how is this glue different from the glue provided by Exped that came in the package with the mat?

The glue provided by EXPED has a shorter dry time. With EXPED Textile Glue, three layers are needed to complete the repair, with about 10-15 minutes per layer to complete the repair. This makes it about a 45-60 min repair. UV Glue is very quick to cure, once exposed to UV light. However, Seam Grip+WP has a much longer dry/cure time of about 6-8 hours. When in the field, no one has 8 hours to wait for glue to dry. So it is not the best choice for field repairs, but an excellent choice for home repairs, or when time allows. Hope that helps to explain.

My Megamat came with glue and patches but no infrared light or infrared glue. Can I use a generic infrared plastic glue/binder that I bought from Amazon and then the patches I got with my Megamat? Thanks.

Hi Greg, that is correct, the UV glue and light are not included with any EXPED products. They are after market tools that are available from a variety of sources. As far as the type of adhesive/glue used, it must be compatible with fabric, because that is the material the mats are made of. Please do not use glue that isn't designed to absorb into this fabric. For example, this fabric is not siliconized, so no siliconized glues should be used. For more information, please reach out direct to EXPED.

Whats the best way to fix a mat where the fabric is still air tight but the mat underneath is leaking and has caused a huge blister about 2ft Square? Disaster!!!
