Strange what people will notice. My father was an amateur builder. He passed it on to me except the enthusiasm. The walls of the shop are old. Diagonal pine on outside walls ended in the early 50’s because of cost and an on going shortage of building materials post WS2. What does that have to do with experimental aircraft? Nothing. I have that thing where you can’t stay focused on one thing for very long. ADD

Ha my finger prints are all over that plane...lol. worked on the 3500 conversion at the factory. Have about 10 hours of flying time in it.

A man with a messy shop will 100% out preform any OCD child that thinks work isn't dirty. You can keep your lab coat and rubber gloves, ill be doing actual work in my dirty coveralls kid

Each to their own but imo turning the Moose into a tri gear is a backwards step. To me it doesn’t make sense to use the excuse of being a low time pilot . Plenty of pilots like me trained in tail wheel aircraft from the start, then did a easy conversion to tri gear later.

Example of more money than sense. If you need a capable gravel/soft field aircraft, use the C206 with the 29" tire STC. Plus insurance is cheaper than a Moose

The Moose really is an airframe looking for an engine. The O-540 doesn't cut it. I don't like automotive conversions. Neither will the mechanic at your local airfield. A Soviet era Russian Radial? No thanks. Good luck with the reliability and getting it serviced. A turbine engine seems like overkill. What the kitplane industry needs is an Aluminium equivalent to a Bearhawk Bravo (the 4-place Bearhawk). To Moose is simply too big.

You can get that Radial serviced at Barrett Precision Engines in Tulsa. People have been happy with it
