do i need some air in it if i have the type of leak around the inflation valve when i put the seam grip on or totally deflated?

Well I have a sleeping pad no tears I sprayed it down with water no bubbles coming from the pad are valves, it's a slow leak any ideas please help

Fully submerge in Bath of water. It will bubble. No doubt about it.

It may not be a leak if you notice it losing pressure in the field. If it's cold outside the air in your pad will condense making it seem like it has a leak. Just add a little more air after the temperature drops, and your good to go

Maybe try rolling/ folding the pad a couple times in the bath to increase pressure? I have a microscopic pinhole, can't see it at all deflated.. after about an hour of submerging, I'd rolled the foot end over itself twice and the head end once, pushed down and finally heard its little whistle
