Another amazing video~! This is a must have for any starter base, and the modular sections allow easy customization if you have familiarity with Redstone. @7:31 - One thing I'll add for any readers, if your like me and don't like using pickaxes near hoppers/redstone due to something like Efficiency 5: --You can replace the Nether Wart Blocks (as seen in the timestamp) with (3) Normal Pistons (with it's face pushing out over the hoppers) -- --Then, just above those 3 newly replaced normal pistons, place (3) blocks of choice on top of those normal pistons WITH a button of choice on the face of that block. Now you can have an ease of access button to piston push your shulker box into the hopper with just a simple bare handed punch. (*Plus doesn't interact with Dropper-vator) Chef's Kiss, Easy and informative video making this for my GF's house as I send this - Keep up the great work!

Great video! So are hopper lines the most efficient feed line type in bedrock then? Or is a packed ice line with water that items are dropped into better?
@OmLeduАй бұрын
It just depends on what you're wanting, or what you view as better :D For water steams they are faster, but cause way way way more lag. There is also the issue of water streams being too fast for standard filters, & requiring an unloader section to keep items safe from despawning if used before something like a MIS. On top of that to even gain the speed benefit from water streams you would need a faster unloader as well. But if you aren't wanting speed; hopper lines are safer, less laggy, more versatile, but a bit more expensive than some ice & water :p To each their own really! I know some people who love using x2, 4 8 speed item sorters with water streams and minecarts. Or some super efficient farms will basically require water streams in order to keep up with the items. But for everything else, especially on multiplayer, I would just recommend hopper lines instead. Less lag, & less potential problemz.
@goldfitter1Ай бұрын
It really doesnt matter for 1x hopper speed. The reason i use water is mostly to the distance the items need to move before hitting the first filter. This way is cheaper for longer input lines. The downside is that you dont have 100% tilable filters or a non stackable filter available. So you should have the filters first then have the items going into hoppers before that. Lagg isnt a thing you should worry about with a 1x or 2x hopper speed filter. Maybe if you go 4x or 8x speed it could get extremely laggy. 2x, 4x and 8x speed can only be achieved with waterways.

Great video that is easy to follow and makes sense! How does the non-stackable item filter work? Is it possible because a sword (for example) has a higher redstone signal and unlocks the hopper below?
@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
@@jeepfan95 Yusss exactly! So non-stackables in a hopper has a signal strength of 3, where as stackables have a strength of 1. So as a non-stackable passes though the hopper, it is strong enough to unlock the hopper below it. That also means that you don't want multiple items to be in the hopper being read. So you don't want that hopper to be pulling from a container, only being pushed in to from another hopper. Where as the stackable's filter hopper is always unlocked, but it has no empty slots. So only items that are already in that hopper can fall down into it.
@jeepfan952 ай бұрын
@@OmLedu Thanks for the thorough explanation. Do you know if the multi item sorter will experience any issues if it is large enough to spawn multiple chunks? The reason I ask is I built a similar setup (in Bedrock across 3-4 chunks) previously, and I had a lot of items that would not get sorted and end up at the end of the line. I could visually see the redstone firing at different times within the same columns. Not sure if it was due to repeaters being added, so I don’t know if there is a way to prevent this from occurring.
@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
@@jeepfan95 So there are 3 "limitations" to building long MIS with 100s of chests 1. Item's are going to take forrrrrever to go through the system, so either need a manual flushing system (like the lever in this video) or like a 30+ minute timer that starts once all items have left the input for the MIS. 2. Simulation distance. On default sim 4, redstone 4 chucks away from a player are loaded. So if the miss goes past the 4th chunk, or the player moves away, then only half of the MIS will be active which could cause it to skip items or only half work. 3. The back rows activating the droppers and hoppers can not have any overlap. So when adding repeaters to extend the signal the rows need to be split into sections that are only connected by the extension line. Every vertical row needs the clock to be precise & overlapping signals will cause the pattern to skew. So basically every 14 horizontal chests need to be split so that that section is being powered by a single source with no overlap. The expandable MIS video I linked in the description goes into more detail about doing that. In general, I would recomend smaller MIS sorters. Especially since you always have to leave 1 item in every slot, having 200 chests can be a massive pain. Plus 90% of items are craft only, rare, or unobtainable, so they kinda sort themselves in the overflow on the rare occasion you use them. Like if you never, or rarely build out of sandstone, do we really need to sort every variation of sandstone type of thing. Like personally I only use 1 or 2 wood chests. Unless you build tons of things out of different wood, there isn't much benefit in making a chest for every variation of every type of wood. Really it all depends on what all you commonly use. I just see people (and myself in the past) make a chest for every little thing and then never use 80% of the chest. Or have less than 1 stack of items in like 100s of different chests. All in all it's up to you, what you use & what you need. So I'll give items I use allot their own chests. But things I rarely use I'll just merge together to save space, time, materials, & to speed up the overall sorting processsss

@@WindFlakez Yes & no! No, each cell can only sort 1 item. But!!! Like you can turn the chests sideways and have 2 cells going into each chest. Or! Like 1 chest just for cobble, but then the next chest have 5 filters tied to it for cobble variants etc etc.

In these storage systems, you always say they’re overflow protected. What does it mean that they’re overflow protected?
@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
@@lukepitt3249 Overflow protection is; if the chests fill up and then cause the hopper to fill up, nothing bad will happen. The items will just "overflow" out and go on down the line. But if the filter is not overflow protected, when the hopper fills up the redstone behind it will reach a strength of 4 causing the neighboring filters to drain their items. Once that happens, those hoppers are empty so all items going into the sorter will fall into those cells until you go in and redo everything. Non-overflow protected can be nice, to have more filler and less sorted items trapped, or to save space. But especially for generic tutorials it's nice to just avoid potential problems :D
@rajgamer40432 ай бұрын
Hey omledu it seems very helpful for storage tech 😊 could you make a new item filter😅 because in the first slot 41 item is very hard for those people who are new. So i think you can make a new item sorter / filter that use 1 item in fast slot 🙂
@OmLedu2 ай бұрын
@@rajgamer4043 Yeah, you can just use more filler items to avoid leaving 41 in there, buuuut then they won't be overflow protected. And tbf if 40 dirt is expensive then maybe is not quite time to build a bulk storage system yet X]]] For early game, a MIS would be the most practical for being super cheap. Then once someone get's up & running, throwing some filters on there for bulk storage gives a nice mix between cheap & effective >:D But yeah, again, any filter that doesn't have 41 of the item being sorted just isn't overflow protected. So if it fills up it will break the entire system. But for rare items, can either use 43 filler junk items + 2 of the item being filtered (nice to use 2 instead of 1 to account for lag spikes) or can build a non-overflow protected filter that only has 2 dust instead of 3. That would only need around 20 filler items instead of 40. And can alternate! Like if the first filter is dirt, but the 2nd is obsidian. Can leave the dirt overflow protected, but add filler to next filter so that the obsidian is not. They won't interfere with each other as long as you don't like totally fill up on obsidian x]]]

For me, sorting is very slow, so such an item the second is normal?
@OmLeduАй бұрын
@@teihk5490 Yes, MIS sorters are about half the speed of hopper lines since each hopper has to pull and push before the next hopper unlocks. For speed, basically the only options are x2 speed filters, water stream filters, or x4/8 hopper cart filters + water streams.
