EXO debut in 2012 with 12 members, 8 Koreans and 4 Chinese. In 2014 - 2015, 3 Chinese members left due to various issues. Out of 9 members, 7 (Lay, Chen, Suho, Baekhyun, D.O., Kai and Xiumin) already have successful albums. Lay, the only Chinese member, is still EXO even though his contract with SM ended in April 2022. EXO means outer, it means that they're aliens from the planet EXO. All of them have powers, and the MVs are connected to their storyline. EXO's name came from "the EXO Planet", which is the name of a planet outside of the solar system, and it indicates the idea that EXO members are basically aliens, since their *skills and talents are out of this world!* EXO actually was *the first Kpop group* who debuted with *a storyline concept.* After EXO, all other groups follow along having "storylines." And EXO's storyline is that they're aliens from EXO Planet, and they came to earth to fight their main enemy which is called "The Red Force", that is trying to destroy/disrupt the world, and also trying to take EXO members' powers. It's kinda funny when you said that your computer froze bcuz of EXO's power, cuz *they do have powers!* With the current official 9 members of EXO, their powers are: Suho=control Water, Xiumin=Ice/snow, Baekhyun=control Light, Lay=Healing, Chen=Thunder/lightening, Chanyeol=Fire, D.O.=Earth/strength, Kai=Teleportation, and Sehun=Wind/air. And bcuz of their storyline and powers, all of their MVs have connections with the story, and also, their powers will always be shown/represented in every MV (It's a really complicated story, btw, I'm not even sure I know the whole storyline of EXO, and I've been a huge fan for 6 years). Anyway, to introduce about EXO, EXO is *a heavily vocal-based kpop group* that currently has 9 members (3 previous members left in 2014&2015), 8 members are S.Korean and 1 member is Chinese (Lay). Lay is still a member of EXO, but sometimes you don't see him in some MVs bcuz since around 2016, he's been busy with his solo career in China, and besides, since 2017, cuz there was some tension between S.Korea and China, China forbid their artists to be involved in any activities that has connections with S.Korea, that's why Lay hasn't been active with EXO since 2017. But, he's still a member, and even managed to make small appearance in EXO "Tempo" MV, and he was involved in EXO's latest mini album "Don't Fight The Feeling". Anyway, back to EXO. EXO is *widely known as "The Vocal Kings of Kpop"* since all members are *amazing singers,* even the rappers. They have 3 incomparable main vocalists, Baekhyun, Chen, & D.O. And 2 lead vocalists, Suho & Xiumin, who critics said would have been main vocalists in other groups, but since it's EXO, they became lead vocalists instead. There are 2 main rappers, Chanyeol & Sehun, two of the tallest members (Chanyeol initially was a singer, and he can sing so beautifully, but since he has a very deep voice, he became the rapper, officially). And also 2 main dancers, Kai & Lay, who are also amazing singers and soloists. And as I mentioned before, EXO is a heavily vocal-based group. So, eventhough they have amazing rappers, and amazing rap parts in their songs, most EXO's songs are more melodic, and the vocal production in every EXO's song is *incomparable* compare to other groups. EXO's members' singing skills & techniques, *harmonizations,* and *ad-libs/runs/riffs* are *the best in kpop!* And not only that, they're live performances are in tandem with how amazing they sound in recordings. Their live performances are just one of the best of the best in the world, and that's why they hold the record of *"The Fastest Sold-out Concert Tickets in The World"* with 0.2 second. Yes, their concert tickets were sold-out in zero point two second, the record that hasn't been broken by any other artists. Anyway, *EXO is LEGENDARY!* They debuted officially in 2012, and was the first Kpop group in 12 years, to sell more than 1 million copies of album, back in 2013 with their 1st full album, when it was *so hard* for any artists to sell even 100 thousand copies of album at that time. They were the first 21st century S.Korean artists to sell more than 10 million copies of albums back in 2018. And since their debut, their success has been constant, and they have the most loyal fandom in the world! They never went "viral", bcuz they never needed to, but they're dubbed as "The Nation's Pick" by the public, and they even performed at the closing ceremony of Winter Olympics 2017/2018, which strengthened their *legendary* status. And not only that, *EXO is the most multi-talented male Kpop group* too. All EXO members are successful in the 3 big industries: Music, Acting (movies, TV, & musical theatre), and Fashion/Beauty. 7 out of the 9 members are successful solo artists. All members are actors (6 out of 9 are movie actors, 8 are drama series actors, & 6 are musical theatre actors). And all are models, but more importantly, 6 out of 9 members are Global Ambassadors of Luxury brands (Baekhyun=Burberry, Suho=Bvlgari, Lay=Valentino & Calvin Klein, Chanyeol=Prada, Kai=Gucci, & Sehun=Dior). EXO aren't just "idols", but they are *artists!* And they conquere the whole South Korean Entertainment Industry. In order to understand the story in EXO's "Monster" MV, as well as all of EXO's content, you have to know that it's all connected, and every new piece that's introduced explains a little more of EXO's story. Each MV is like another chapter in SM Entertainment's SM Culture Universe storyline and it's all part of a larger story that also includes the majority of SM's other groups and artists storylines. It's like one giant graphic novel or mystery movie series. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything -- including all of their MVs, the majority of their sub-sub-unit MVs and members' solo MVs, teaser videos, concert stages, concert VCRs (videos played in between sets at concerts) and choreography, as well as special content included with their albums, etc. -- is designed to help tell a little more of EXO's story. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from Planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. And as otherworldly beings, each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them. Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. "Monster" was released in 2016, so there are 9 members in this MV. As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." So the floating watch and the car that is on fire in reverse, etc., I think was -- on top of being a metaphor in the story -- also supposed to be the members using their superpowers. And the snake, like a monster, mirrors the beat of the song, which kind of slithers like a snake as a metaphor for the way the guy slithers in and out of the relationship stealing warmth and affection from the girl, but in the end, leaving her cold and alone like a cold-blooded snake, etc. The snake is also red, which means that it most likely represents something to do with the the Red Force. However, the lyrics of the song have very little to do with the story in the MV. If you want to understand the song, you should look up an English translation of the lyrics. Because the lyrics tell a different story than the story in the MV. In the song the members are talking about a girl and they are telling the girl that "You can call me Monster" because I know I am bad for you and I will ruin you. I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. But the MV is about EXO's origin story and about the fact that they have come to Earth on a mission. Also, the majority of the choreography for "Monster" has to do with the members using their powers, so when/if you watch the dance practice and/or watch a live performance, if you know what you are looking for, you will see that each move is done for a very specific reason. The X they make to represent EXO is only the beginning of the story in their choreography. Every move of the choreography has been designed to be an extension of their story and it uses elements of their dance to represent several of the members using their powers. For example, D.O. has the power of super strength, so during his part in the song and choreography you will see that he waves his hands and the other members are pushed away from him or pulled toward him. When you see Suho in the middle of the group and they have a hold of his arms, he rotates his body around like swirling water because Suho has the power to control water. Xiumin has the power to control snow/ice/frost, so during one part of the choreography you will see that each of the members pause as if frozen as he moves in front of them. Sehun has the power to control wind, so during his parts, you will see the other members shuffle around him as if they are creating a windstorm. And the part where they are sitting on the ground is supposed to represent a sundial -- EXO gets their power from the eclipse and their powers are affected by planetary and solar phenomenon, so the sundial is meant to represent the passing of time and their connection to the sun. You should also make note that "Lotto" is a prequel to "Monster," so when you watch their "Lotto" MV, just keep in mind that what you saw happen in "Monster" is what is going to take place after or in conjunction with the events in "Lotto". How "Monster" and "Lotto" tie into EXOs larger storyline is a little open ended, but because "Lotto" is thought to be the prequel to "Monster," I think the story starts out in "Lotto" where the members have somehow infiltrated this big gambling ring and are undercover as they work to uncover a clue or something they need in order to accomplish their tasks here on Earth. I think the underground gambling establishment is run by a gang of bad guys who are probably members of the Red Force. "Lotto" is where we are introduced to a girl who is being held captive. And ultimately, I think what EXO are trying to do is rescue the girl from the Red Force, but they are trying to do it without blowing their cover or being found out. So, that's why you see in "Lotto," and continued in "Monster," the members are fighting against the police because the police have come in to take down the gambling ring and rescue the girl, which is also what EXO are trying to do. However, the members of EXO don't want to be discovered, so they play along as if they are part of the bad guys. EXO are supposed to be going about their tasks here on Earth incognito, and humanity is never supposed to find out that EXO are other-worldly beings, so they are trying to keep a low profile. As we see in the end of "Monster," Baekhyun disguises himself as one of the police and helps the other members escape from the back of the police van before they are taken to jail and/or captured by the Red Force, etc. (However, if you look closely, the members who are in the back of the police van are dressed in red, so the ones who Baekhyun rescued may be X-EXO and not EXO like we originally thought. Although I'm not sure whether at this point Baekhyun realizes these aren't the EXO members. Or maybe Baekhyun is also a member of X-EXO. Just another giant mystery we have yet to solve.) You also see Lay crouched in the middle of what looks like a pile of people -- I'm not sure whether these are the FBI agents, or if these are members of the Red Force -- and I think he is checking to make sure they are OK and possibly trying to use his power of healing to fix things and heal the injured. Because some theories believe that EXO are traveling between time periods and dimensions, I think in "Monster" they also might be showing how some of the members are arriving on scene at different moments in the timeline of events that are taking place in the MV -- the members don't necessarily arrive at the location together -- as explained in their Pathcode teaser videos leading up to their "Call Me Baby" comeback. For instance, in "Monster" you also see Kai standing on or near a giant pile of people as well, and he seems to be standing over them. Some have pointed to this as possibly showing evil X-EXO Kai -- Kai's alter ego clone that was created by the Red Forced and introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV -- who has done something bad, but I think this may be showing good EXO Kai, who has just shown up at that moment, observing what has taken place. Because Kai has the power of teleportation he is the one that is in charge of bringing the members together and traveling between time and space, so I think he has shown up from a different time or place and is now trying to figure out what has happened, etc. In EXO's "Obsession" MV the members in the bright colored clothing with the crazy makeup and hair are supposed to be X-EXO and the ones in the black or dark colored clothing are supposed to be EXO. So, in the parts where they are dressed in all black in "Monster" I think this is showing EXO, and where you see them in the clothing with red accents, this might by showing X-EXO. At the time when "Monster" was first released, we had no idea about X-EXO's existence, but since "Obsession", we have started to go back and reanalyze some of their older MVs, and it appears that what we thought was always EXO, may have been in fact X-EXO some of the time. As you can see, EXO's story is always evolving and changing, and just when you think you have one part understood, SM introduces a new piece of the story and changes the direction of the narrative. Also pay attention to when you see red and blue. In EXO's MVs when you see red light or red objects this is where the Red Force has control, and when you see blue light or blue objects this is where EXO has the upperhand. However, if you see purple or red and blue in the same scene this is when EXO and the Red Force are battling for control -- red and blue mixed together make purple. Unfortunately, as you can see, what makes EXO's storyline even more difficult to follow is the fact that nothing is ever in chronological order. So you really have to pay close attention to every detail, to even begin to make connections.

EXO is known to fans as a group that always brings up the eclipse phenomenon in its albums. SM seems to have prepared the concept in each of his group's comebacks since they debuted. The first is the release of "MAMA" which took place on April 7, 2012. On the same date in 1940, a Solar Eclipse occurred. Likewise with other successive comebacks namely, "Growl" July 31, 2013, "Overdose" May 6, 2014, and "KoKoBop" July 18, 2017. Maybe SM Ent. did have planned it all. It is not certain whether EXO will make a comeback in the near future, but there are many rumors. EXO IS OT9, LAY IS STILL PART OF THE GROUP (Part-time); he has stated multiple times during interviews that he has no plans on leaving the group and he even said that EXO are “Brothers for Life”. LAY is just not fully under SM anymore but established a new kind of relationship since he has his own agency in CHINA which I should add SM Ent provided to LAY when he had to go back to CHINA to promote as a separated EXO member as well as solo music which turned into being stuck in CHINA away from his Korean brothers for over six years. *LAY has been with EXO since day one and stuck with them for past 10+ years (longer then his former three Chinese members), so his long planned SM Ent departure was NOT that sudden if he has been discussing things over for awhile with SM and EXO behind closed doors etc.* IT LITERALLY ANGERS ME TO SEE IS THAT PEOPLE CONTINUE TO IGNORE THE DEEP LOVE AND APPRECIATION THAT LAY HAS FOR EXO AND THE FACT THAT HE DEEPLY MISSES THEM, WISHING THAT HE COULD BE WITH THEM (IN-PERSON) EVER SINCE HE HAD TO GO BACK TO CHINA. IN ALMOST EVERYTHING HE DOES LAY ALWAYS TRIES TO MAKE SURE TO MENTION EXO AND THE AFFECTION FOR HIS MEMBERS. *IN HIS DEPARTURE LETTER FROM SM, HE NEVER SAID HE WAS DEPARTING FROM THE GROUP; JUST SM AND HE WOULD ALWAYS BE EXO LAY (AKA ZHANG YIXING) XOXO* He basically did what BigBang TOP did when left YG but he is still Bigbang member along with GD, Taeyang and Daesung.

Previous Day , Lay did a IG live , He speaks in 3 languages (English /Chinese and Korean) I mean He didn't had to do that , Last time he did promotion in Korea is 6 years earlier, yet he answered all the Korean Fans, Talk abt Xiumin's album being cool . So , It's a big sign that Lay is still with EXO . Also our baby Sehun shared Lay's veil MV in his IG and ask L to support his Hyung. It quite clear that EXO is still 9 , but Circumstances around them is different from new groups , they just can't be together all the time doing shows n varieties and as a fan we should understand it , If SM decided to give them a little more care they can have a ot9 CB despite having hectic schedules.

Zhang Yi-Xing (LAY) made a solo comeback with his first full album released two tracks; pre-release “Give Me A Chance” which was on his bday within the same week dropped title track “Namanana”. As of right now he’s still currently having to promote as an active solo artist for the past five years now and he also had finally made it to the 2019 Grammys red carpet along with BTS and GOT7 Jackson Wang. LAY played a main role in a chinese drama called “The Golden Eyes” which you can watch with VIKI TV app with free standard membership.* Before pandemic Lay was traveling back forth to China promoting his solo music on top of EXO which has been causing non-stop childish fanwars between international, korean, and local fandoms since China literally has kept him on his toes doing overload of Chinese related events on top of his overly busy schedule. He has constantly said he tries to continue helping his brothers EXO when he can but on low-key terms; also he has a previous single track/MV called “Grandma” which is about his deep love & gratitude for his grandmother who he misses very much where I heard he filmed in his old hometown. Kai has a few dramas and movies that he’s done overtime & some artist collaborations along with Baekhyun who also has some artist collaborations of his own. Kyungsoo (D.O) has a few films and dramas that he’s starred in. Chanyeol had starred in drama called “Missing Nine” and has some solo songs where he sings & raps. Suho with Baekhyun had dominated fashion world when they attended Privé Alliance Event. Xiumin enlisted April 2019 and month later D.O decided its best to enlist early so he enlisted June 2019. Suho will be enlisting toward the end of the year. On other hand it’s reported that Chen, one of main vocalists is the first korean member of EXO to make a solo debut but he’s not the first EXO member overall to go solo. They are still a group; the members themselves are preparing for the next step in their career, so when the older members have to enlist for at least 1 1/2 to 2 whole years then return they have something to fall back on until the rest of the members return from military. On the other hand, Kris had played a role in the third XXX: Return of Xander Cage movie with Vin Diesel along with other roles before that and Luhan has also been in some chinese movies & dramas. Tao has a previous comeback called “AI”, the MV and song very interesting (I unfortunately haven’t heard much about Kris, Luhan, and Tao) besides their acting. Since there’s not much of EXO-M, Chen & Xiumin were added to EXO-K until LAY can someday return from his solo projects; he NEVER left the group nor has any plans to leave either. Lay has stated in many interviews that is he’s still part of EXO and doesn’t have plan on leaving the group, he’ll always be there for his brothers when he can be when they need him and also he’s said that “Namanana” (which is his first solo title album) he made the word up that was inspired by the lion king song “Hakuna Matata”, his role is a traveling postman. He filmed in Western Australia and that one scene is called Pink Lake (Lol yes it’s a real lake) and another scene I believe it shows that he gains his healing [unicorn] superpower back from his power orb after opening the package which indicts he’s still with EXO.
