D.O. will sport whatever haircut is necessary for his acting roles. That's why he has that haircut in some of these clips. He also said he prefers the short haircut because it's easy to maintain. He is all about convenience and simplicity.

Ahh i love DO!! He is soooo real and honest, his personality is unique for an idol especially, but that’s exactly why ppl love him so much. In korea, alot of singers and idols branch out into acting as well. In fact, alot of them are really talented and respected as actors, DO being one of them! Some are actually known by certain age groups because of their acting, even though they are singers as well, a good example would be IU!

No, in Korea too, idol actors are usually taken less seriously because a lot of them just act for the sake of exposure to the public and a lot of times are given special treatments kinda? There are idols who act only once or twice and that's about it, they want to try but it turns out not really for them? D.O is a totally different case though, he has gained a very good acting reputation ever since his first drama It's Okay It's Love? After that, more and more directors want to work with him and he's now practically a very established actor. The video mentions that he's 'No.1 Idol Actor' because he really is among the best if not the best actor among idols. But, now his being actor is no longer associated with his status as an idol anymore. People just think that he's an actor, and an excellent one. So yeah, Kyungsoo is one of the VERY FEW idols that have made it in acting.

D.O. is my bias since day one. He’s down to earth, sincere, honest. No “aegyo” (he only needs to smile and he’s incredibly cute). Also, we are his “friends” and nothing more. He’s the kindest, most polite and respectful idol I’ve ever seen. Obsessed fans invaded his privacy many times, and stalked him constantly for years. Those crazy people scared the life out of him, and he became shy and reserved. He used to be a very talkative and smiley guy, a little ball of sunshine. Not as much anymore. In spite of everything, I love his personality: he’s a mature person. Kyungsoo is part of the maknae line, but he always takes responsibilities as if he was one of the oldest. Even though he was filming constantly, he rarely missed an EXO event, promotion stage, or concert. D.O. is an example of hard work, discipline, and diligence. And he’s painfully talented…….

I first knew him as an actor, I really like his dramas and movies. Imagined how I reacted when I found out that he's also a dancer and a marvelous singer. The guy who plays guitar and piano whenever he sings, is Chanyeol, another multi talented soul in EXO. All EXO members are talented, the reason I like other K-pop groups, but only stan EXO and have D.O as my bias and the rest of the members, my bias wreckers.

Kyungsoo is filming a movie now titled "The Moon " he is an astronaut in this film and on September or October he is going to start another film titled "the secret " were hE played a genius pianist. He just also offered another drama were in, his going to play a role of a badass prosecutor....

There are many idols with handsome faces and good voices, but what makes D.O. so special is his personality. For me, he has the most "does not looks like idol" personality, he doesn't like being in the spotlight. He sings and acts because he loves doing it and he always does his best, and already happy if people enjoy his hard work.

by the way nope it's not like that in Korea. in Korea when idols appear in dramas or movies, they're usually looked down upon and theres a lot of prejudices for so called "idol-actors". D.O. is said to be the one who broke the stereotype of idols being bad actors and he quickly conquered both the drama and movie world which is very unusual for idols. usually they do well in dramas because you dont need a lot other than charisma and good looks often whereas for movies he has played many different roles and he really had to show people what hes capable of. hes a great actor and in Korea hes actually more known as an actor despite being one of the best vocalists of the generation

Loved the snippets of DO. One of the cutest is when the guys are at a deer farm. DO immediately made friends with the whole herd and they were just following him around, so we’ll behaved, as he fed them. Some others were terrified of feeding them.

Hey RJ, thank you for your reaction to D.O.....or Kyungsoo, my ult bias in all of Kpop. I have often wondered how they find the time to do Exo music, albums and tours...sub-unit music, albums and tours: (ExoCBX -Chen/Baekhyun/Xiumin, and ExoSC -the rappers Chanyeol and Sehun), of course acting, musical theater, ALOT of modeling for high -end fashion, jewelry and parfum, ALOT of covers of high-end fashion magazines over the years...individual invitations to fashion week..(quick weekend trips to Milan, Paris and the South of France...and when they arrive the streets are gridlocked..packed with fans from the country waiting for said individual..tv shows, radio shows, variety shows, game shows...and recently individual solo albums and mvs which all adds to the mix of their SIDE projects...and SM works with them and their full schedules..but they keep in mind that THEY need to work around Exo group music and tours first and foremost. Now with military rotation, they try to work on solo music or group music involving members that are available...D.O. and Xiumin completed their service and just came home in January, Chen and Suho left early 2020, Chanyeol and Baekhyun just left this past April/May, and Kai is about to leave next, rumor has, but no date has been mentioned. With all this talent that each member possesses, since 2013.. has garnered Exo as the most hard working idols out there, and have made them a household name with years of exposure to the public forum... When it comes to acting in movies and dramas...omg.. With such a massive following, and we're talking around the world...being one of the most popular and beloved Kpop group to date...they have millions of fans who have seen and follow them...watching alot of the movies and dramas over the years, besides other fantastic movies and dramas S. Korea has to offer. So seeing a particular member in any of the acting roles is beyond exciting to see...fans throughout Asia, US, Europe, South America, have been bitten by the Kdrama bug...but to see Exo in anything is great to see. I have been watching Kdramas for 15 years, there's just something so addicting about them. So many great movies out there too. Not with Exo, just in general. I am a born and bred American in Hawaii and have stopped watching alot of American tv and/or listening to Western music for the most part once I discovered fantastic Kpop music in 2006, way before Exo came on the scene... But yeah, Exo are very busy year in and year out...they are on hiatus now...doing individual projects that they want to do... D.O. left for the military earlier than he had to, (mandatory before age 29) because when he came back this year he was scheduled to do 2 movies, so his schedule was set already.... But this man's voice soothes my soul...he kept the buzz cut for awhile after his "Swing Kids" movie. D.O. does not color his hair like the others, he does not wear earrings, he hates any make-up, he will not dress sexy, he HATES being called cute, he HATES being asked to do something cute, he HATES exercise and sweating, he does not care about having abs as the other members do, he doesn't like to call attention to himself, he doesn't act goofy like some other members, he scolds members but still takes care of them, he goes out of his way to feed the staff and make sure they are comfortable, that they have eaten, that they takes rest breaks.. .. from managers, producers, cameramen, he doesn't want them to work too hard and always checks on them, he's so respectful and caring for others before himself.... all of these things just adds to why I love him so much.💙🌺

No it's definitely the same in South Korea. They don't like idols starring in films and usually are very prejudice against them but D.O. has surprised the general public with his acting and has really won them over.

I fell in love with DO when I saw him in 100 Days My Prince. He's an amazing actor. Later on i found out he's an idol and they discovered how great a singer he is. After that i discovered EXO and totally stan them. Until now i really don't like kpop songs but EXO's discography are brilliant and yeah, the vocals!! DO is polite, funny, gentle and honest. Because DO is an actor, he didn't have time to promote his album as he is busy filming right now. He was still enlisting when he was confirmed in 2 movies. That is how popular he is in the film industry.

Yay Kyungsoo!! His voice is one of my favorites. I’m a huge rnb fan so he really appealed to me from the beginning. D.O.’s voice is so soothing and smooth. He’s this amazing person. So humble, kind, funny, sweet, talented and such a hard worker. He’s sometimes quiet but you can tell he is passionate about his work and his members. I’m glad you liked him. ☺️ EXO really has these amazing voices that mesh well but you’re still able to tell who is who. They are each so distinct and unique. I especially love when D.O. It's too soon to have a bias in EXO, you'll get wrecked by all the OT9 members. They're all so special and share the sweetest love and bond with one another. I really like and know a lot of kpop groups, but EXO stood out because of how insanely talented and special each member is, like they're the super group of all groups and have the best squad. Thank you for reacting D.O his my bias since 2013 and I'm so proud of him. I like the simplicity of Kyungsoo, his voice and acting was fantastic. D.O was one of a biggest star in Korea. They have a big respect for him, he is known for being a good friend, co-workers and his love all the staff he worked with. I remember reading one comment from they photographer, manager, director, and bodyguard how thankful and they respect to Kyungsoo. His always cares everyone around him. 😘🥰😁☺️

Honestly i do not like male kpop idols before, i do not like their hairstyles, their make ups, the way they dress and many thing abt them...but everything changes when i met that man, he's different, he's not a typical male idols...i've been obssesed to a man who does not rely on excessive make up, fancy clothing, abs and muscles to flex at the big crowd, i stan a man who does'nt need a sweet words to make you fell in love, his sincerity and good personality does, well im not saying that he's perfect nor he's not even trying to be perfect, but it seems like perfect is the one who's trying to be him...Do not ask me if why DO KYUNGSOO is my ultimate idol cuz if you know him well, well you also kniw my reason, he setted my standard beyond the limit

I really hope you check out his debut album Empathy. even if you dont want to react to it on KZbin, you should really check it out in your free time because its honestly a small and cozy piece of art. I'm not sure what your favorite music genre is but mine is RnB so if you like rnb too, please react to "I'm Fine" from his Empathy album. it's an acoustic rnb track with lyrics co written by D.O. himself and the song is sonically and lyrically so beautiful. the song is about how important it is to share your feeling with other people so you dont have to live with so many burdens on your own.

Hard to believe watching that guide and hearing how amazing his voice is that some consider him the second best singer in EXO* (Baekhyun’s considered the third best singer). If you would like to see him act one of his movies, Swing Kids and one of his dramas, 100 Days My Prince are available on Viki. You might have to deal with ads. Swing Kids and several other movies of his are available to rent on Amazon Prime Video. * Before anyone starts a reply about the “second best singer in EXO” remark, go back and read it. I said “some” not “I”. I can’t carry a tune in a bath tub, so I don’t rank singers. I will say this, I consider EXO’s vocal line second to none and if someone has an issue with that, I’m sorry it bothers you, but it’s my opinion.

I love D.O. so much......who am I kidding, I love them all so freaking much. D.O. does have a very soothing, distinct sound that just makes you melt and relax. If you've not gotten to see him shine much, here are a few suggestions to see what he can truly do. He loves to do covers with other members, mostly Chanyeol who loves to be his guitarist. They are so good together. I was hoping they would make a sub unit with D.O. soon, but his solo album is a wonderful beginning to be able to appreciate his R&B vocals. He is also known for being a master of languages. He has really mastered singing in english, spanish, japanese, manderin and his own korean of course. What I love the most about all of EXO members, is that no matter how big they are, they are the most humble people and what you see on camera is just who they are in real life. They're just so warm and loving on top of being very talented. You will see that in the other guides as well. "MAMA" is EXO's debut song. I think you'll be surprised by it since it's different and the best unique debut ever 😂 Also, D.O is an actor so that's why you see his shaved hairstyles because he does a lot of projects in between promoting with EXO, so except the very early days, he mostly has short black hair. He actually chose to enlist in July 2019 way before his the deadline because he had commitments to one of his movies that would return for a 3rd and 4th season and he's a major role in it. The person you mostly see playing an instrument in D.O's covers is Chanyeol. They have a lot of duets and Chanyeol being the multitalented man he is, he can play several instruments perfectly.

i was never the type of person that likes keeping up with celebrities (not ever since one direction at least lol), especially kpop, i never really got hooked to them even after watching other kpop groups since they seem too "forced" to me. i don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that they often try to please people by acting cutesy and doing whatever their fans want that it comes off as fake to me. when i discovered EXO back in march 2022, i was blown away by their music and was very interested (more than the other groups I've seen). i thought i was just gonna be casual listener, but Doh Kyungsoo happened to me. he was the first member that caught my eyes (visual-wise) and then i was so impressed that he's a spectacular singer and actor. i thought my admiration for him was only short-lived until i got to know his personality more. before i knew it, i became a massive dandanie (D.O.'s fans) and EXO-L because of him. it's so hard to find an incredibly humble, diligent, and well-mannered human that is naturally gifted with so many talents. he is person of great character, he excels in sooo MANY things and it's nice to see him put them to good use. there are so many reasons why i love him that i could write a whole guidebook about it so it really makes me very happy to see others appreciate him too. 😊

I have to tell u this if u didn't know It has a deeper meaning in him not being able to walk down the street without being recognized.. he was very expressive and smiles all the time when he debuted first but because of that idiot sasaeng fans his life was ruined..They even once went into Exo's dormitory and took D.O's boxers and sold it for 100 000 won.. his personality changed so much from this and he became more introverted.. In Korea idol-actors are common place. You're 100% right, it is totally different in Korea to be an Idol and an actor, than it is in the U.S. I agree, in the U.S. a singer who tries to be an actor is often thought of as a sellout and washed up. But idols are expected to be allarounders and they are supposed to have a career in all aspects of the entertainment industry -- as singers, musicians, TV and movie actors, musical stage actors, variety show cast members and hosts, etc. When not promoting with their group idols are all expected to have side projects and have other careers. As an Idol it's your job to get your face out there in as many places as possible and to promote yourself and your group by appearing in as many forms of media as you can. (That's why the majority of idols are actors and why many actors are also good singers -- as an entertainer you're expected to do it all.) The difference between the entertainment industries in the U.S. and Korea is something a lot of foreign idols mention when they are asked what it's like to be in the Kpop industry. And for idols who try to transition from being a Kpop star to making music in the U.S. this is one of the most difficult things for them. In the U.S. if you are involved in too many different things such as being an actor and a singer, the music industry often treats you like you aren't focused enough and that you aren't serious about being a singer. However, in Korea it's the complete opposite, if you aren't diverse enough and involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry, you are looked at like you aren't trying hard enough or aren't serious about being an idol. Idols who aren't actors are actually often asked why they haven't gotten into acting. For example, Jonghyun from SHINee was the only one out of all the SHINee members that wasn't an actor and/or didn't appear on variety shows outside of promoting with SHINee, so he often got teased and questioned in interviews about the fact that people never saw him outside of music. However, Jonghyun was all about being behind the scenes as the one who was creating and producing the music, so he was super busy, people just never SAW him on TV programs and in K-dramas and movies or as a regular cast member on variety shows like the rest of the members -- and like 95% of the Kpop industry. Jonghyun was one of the most well respected producers/songwriters and composers in Kpop and he was one of the most beloved Radio DJs -- hosting his own radio program called Blue Night every night at midnight for 3 years. But because people only saw him on TV when he was promoting with SHINee, people in the entertainment industry often thought he was unusual. As an actor, D.O.'s short hair is part of the characters he plays. D.O. cut his hair short and had a buzz cut because at that time he was starring in an international movie called "Swing Kids" where he was playing a North Korean soldier who was a prisoner of war during the Korean War in the 1950s, so he had that haircut for his character in the movie. The movie took a really long time to shoot, so D.O. had that short hair for a pretty long time. He also had short hair in several other movies and K-dramas where he played a soldier, etc. (As an actor D.O.'s look is dictated by whatever his character in the movie or drama calls for, so he doesn't follow the normal Idol standard when it comes to his hairstyles, and that is also one reason why you almost never see him dye his hair.) And then he enlisted for real in the military where he had to have short hair also, so he kept his short hairstyle for that as well. You should check out "Swing Kids" -- a while ago I saw that it was one of KZbin's free movies. As you saw in the guide, D.O.'s character in "Swing Kids" joins a dance group where they become a tap dancing troupe to entertain the soldiers, etc. So, D.O also learned how to tap dance for the movie and now he is really good. He spends a good part of the movie dancing. His character is supposed to be a really good dancer, so it's not like he could just pretend his way through the movie. He really learned some impressive tap routines. "Mama" is EXO's debut song, and if you want to understand even a little about EXO's storyline and concept you really need to check out both the EXO-K and EXO-M versions of "Mama." "Mama" sets up EXO's whole storyline and explains why they are here on Earth.

yup it is same also same in korea. it's actually much worse there especially when kpop idols star in movies or tv shows (bc most of them can't really act) but kyungsoo is one of the accepted and known idol-actor in korea and he rlly proved it on his projects.

Last quarter of 2017 and the whole year of 2018 was D.O busy years. He got world tour with the members on elyxion and after that he got to act on his movie "swing kids", that's why most of the clip in the video was D.O with that short hair, because most of the clip was taken during elyxion era. D.O with his acting work never fails, he always had the best on his act. He is the fave member of the member's mothers, because of his acting on his kdramas and movies. D.O who felt never fit in the world of idol, the one who several times thinking on quit being an idol, yet he always gave the best effort of his work to the fans. We all love D.O ❤️

There is a lot of prejudice against idol actors but DO has single handedly broken that concept and open people's minds, giving other idol actors the opportunity to show more of their talent. I wish he would get more credit for opening the doors for other idols than what he's given
