Coming from a Panamara owner your review was amazing. Yes! You’re absolutely right they are expensive to maintain. Even basic maintenance like brakes, spark plugs, tires etc with an independent mechanic aren’t cheap at all. The cheapest thing I pay for is an oil change that’s around $120. I recently replaced all 4 tires on my car that ran 450 per tire. I just got the brakes done last week was $2500. Got the starter replaced a year ago that was 1500. Up until the starter went out I didn’t have any major issues other than basic maintenance. I have a 2016 got it in 2019. I’ve had it for 5 years now & she’s been pretty reliable. I duel residency between Vegas & Phoenix sometimes I’ll drive the car between states & absolutely love it. I’ve been taking my car to the same mechanic for 5 years. Who specialize in Porsche & Audi. No that wasn’t easy to find because a lot of mechanics are afraid to touch my car outside of replacing tires. Other than that I absolutely love my car. I’ve had a BMW 5 series, Jaguar xf, & Maserati in the past & my Porsche by far is my favorite. Whenever I have to part ways I’m definitely getting another one. Hopefully that won’t be the case because I plan on passing it down to my Daughter.

I have to take some issue with the commentary about ownership. Sure, I’m justifying my recent purchase of a 2014 Turbo. But these things are hard to beat post depreciation. The sticker on mine was $163k new and I purchased it with 33k miles for $42k. And yes, I paid more because I sought out a “good one”, not the cheapest one. Parts do not have to be expensive if you do your research. Porsche isn’t manufacturing spark plugs, oil, filters, brakes, etc… One can usually find the OEM parts sans the Porsche logo for 1/3rd the price if not less. NGK, Mahle, and others are their suppliers. Also, DIY is not as hard as you might think on these cars. I truly believe that part of their staggering price tag is due to engineering. I also own a 2008 Cayman S that has been incredibly easy to work on. Oil changes, plugs, filters, AOS, coil packs, battery, brakes, wheels, belts, all easy to DIY. I realize the Panamera is a more complex beast. But I bet that same engineering is there. Ironic that Porsche techs command the highest rates when the cars are easier to work on. I intend on doing a PDK service myself, oil change, plugs, and filters within the next few weeks. DIY can save you big when owning these cars. And also, maybe it’s the DIYer who is best suited to them. Because they will likely stay up on maintenance. Which is the critical factor here, isn’t it? If you’re the owner who doesn’t check the oil until the service light comes on, this car is not for you. Stay after it. Do the logical maintenance. Do it more often than Porsche tells you to. You will get the 200k miles out of the vehicle. That said, the air shocks are definitely going to fail. So just set money aside for that inevitable occurrence.

I called Porsche this week, their shop rate is $199/hr for service. My local mechanic charges $150 and works on everything. It's worth the premium.

@@MeynMotorGroupI have a warranty on my 2010 Panamera S and took it to the dealership. They are horrible, as I found out from my, now, independent mechanic. Using bolts more than once (valve covers, oil pan and timing chain cover. Coming up with "problems" that didn't exist.. The same story applies to mechanics at a stealership.. maybe 2 are qualified, the rest came from Jiffy Lube. They aren't difficult aircraft to work on, they're cars with computers running many systems.

Ha ha, thank you. I came across a few of these for sub 20k in my area. One claiming to have 600 horsepower. I was surprised at how cheap they were since it's Porsche. Small part of me was like maybe just maybe let's do a little research. Watched your video and it snapped me back to reality.

pictures of this car are deceiving. it looks much smaller in person. the front quarter view displays the very attractive rear haunches. when you drive it with the s v8, wow, it moves out--the fit and finish are first rate. the side view is not its forte, looks-wize, but very other angle shows how gorgeous this car actually is. this is from an auto detailer. looks great in white.

I had a 2014 turbo S it was awesome and I only had it for a year because I was scared of repairs but I love my time with it,the seat position memory didn't work but otherwise fine.It did have a turbo sensor problem i had fixed it showed it going to high maybe a rev sensor, but it was covered under the 30 day warranty.I bought it with only 34K on the clock and put 9,000 miles before I flipped it.The brakes were ceramic and it was loaded.I never used the additional button for extra 28 HP since the 550 and horses was enough for me.
