Exmark Radius Clutch Replacement!

Electric clutch installation (PTO)
In this video I replace the electric PTO clutch that is responsible for engaging the blades on a Exmark Radius zero turn.

The TG2000 series incorporates the extended features of our Commercial MagStop Clutch/Brakes into a design specifically for tractors, ZTR’s and wide area mowers in this class. The MagStop clutch/brakes combine and electric friction clutch with a permanent magnet brake into a one piece preassembled unit for quick installation. Testing the PTO Clutch for resistance! "Ohms" between (2-4) Ohms. Normally, a PTO Clutch will test at 2-4 Ohms of resistance (regardless of whether it works or not).

Some manufacture's recommend: Use torque wrench to tighten (55 ftlbs), no lock tite. Last Step: Before use, Burnish new clutch/ Roter and armiture come together as both need to be broken in. Put deck into top position - Start tractor, Briefly run at 3/4 throttle, run /disengage for 10 times. Thank you.

Thank you I was looking all over for a the picture of that bracket that anchors the clutch. The bolts online shared somehow so I was looking for a picture of it so I can put back together so thank you

Don’t know if you’re still around, but my ex mark started making some noise back there and it bogs down when mowing. Sounds like it’s coming from the clutch area little bit of a chirping sound. Did yours do that and what do you think? Thanks

Great video very informative. I have to wander if clutch plates springs were starting to get crowded and just hanging and not releasing when switched off that would drag on belt and over heat everything..

Should have used a torque wrench. Premature bearing wear on the clutch.

Correct.Too much pressure is not good. I have a 56" Exmark Lazer Z and I believe the torque for the crank bolt was 50 foot pounds or so. Also,any clutch like that should be broken in before using the machine or clutch life is shortened. Nice video .

@@speed_demon420Deck up, 1/2 throttle, start blades let them come up to speed then stop blades and let them come to complete stop, repeat that 10 times and it’s ready to go.
