I would have no problem selling it. I would hype that thing up, gain a ton of interest in it, and sell it for as much as I could get for it. Money would go a lot further than a trinket sitting in a desk drawer. However, the original comment had nothing to do with selling the item, but rather the claims; or refuting of the items authenticity; and those who were claiming it was not BtK, or Patty Garrett.

It doesn't look remotely like either in comparison to known photographs of the pair. However, Pat and Billy were friends and the undue haste with which Billy was buried before formal identification speaks to me of deception. The public loved photos of dead outlaws yet none exist of Billy whose staged death was convenient for both catapulting Pat to national celebrity and Billy to an annonymous new life.

I paused it and pointed each one out - even Dirty Dave! Pat Garret was elected Sheriff of Lincoln County in November 2, 1880 which is three months after the date on the photo you gave, so there's nothing to explain because both were living in Fort Sumner for a couple of years at the time of the photo, so they would've known each other because the population wasn't that big back then.

The supposed "signature" of Pat Garrett is about 1/16 of an inch high. (The tintype is about 3 inches by 3 1/4 inches.) I would love for the "experts" to show us how Garrett signed a legible signature that size. Did he use a magnifying glass and an acupuncture needle?

With it having Pat Garrett and Billy the kid in the same photo being such a rare find by itself worth unknown high amount of money, then throw in Dave Rudobough ( if I spelled his last name right) that not only had close ties to Billy the kid but Dave also had very close ties to Doc Holiday that was verified and I believe ties to Wyatt Earp but not as strong as with Doc Holiday. So having Dave in the photo to just increases the value to a unheard of level I am positive.

An amazing discovery. And this photo does give some credence to Brushy Bill Roberts claim. If not Brushy being the Kid, then at least his story that Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett were friends at one time. Just maybe the movie Young Guns 2 is actually more non-fiction than fiction. Even before I ever heard the tale of Brushy Bill Roberts I questioned certain things regarding Pat Garretts story and the aftermath of him killing the Kid. First, why would they bury the Kid right away and not return his body to show the authorities the Kid was dead? Yes, they have the testimony of the officers that assisted Garrett, but there would have been no doubt if Garrett had taken the body back with him.

It’s pretty simple on why they’re in the same pic months before he arrest him….. it was all a front. Pat was never going to give up his pal Billy and the whole arrest and escape was a set up. Pat wanted the reward money and Billy was never really gonna be arrested but just went along with it. Proof is how did Billy get a hold of a gun for the great escape? Someone left a gun for him in the back house (bathroom) I wonder who? (Pat) and Billy never was never killed by Pat. The body was never viewed which they always did back in the days with every outlaw except in Billy’s case.

Garrett may have rustled cattle with Billy following the Kid's escape from the Lincoln County jail in 1879. Billy went on a rustling tear after that, hitting the big ranchers in the Texas Panhandle hard enough for them to hire men to go after him and their cattle. Unlike the guys in this photo, Garrett likely took part in a few of those raids.

I question these so-called "experts" because I have eyes. Here is my criteria; ALL facial feature need to match the tintype photo. In this picture, the noses do not match. The tintype Billy's nose is longer and thinner Along with the jaws not matching either. Unless you want to argue that the tintype is not the real Billy the Kid. The croquet picture is the closest match but the face is blurred and the ears do not come close of matching. These experts have failed to convince me along with others of a "match." If you have a Billy the Kid hat, you can be mistaken as Billy the Kid...

I know several years ago there were relatives of the guy in Texas who was saying he was Billy the Kid that was wanting a DNA test done with that guy, the guy who's buried in Billy the Kid's grave and Billy's mother and New Mexico's Governor refused to allow them to dig up the body that's buried in Billy the Kid's grave to have those DNA test done. Brushy Bill is a proven impersonator- Theres a pic of him with a friend pretending to be one of the James gang earlier in his career- he has been debunked. He could never write well in all his years- comparable to a five year old- while Kid Antrum (william Bonnie) had a known ability to write well. Theres a lot more that doesn't add up. Explain how BRUSHY Told he was shot in the jaw in a shootout with Garrett and his deputies the night Billy was supposed to be killed . He never had a scar on his jaw ? Don't you reckon a .45 wouldn't leave your jaw abit messed up ! He was telling stories . He wasn't Billy and was really only about 3 years old when Billy was shot . He lied about his date of birth . It looks like Billy the kids Gang.. and that is extremely rare. All the way to the right that is Doc.. right next to him is dirty face Steve. On your way left is Arkansas dave. And next to him is Charley. And in the middle is Chavez.. he was known to wear hats like that... but Billy is not in this pic.. this was before they met Billy.

This looks photoshopped... the figure on the far right looks too large as if he is standing closer to the camera, but it looks as if he is standing BEHIND the man to his right. Also, none of these men looks like Billy to me.
