A family is made up of individual people with their own thoughts, ideas, characters . As such, they should never be taken for granted . From the time I was little, I've always lived and believed in " Blood is thicker than water ". It means that your family should ALWAYS COME FIRST, over friends and strangers . They are a big part of my strength . However, over the past few years, I've come to realize that anytime you break away from your family by burning bridges behind you, YOU'RE the one who screwed up . And whatever awkwardness you feel coming back to them is entirely YOUR fault . When you split ties with your family, it might hurt them, but they will STILL maintain with or WITHOUT you . That awkwardness wasn't just caused by guilt over the way you split, it's also there because while you were away, the family still stayed strong and (in some cases) grew . That THIRD WHEEL feeling you have whenever you're with them is there because YOU CHOSE to stay OUT OF TOUCH. Sorry if this was long and I didn't write this in response to this video . I think their story was amazing . It's just that my family has been dealing with a similar issue (of my comment) for the past 6 years with my youngest sister and I just really needed to vent my anger over the issue .

Your statement is correct about blood being thicker than water. However, a blood clot. can Become an issue and a problem water flows naturally and can conform to any shape but seeing the term what is thicker than water is the same term oil and water do not mix family is water not blood. Water supports anything it’s poured into.

God bless you guys I'm so intrigued in this video that I'm watching I wish my family would be there for me too just like you guys became family my family considers me to be an outcast they don't show me no love they pushed me to the side and they don't give me a chance to prove how good hearted I am what can I do to change their mind to show them how much I love them and that I forgive them for pushing me to the side I just want to be part of my family I just want them to embrace me and love me and accept me for who I am so all I want

JENNIFER FLORES, being part of a family is not having to prove to them your love. FAMILY accepts YOU for just being you. Anyone that makes you feel like you must jump through hoops, put on a show, and bend to their will is someone who wants to control you not love you. We all desire to be apart of a family group but the family group is not always defined by blood. Jennifer, have you ever heard of Narcissistic Abuse?
