You captured the feeling of creepypasta perfectly~ I remember coming across some Pokemon creepypasta back in the day, and I was still very new to the internet, so I thought it was real for a hot minute lol When I found out it wasn't, it gave me a good laugh. Just like those old campfire tales

Excellent video essay! I’ve been a fan of creepypasta since I was young, MrCreepyPasta in particular was hugely inspiring to me. Now he’s a mutual oddly enough. Also I hope this vid gets some more attention, it’s well-produced, well-written, and the audio is pleasant to listen to. Keep it up!

I'm actually really taken by a lot of interesting points this makes, that I haven't really thought about. The verisimilitude of unknown authorship being one of them! Great stuff.

Oh man analog horror really is the successor, huh? People are just, actually MAKING the spooky media rather than writing about fake spooky media.

Hey man, I love what little I've seen of your content, I'll give you a little bit of me and my history here. Going off what you described in your Bayblade vidio we both grew up in little conservative pit towns. Each day a new thing every kid bought would be ran trough, we consumed memes without grasping what they were, how fast they went by. Among those fast obsessions were creepy pastas, sometimes retold as if they happened in our little chunk of shithole, sometimes told as they were, internet stories. For me? It was those shitty "Top 10 creepy pasta videos" from like 2014? They'd give summuries in a speedy fashion, and each one I found myself desprate to find and deep dive into. I for a long time couldn't fall asleep alot, a far too active mind hearing groans of trees and screams of ill fit wind, of all things to make my nightly background noise, it was creepy pastas. Every night, without exceptions I'd roll trough them. It started with Mr.CreepyPasta and than CreepsMcPasta. The tradition still lives however, my current posion and for the past 3 years now, has been the Dark Somnium. These stories to me are immensely important, I have my issues with where there development is taking them in the modern day, but I cannot describe to you how snugly they fit into my life. Honestly at times I want to make nightly reviews as they come, most of the times I think better of it but you know, glad someone shares that
