Exmark Lazer Z X-Series OCDC Chute Review

Exmark did it again with this OCDC Attachment. The chute discharge works very well, and I think its a great investment for those looking to save time and increase the quality of your work. Here is a review highlighting some of the components and comparing to the previous one I had on my 2011 Lazer Z Review video.

Question? If someone wanted to add a bagger while still being able to use the chute blocker, could the bagger be put on after that blocker is taken off?? Thx

kenny play nah it’s one or the other. I lay my ocdc on my deck while I use the bagger or take it off entirely. Kind of an awkward design but it’s tough to have it both ways in this example. They both use the corner pin slot on the deck

Those are a must have from what I've seen. My local dealer said they install those free of charge and can put the purchase cost of the unit right in with the zero % financing on the mower. Brian did you buy the jack that fits the front end? I think it's worth the 100 bucks and would make changing blades much easier.

Does having the chute closed affect cut quality? Does it leave a clump of clippings or does it mulch it up

Yep burp I only use it around mulch beds or sidewalks

How can I tighten it up? I bought one for my Exmark staris but as I mow it slowly closes itself. I needed to stay open when I want it open

Adjust the part that attaches to the flap. The two spacers there, you'll have to increase the gap. You'll need a simple wrench, that's all. The cable stretches over time.

I do believe that you could take the Exmark Flap off and still have the OCDC on and OSHA would recognize the OCDC as the flap per my dealer

Good to know! Haven't verified but it's always good to have a deflector on of some type. If you do damage a window let's say, that is the first question the insurance company always asks.

+Brian's Lawn Maintenance true that. My dealer told me a story of a guy in Texas that got hit massively from OSHA at $3700 per violation for no guards on trimmers and mowers etc. racking up a bill of $300k+

I wish I had seen this video two weeks ago, or I wouldn't have bought the Advanced Chute System. I should have known better, that Exmark had the right system for my deck. I also wish my dealer would have known enough to warn me, why not to buy these clone, non model specific systems.

Yeah some styles are hit or miss for sure. This new system is definitely a redesigned item. The cable is at least twice as thick and provides much better control of opening and closing with the foot pedal. Hope it helps more guys make the choice in the future. Definitely a no brainer if you ask me.

It's a safety hazard that does nothing but piles grass on the ground... My plastic discharge chute stays up 95% of the time so next season it's coming off... You can take two license plates tack weld them together to fit the opening size... wrap them with duct tape so it's sealed. use the same three bolts holding on the plastic chute to put the license plate in between. So every time your plastic chute thrower is down your license plate closes the chute.....😉... It works.. And you're welcome.

+Town Line Lawn Care, LLC I don't believe so. I always keep my mower chute guard on regardless. Too much of a liability with potentially shooting rocks out the discharge of the mower.

I'm debating if I want to get the Exmark OCDC or get another Powerchute. I've got no complaints about the PowerChute other than the fact I have to drill holes into my brand new mower. But I feel like I could take it off much quicker and completely out of the way
