27:10 answer : ) Given :- hight of an object :- h = 3cm Focal length of mirror :- f = - 12 cm Distance of object :- u = - 18 cm (i) = distance of image v = ? By mirror formula = 1/f = 1/v + 1/u 1/-12 = 1/v + 1/-18 -1/12 = 1/v - 1/18 -1/12 + 1/18 = 1/v -3/36 + 2/36 = 1/v -1/36 = 1/v So, v = -36 (II) = hight of the image :- h' = ? Magnification factor = m = - v / u m = - ( - 36 )/-18 So, m = -2 Also, m = h'/ h -2 = h'/3 So, h' = -6cm So according to me option (b) is correct...... Hack trick for the homework question here:- Given:- f=12 We know, Radius = 2f=24 Then the object is at between C and F and if object is between C and F The image will always be real and inverted and if object is real and inverted so v and height of image < 0 We all see in this question that only 1 option i.e, -36,-6 meet the proved condition so -36 and -6 is answer
