journey like this since about august after a bunch of personal events happened. I was so sad and disappointed in myself and had no motivation to do anything. I spent the last bit of my money on a gym membership and all that sadness went away. Im telling you guys, go to the gym as frequently as possible. While the change is your physique is nice, mentally your so much stronger. Your confidence goes up, and if you stay consistent, it’ll show you results that will definitely motivate you to help improve other aspects of your life.

It's gotta be tough to prepare for a boxing match and get into top shape, only for it to be over and then you're back to regular life, with no certainty of ever competing at that level again. I'm sure that contributed to the mental issues for you. It hurt to see you struggle with that weight on day 1, but I'm glad you're taking it seriously and making progress. And I'm really glad you're doing things like deadlifts and not avoiding the inherent risk. I'm just a rando, but I watch these and I'm rooting for you!

That ACDC song in the background got me pumped! i start my runs with it might as well do one now! Always loved your content been watching for a bit hope your health kick goes well. Also i gotta say the expectation of having a flashy social life with parties and everything that comes with it kinda fades with age and different priorities in life. Ive been struggling with that a bunch and now at 32 i almost enjoy not doing it! Probably seems weird to old friends who still hit the bottle every weekend but hey better weird than miserable! Hey Brandon, happy to you see getting into a healthier lifestyle and making some gains. I started last month too with getting back into the gym and quitting nicotine since I quit my long haul trucking job. One critique about your deadlift and squat is that you want to avoid looking up and try to keep your neck aligned with your spine. Imagine you have laser beams shooting out your nipples and adjust your head so your gaze is parallel to those lasers. It will keep you safe and make your lifts stronger. Anyways, thanks for the entertaining content you make and keep the good habits up!

Working through injuries and depression but im going pretty much three hours every non rest day. 2+ hours lifting, 45 mins to an hour on cardio. Sometimes you're actually fighting for your life in the gym, but theres no other way i would have it. "If you're going through hell, keep going" The whole saying "id rather feel pain than nothing at all doesn't make any sense to those of us have suffered the way men do in silence, but id much rather feel the pain and burn of the physical variety than anything mental and spiritual anymore.

Hell yeah brother happy you're taking your health seriously. On the bench it looks like you're actually doing a spotto bench not a regular flat bench. This is good for keeping full tension throughout the movement but you might be missing out on chest gains by not touching the chest. It can be harder to maintain stability as well. Some people have to do this due to shoulder injuries though so unsure of your story. Is there a reason for the trap bar deadlift over a conventional bar? It can be better on your lower back but it doesnt hit the same muscles as hard, its better for your quads though. If you have bad knees try a wider stance, its good youre doing box squats as well much easier on the knees. Great lifts, looking forward to seeing future ones.

i dislocated my left shoulder wrestling and it hurts when i touch my chest so i've been stopping about two inches above it. are there any other work arounds for that? my shoulder feels fine with my current form but if i touch my chest it immediately starts hurting... i started using the trap bar because i read it was easier on your lower back that's the main reason

@@thebuckinghamshow If you have a power rack in your gym with adjustable safety bars you can do a rack press.
@StizzardLizzard
@StizzardLizzard 10 ай бұрын
@@thebuckinghamshow As Cino mentioned you can try rack pressing, where you place the safety bars at a specific position, this allows you to push from a dead stop and ensures the bar will never hit that angle causing pain. It is harder to press so your weight will drop but it will be much safer. Using a smith machine will also ensure better stability/safety but you won't be using the stabilizer muscles so probably wont give you good carry over for your other sports. Elbow wraps are also fantastic for adding better support, your presses will feel a lot stronger. I'm not sure if that purple block to the right of you is yours but you can also use that to more easily reduce the range of motion and ensure there is a stopping point before the pain. No issue with a trap bar deadlift was just curious and since you're not powerlifting for a comp or anything doesn't matter the variation. Great work though man, lifting is unironically therapy for men.

Respect for putting in the work and already showing great results. Some advice from one lifter to another: Full range of motion always (e.g. touching chest on bench, going into full stretch on dips and DB bench etc) so long as it doesn't cause pain, will serve you better in the long term. This could help improve your knee pain too, I'd suggest working in some exercises to train the full range of the knee joint like free-standing sissy squats (hold something for support) and building strength there as long as it doesn't progress pain. It's also just a great quad builder, you can do them high reps bodyweight and progress to weighted.

I've noticed that you criticize yourself a ton. Like with your Deadlift for example. You said that your progress was good but that you used to be so bad, that that's not saying much. You're doing great bro. Just keep at it. Only critique I'd make is extending your time under tension with slower reps and going to failure. You can explode when you exert and come back in slowly or just do slower, controlled reps both ways. Both increase the rate in which you gain strength.

In addition to vitamins, take probriotics. Sometimes gut imbalances puts you on self destruct mode. And get some sun. Get the basics down, be a happy human, and then youll know whether or not you actually have a problem y'know. By the way, cold ass content bro. Lookin forward to your BJJ comeback

im currently getting sober as well, long time every day weed use can really mess with ya if you're not careful. daily opiates don't help either lol, but not anymore baby a 31 day consistency challenge would be cool to add. Im gonna commit to 20 push ups and sit ups every morning and night, until the new year. Maybe upping to 30-40 twice a day. But atleast the 20's. Glad to hear its working for you brandon keep going!

Looking good Brandon bigger by the day. Also a belt is a something that removes your core out of the equation, If you do to much stuff with a belt you will end up with a weak core. Only use it for top sets.

My goals are to lower my bodyfat and return to being fit and lean again like I was back when I used to be an active kid. A poor diet, alcohol, and weed really fucked up and destroyed my body, physical, and mental health to a point where I have to stick to my diet and concurrent exercises (calisthenics, jogging, running, etc.) in order to help alleviate the problems I have now. I’ve gone through so much awful shit since I graduated high school, but this year was the worst so I’m making a change for it myself. It all starts with small steps, and once you have that momentum going you’ll feel unstoppable. I’m grateful for God and for my girlfriend, my few close friends, and family for helping me out through these dark times and motivating me to focus more on my welfare and goals. We’re all gonna make it, bros. You just gotta grab your nuts and make life your bitch. Eat right, clean, and healthy. Don’t drink and smoke. Go outside, socialize, read books, apply yourself more in school, work, etc. Treat yourself to things you want, and pursue your dreams. Dreams and goals are meant to be achieved, after you wake up and go you will be pleased. There will be dark times, and awful days, for sure. A piano isn’t a keyboard without its black keys. However, by trial through fire you shall come forth as gold. It all takes time. Enjoy the ride.

I started my life style change 4 months ago during summer it was fantastic. I had a very long untreated gastritis and only got treated a month before my life style change. So I actually felt good enough to eat food and got my shit together. I still actually can’t eat a lot of things because of this…

Honestly Brandon its tough because i was able to cut weed cold turkey for a good 2 years or so before allowing myself to succumb to abusing it daily again - biggest problem being that my girlfriend uses along with me so i want to get cleaner and regain more mental clairty, become stronger, and make more money than i ever have for the rest of this year going into next.

youd do well in MMA Brandon, the fact you can wrestle already and youve had some boxing experience. Just need to tie those two things together and once youre there you'll be able to hold people down and just ground and pound your way to a win
