Ahh DC you proved up and now can proceed for two more sites to detect. Satisfying way to spend a Not Thursday

Home improvement stores have telescoping poles that are used by painters for about $20. They thread into the end of a paint roller or drywall sanding pads that can be modified to fit your coils. Modification of these basic pieces should be fairly simple.

What a great idea Charlie and it worked so well for you. There are ways to make life easier and you just made your exploring much easier sweetheart. It will give you extra time too I imagine, and you spend a lot in the woods exploring which I do enjoy watching. Good luck and happy hunting and hiking my friend God bless you and NinJen love and hugs Mary-Ellen LFOD UK

I got some carbon fiber tubing and did that for my AT MAX it's great to pack it in and once I'm on a site it's versatile I can use the coil and sling the control head over my shoulder or attach the other pieces and stand upright swing as usual. Necessity! It's a mother for inventor's! But we get the job done!👍

Cool detector hack, Charlie. Wondering if you ever thought about picking up a minelab go find? Small and very portable. I saw a used one on CL locally for under $100 the other day. GL and HH

Hey Charlie, what a great idea. It worked. You confirmed both sites. Knowing you and with some other viewers comments, you will make it work even better. Very cool Not Thursday. Joyce ❤️🇺🇸🙏

hey Charly... dunno what deal you guys have with Fisher but instead of cobbling something together you really should look into another detector.I have only a Simplex but its always in my Rucksack-its collapsible and fits ok with standart coil-even better with the smallest one! If i were you ,with a noice yt channel,who detects every day, i would for sure get me an xp deus or even better a deus2! ...it doesnt get any better,smaller and lighter( & pricier lols) than that! Looking forward to detecting season 2022 :)

If I haven't had medical issues. I would been out metal detecting. It's been on my bucket list, for years.

I'm a 71 yr old 100% disabled vet. I have not let my medical disabilities define how I was going to live my life. I go prospecting for gold and coin shoot using metal detectors. I mentored a young blind man who wanted to learn how to metal detect! I met another gentleman with medical issues and we have become great hunting partners! We don't hunt every day and we understand if one of us is not up to going out. It gives our wives peace of mind knowing that if something happens to one of us while we're out, the other is there to make sure we get medical attention. Fortunately, we have not had a situation arise. Find a good metal detector you can afford, maybe even find a hunting partner, and get out and enjoy this great hobby and check off one of your bucket list items!! Best wishes for successful hunting!

Boy the terrain in the beginning WOOF! But you made it thru and proved that the 2 old sites you found years ago were lived in. Now in future videos I'm excited to see what comes out of them. Great video. Thanks Charlie

Great idea Charlie, it worked, you could even add more little sections, some wing nuts and you can stand up again, very good, nicely done

Wow, that experiment worked! I’m still amazed at how well you read the land/surroundings. I try to see what you explain but maybe it’s not that visible on video. Anyways, good job and I look forward to seeing your next modifications.

Some years back I would backpack an old Tesoro Bandido with a 3-piece breakdown pole into a now heavily wooded WW1 training camp dumpsite. Backpacking made it much easier to meander thru the woods and at the same time stay low-profile.

Hi Charlie, try using a telescoping baton. They are extremely sturdy and relatively light and I don’t believe that NH classifies it as a weapon.

hey just a thought you could ditch the handle completely and quickly just find a branch at your destination and cut it down and screw it on fairly quickly, that way you could still have a long handle to swing with.

If a walking stick/staff is feasible option for the areas that you hike in you might want to cobble a way to attach metal detector to one. that way the staff does double duty and makes it cost effective for the extra weight. just a idea. I personally have trouble just walking to my car. LOL

@patrickmooney41352 жыл бұрын
Perhaps an aluminum folding cane would work well as a handle... You could just strap it to the back or side of your pack. Just a thought.

Some wing nuts and lightweight aluminum tubing would sure save your back, and still fit in your pack with minimal weight. Keep swinging. 😁😀

Maybe a small aluminum telescopic pole. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
@lowracer12 жыл бұрын
I keep thinking that aluminum pole would mess with the coil. Aluminum is a metal don't forget.
@dalemiller41882 жыл бұрын
@@lowracer1 Yes you are right. Do they make pvc telescopic poles?
@lowracer12 жыл бұрын
Don't know about pvc. Pvc needs thicker walls so to not be flimsy. They do make carbon fiber ones though.
@dhankins512 жыл бұрын
such a great idea!
@lowracer12 жыл бұрын
Doh....too funny. I was looking at carbon fiber telescoping poles online . Couple quick lock disconnects and it could actually just replace your stock shaft. Should be able to collapse the entire detector down to fit in the pack and then still have a full length detector.
