In our family we have a running theory that my dad is a natural null field. He 'nullifies' any kind of paranormal activity, he's been around people who've expirenced supernatural events, and even went to churches and priests for help; but never saw anything himself. And he noted that when my mom moved in with him, her generally good luck seemed to stop (As in, occasionally winning a 50-70$ lottery ticket.) We would absolutely purchase a dirt cheap house, because we like ghosts; don't plan on antagonizing them... and that's if they can do anything around my dad.

Since you like haunted house stories, here's one from when I lived in a sort of haunted house: I ended up getting talked into sharing a house with an acquaintance because the friend who had signed the lease with her decided to co-habitate with her boyfriend instead. My housemate was constantly having supernatural experiences in that house: hearing footsteps, seeing shadowy figures crawling across the floor, lights flickering and doors slamming for no apparent reason. When she let one of her friends crash on the couch for a month while he was searching for a place he could afford, he swore that whenever he was in the living room alone, he heard a woman's voice calling to him from the kitchen. When she threw a party for co-workers (lots of alcohol and many slept on the floor upstairs because they weren't sober enough to drive home), they swore someone shook them awake in the middle of the night and claimed to hear ghostly laughter. The only weird stuff that happened to me happened in that twilight zone between awake and asleep, so I can't say if it was a ghost or just the tail end of a dream. My housemate's explanation for why so little happened to me was that the house itself wasn't haunted, it was a spirit that had attached itself to her and followed her from place to place.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard you play the antagonist, and you played this role perfectly. Despite the nature of the story & the resultant death of a supposed friend, the main character was quite matter-of-face and even arrogant, but I assumed it was because of the relationship situation. But very gradually your blasé calmness began to show a hint of arrogance which slowly progressed to murderous malice. But rather than acknowledge what he is, our murderer blames his behavior on the victim and the depression he dealt with after the betrayal. But as we all know, depression-even deep depression, rarely results in the perpetration of a scheme that deliberately terrorizes innocent children & pets. Nor does depression cause you to methodically drive someone mad until you finally strangle them to death. What’s fascinating about this character is he proudly admits to deliberately terrorizing a friend’s family and murdering his friend, but he can’t admit what REALLY caused him to behave so horrifically, and that is that he is a psychopath! You did a superb job portraying this character as he went progressed from completely normal (if conceited and condescending) to completely mad. This is not only a horror story; it’s also a case study on what a psychopath can look and act like! 👍💞

Love the title… In AZ you must disclose if your home is haunted YES, it’s true. Let’s say you told your neighbors that weird things happen in your home and you think it’s haunted. No big deal right? You sell your home for the new buyers meet the neighbors and the neighbors tell the new buyer yeah Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith would tell us about the scary things that would happen in your house. The new buyer say what that was not in the disclosures. Believe it or not the new owners can go to the sellers and say guess what we no longer want the house you did not disclose this house was haunted. The sellers would have to buy back the house. Be careful what you tell your neighbors. Maybe some quirky little things happened doesn’t mean it was haunted but if the new buyers decide you know what after living here for one month we may have made a mistake. Although nothing hunting has happened they can use this as an excuse and by law in Arizona the sellers would have to purchase the home again. I always tell my sellers disclose everything unless you love the house so much you would love to buy it again.

Actually, it’s not so strange a rule. It’s a huge purchase so full disclosure is necessary. We were “strongly advised” by our agent to inform the new owners of activity in our house. But to make sure to assure them it was all friendly and it was focused on me. This was mainly because it was something that the neighborhood knew of as some of them had experienced it. The agent thought it a good idea that way we couldn’t be accused of non-disclosure. Funnily, the new owners were disappointed when they had no activity and, like expected, it moved with me.

Oddly...I was totally expecting that ending. Think I listen to far too many of these, lol. Apart from that ending these are actually a perfect set of common sense rules for hauntings. I will add something that very few will take seriously or believe: Even if the entity seems nice...don’t trust it!!! Circumstances change. I’ve been in a few places with entities. One was playful but liked to turn on the gas stove in the night. Had a chat with it and explained that was dangerous to us. Thankfully it stopped that little game. But my household ghost of many years was very good. Friends and family had heard it. The dogs didn’t mind it. But it followed me when I moved and without my dad as an authority figure it became possessive of me and harmful. In the end the story of what was happening reached a local spirit woman/healer who contacted me and asked if she could help. She was wonderful and helped so much. I’m no longer so trusting of the “nice” ones. Believe me or don’t. Just a warning.

Imagine you had a house that was just tapping into unknown physics like ghosts all the time. You could get government grants, the military would want in, con Edison could figure out how to power nyc, nasa and esa would pay to study it, imagine weightless ghost powered rockets, or energy that doesnt produce carbon emissions. It would just be an absolute gold mine, literally billions if not trillions of dollars.

Perhaps that's one of the chief reasons why it's common to see UFOs flying about & hovering over areas where supernatural & paranormal activity is thoroughly heightened & pervasive. I can only imagine that such unnatural & otherworldly forces & entities give off this type of mystical yet potent energy source that the UFOs can draw from & perhaps fuel themselves with. There is a link, a connection, as such areas that are awash in both supernatural & paranormal activity often have this incredible magnetic pull for UFOs. Think the Skinwalker Ranch out in Utah!

Ur narrations are priceless, Master Storyteller!!! The animation design just adds to the perfect creepy factor and they possess a certain "Tim Burton-esk" type of charm.

I lived in a haunted house as a kid and I loved that home. Unexplained phenomenon like witnessing stuff slide across the table never really scared me. Little kid me always had the logic of saying "I meant to put that on the floor" when something fell or "that's where I left" when I find something in the spot that I literally did not leave.

I tried to make my stories have this kind of flare. But I don't have artists that wanna draw, so I use low-quality images off Google, and it sucks. You are so fortunate!

Reading a confession would not make you an accessory to murder. That doesn't even make sense.

Knowing someone killed another person and not going to the police could in some cases make you an accessory to murder. So no, not reading the confession but witholding the information from the police.

Just one small question, the nightmares the kids had and the wife I understand the bruises and scratch marks could occur when sleeping but what about the nightmares? Also the house price was very low in the first place so did this person plan already to go to a viewing before the house was sold and put these things in the home with Noone knowing? Was that how the price was so low to begin with from other families constantly coming and going after similar incidents? Or was it since he was so tech savvy, he had the house already for the future with him and his ex but kept it quiet...created a fake posting and managing to have someone pretend to be the realtor confirming the price? I love these stories and that twist but I'm curious

The house might've actually had a history but not been haunted and he could've planted the stuff while helping move in.
