Sisssss when you’re out & a random black girl runs up & hugs you that’s going to be me! This is the first video out of allllll the expat families I’ve watched that broke this down in a way that really helped me know what to expect coming along with my kids. The underwear part was GREATLY appreciated. & you absolutely have made me realize I need to look outside of Accra for my budget. Many thanks.

@abby-a
@abby-a 4 жыл бұрын
@@cillygurlshops9423 Ghana in general is safe for the most part you might have a few killings here and there but its not like the killings and mass shootings we have in America. You have a Caribbean community and blk Americans that live in Aburi, you have black American that live in Cape Coast to. I don't know about Kumasi but I'm pretty sure that there might be some over there because that is the 2nd biggest city in Ghana after Accra) the Volta region you do have a few Blk Americans that live there as well. I don't know about Tema. But if you have a facebook they have groups for expats in ghana so they could probably help you out.

THose Numbers are definitely for a very very good living in Ghana, as an expatriate, I think most middle income Ghanains with multiple children leave on less.. The housing budget for eg is for a mansion type housing..I love it.. I rent my house on spintex (3 bedroom) to a young couple for 1200 Gh Cedis which is only about $ 250 or less, and its a pretty nice house in a good area, close to Accra..Hope when you are settled in, We can do a meet for some of us who follow you and are also Ghana bound...Cheers.

Luke appears to be very intelligent, articulate and handsome! I would make sure he had a tablet and/or a laptop. I think he sure seems responsible enough to have a cell phone and it would be good for emergencies.

Hi sis. Looking at your budget I think you should consider buying a home in Ghana because your budget is on a higher level. There are new buildings going up around greater tema area. Check out the Acheampong video they just posted. Thanks from Nevada. By the way Luke needs a phone.

I love following your channel, it's been very informative! My wife is Ghanaian and I am American and we plan to settle in Ghana. One thing that I would add to your list of costs that many people forget is the price of remittance or wire transfers. If someone has got this number down please let me know. We spend so much money just transferring money to Ghana because they take fees on each end of the transaction. If you are planning to move there and supplementing your life with money from the US or abroad you need to be aware of this sometimes overlooked fee. Thank you so much for sharing your journey!

With money apps like Sendwave around now, just maintain your bank account overseas. Maintain your telecommunication company such as T-mobile too and you will get transferred automatically to a local telecom company in Ghana. You can then have access to your bank app on your phone which will enable you to transfer money from your Sendwave app to a local mobile money account. You can also use your debit card to take money from the ATM’s at the local banks. You will however be charged $5.00 for each transaction at the banks.

Thank you so much for this breakdown, you like me is very detailed. I will have to travel to the states every year to maintain my citizenship so I did allow money for that tool But I was leaning toward The Gambia because it is much cheaper than Ghana according to KZbinrs living there. I'm told you must allow "tips" if you want to get things done there also. My wife and I will be visiting in January to check it out before making the plunge. However, my mind is made up, I will travel there and start the New Black Wall Street on the Motherland.

Hi Ayo, my namesake! Hi Luke, I really like your shirt. Locally made clothing is one of the many treasures I look forward to when I move to Ghana. Leaving London 🇬🇧to retire in Ghana is becoming more desirable for me as a pensioner. My planned monthly budget in Ghana GHS4,500 . With my retirement pension for basic living I hope to earn as a live-in after school nanny. If Luke is old enough for a cell phone he may be old enough to perform tasks for pocket money. If your quarters can accommodate a raised bed or two I would encourage Luke to take up a hobby or two. Growing vegetables, learning & helping to compost suitable kitchen waste, keeping a record of what grows. Or perform tasks like exploring maps and planning travel with a goal to earn the pocket money for his phone. 🧗🏾‍♀️? How does that sound? I would love to know and keep in touch. 🌻🌾

Thank you for the informative video. I am in the process of moving to Africa (Ghana) and found your budget numbers quite interesting. I would like to know if I divide the $30,000 by 4 will that result in the approximate annual cost for one person? FYI, most social security recipients get much less than $30,000 per year. On an unrelated topic, do you have any sage advice on how to find a committed female partner in Ghana? BTW, your son should have the phone, he appears to be responsible. Best wishes.

30,000 us-dollars divide by 4 for a single person is 7,500 us-dollars, which is equivalent to 42,750 Ghana-cedis per year including rent,,, That would be a bit risky to live on,,, to be honest,,,, But it is doable,,, My 3 Bedroom apartment for only me alone costs 1000 GH-Cedis per month equivalent to 175 us-dollars per month,,, You can get a two Bedroom Apartment less than 170 us-dollars per month. And then manage the rest by cutting out unnecessary costs wherever possible at the beginning till you are properly settled,,,,

I am loving your videos, can’t wait till you actually move and we see you document your new life in Ghana. I think Luke should get a phone if he’s over 12 you can always buy him a good secondhand phone not the latest model maybe an iPhone seven or eight. I think your family will live very well on this budget and you will have a great lifestyle in Ghana. And as for the close LOL I know what you mean about the hand washing but you can buy a good secondhand washing machine in Gana and just dry your clothes outdoors I’m sure you will have help they can do your ironing and your clothes will be fine good luck
