Henry, I’ve been watching your videos for a few weeks now, and I have to say I’m absolutely delighted by your pure enthusiasm and appreciation for photography, and your interactions with the beautiful outdoors. Each of your videos are educational, calming and a treat to watch. Thank you for all you do.

Wouldn’t call it a fail mate, very entertaining and enjoyable as always. Like I’ve said before you should have your own TV series (I worked as a producer at Discovery for 16 years so I know what I’m talking about )

Love all of your videos Henry. It is great to see someone just enjoying the experience of being out there and on the side taking great photos. Keep up the great videos and attitude and look forward to your next one. One more thing, I notice you are putting up more shots from the Olympus and I am loving them. I am a Nikon full-frame shooter but have discovered how much I love shooting with my Olympus. Keep them coming!!!

I know exactly what you mean with a blown out sky. I took a shot not long ago on the edge of the Beacon Fell Country Park, there was a mist over the land with what I would call a watery sun, which was casting some great defused light across the landscape, but causing a bright spot in the sky. I took the shot and I liked the result, but on a forum I posted it all the comments were the sky is blown, but that was how it looked so that was what I took, and that was how I left it. Great video as ever love the last running about bit, we've all been there.

As they say....variety is the spice of life. Even if its didn't pan out to your liking with the images Henry, it still looked a good day out and you have came back with knowledge of the area so if you decided to return you know what to try differently next time

Always a treat to see all that green pasture land and hear your thoughts. Thanks to you I used longer exposures on my last hike to Hueco Tanks. The colors and sharpness came through like never before. Thanks for the lessons and adventures!

Thanks Henry for talking us through your thoughts. I found it really helpful that you didn’t know what to photograph. It can be a struggle sometimes and it’s good to acknowledge that. I particularly loved the image of Windermere.

I love you! I'm so pleased to hear that you weren't 'feeling' it. I often make huge efforts to get out only to find the conditions/area/me so lacking and meh! And other times it just flows...can't take a bad photo (rare) Beautiful area. Beautiful video. Well done young Henry and thank you

Great video Henry. Definitely not a fail, each fell is unique and has something to offer. I think that's the fun part of landscape photography, working out what the story behind the scene is.

Loved the first shot Henry. Great! You were chinwagging away with the sunset and my experience is that the light changes fast. So you have to remain focused (pun not intended!) and get on with it. What I like is to capture images of the effect of the sunset on the land, water..... away from the sunset itself. I enjoy that.

Henry, I am currently in North Yorkshire, found some still fresh bluebells and wild garlic together, but still can't find the right composition, either the light is wrong or the conditions..... or maybe its just me. Sometimes it goes that way.... it's photography. I love your enthusiasm, you keep me inspired anyway 😁

I like the first photo I can understand not being able to find a composition as for you I find you have this very natural ability to find a composition so I understand the frustration. Maybe you should have picked a different fell for the evening - lol Oh well ya gotta get them all in. That's another one off your list.

I always feel overwhelmed during hiking. I don't know what to photograph! There's plenty of beauty around me, but I just can't think or find or see enough to photograph anything. I end up clicking anyways. But I want to learn to make conscious decision without feeling overwhelmed.

That's not what i call a fail Henry. You got 3 images, had a nice walk and it was sunny and dry. Image 1 was great mate, i like the way you can see the small photo within a large scene. Great video as always mate, roll on number 16.
@AliasJimWirth3 жыл бұрын
Enjoyed the video. I always learn something too. I often overlook the possible composition in the distance. I liked the trees on the side of the hill which were quite far off. I would not have noticed that, probably. Now I will be more aware of that possibility. Thanks, Henry.

We really liked this one, Henry. God’s Country; that’s where you are, mate. Those late late sunsets bring back fond memories of my times in the UK. Used to go to the big oil show up in Aberdeen. And by golly your videos, photos look grand on my new iPad Pro lol. Keep ‘em coming!

The Joy of Photography. Not always a thing :-) I know you like that Tokina11-16f2.8, but do think of sacrificing one f-stop for the Tokina ATX 12-28f4 A beautiful sharp lens with great colour saturation, and so much more versatile. I sold one once, and had to get another about a year later and acknowledge it was a moment of madness selling it. Fortunately they aren't to high priced on the S/H market. That extra 10m makes a big difference at these focal lengths. Always look forward to sitting down to watch your vids mate. They are inspirational and make e want to go out in my local Tasmanian landscape even more.

Hi Henry, from your perspective it was not an evening full of majestic images. From my perspective you produced two more than acceptable images. that you spotted and photographed the trees is testament to your photographic prowess. i was entertained and enthralled by the views but also by your innate enthusiasm and character.. Onward and upward young Henry, another day, and fell, beckon.. Look forward to your next adventure..

I wonder whether or not your opinion has changed when you saw the images. I honestly think they are all beautiful. Yes. The 7200 has a larger sensor but there's enough zoom to get the same shot.

Shooting sunsets is actually not very easy and it’s why I do use graduated filters as it makes it so much easier. ..I’m actually not a massive fan of bracketing images and then having to stack them in post I find it tedious and doesn’t always work out anyway I prefer to shoot single shots with a simple graduated filter.
@steveboys53693 жыл бұрын
A little different this time Henry, but different is good too. Can't help but think that at 9:39 I saw a big letter H on its side in the sky .. or maybe I'm just losing the plot. Maybe you're just seeing who was paying attention. Anyhow, another grand day out, and as ever thanks for sharing.

Not saying that you failed Henry, just you weren’t that impressed with it. Often wonder why so many photographers don’t like to point a long lens directly at a sunset. 300 mm, Mountain tops, bit of clouds and a big ass sun, simple. But that’s just me. Like you said earlier, there’s images everywhere. Till the next adventure Henry. Stay safe 😷🇦🇺 15/214

Yes, the mountains are doing the work for you. Come down to my part of the world, Henry, and spend a week here in the flat lands of Norfolk and see how difficult Landscapes can be! It's a serious offer, by the way. I have accommodation and a large cruiser on the Broads. Bung me an email.
