In our society a candidate from SC is not allowed to become Brahmin priest in temple even if he has potential to do so. But a son of a Brahmin is allowed to become a priest in temple even if he is less potential than the SC candidate.. Is this your equality waahh waah.. why only Brahmin son will become priest.. So lets also have some exams for becoming priest in temples.. In every field exams should be held even in our caste system also.. So according to their potential of a person caste should be distributed.. according to the ability of a person must be determined as Brahmin, Khetriya, Byasa, or sudra and not by birth.. this equality..👍👍

RESERVATION IN THEORY OBC: 27% SC: 15% ST: 7.5% EWS: 10% Open: 40.5% GO PRACTICALLY ,UPTO WHAT %TAGE OF SEATS A PERSON FROM SPECIFIC CATEGORY CAN CONTEST: OBC= 27 + 40.5= 67.5% SC= 15 + 40.5= 55.5% ST= 7.5+ 40.5= 48% EWS= 10 + 40.5= 50.5 General (who dont come in any of the above)= 40.5% only In debate of reservation, most people dont know or knowingly don't want to discuss these things. And these "few avenues" or limited seats or opportunities are artificially made and given to prevail. Therefore, the problem tends to prevail indefinitely and so the reservations. In a single year, many thousands CR (approximately 10 thousand Cr) are spend for NEET, JAM, etc. If we invest such ammount in making good institute and providing good quality education, we don't need reservation at all. That would have been real progressed or progressive society. But, no, we invest money in coaching, but not in good quality education imparting institutions. In the same way, we do not create job for every citizen according to their skills. If jobs are available for every prospective citizen there is no such requirements. So, the reservation policy will go on most probably for indefinite time. When a teacher or professor get retired, that post is left vacant for many years. And in between, who ever comes out from that institute, become a deformed product. That is our truth. How can one expect Socio-economic equality in this country and in such scenario? And among such corrupt people, especially officials and politicians!

Ews is a gift to us the general student, admissions in India have never been on the merit but just the caste of the individual. Ews is a very good decision by the government. If people have problems with this specific reservation they should cry too for the SC St Obc reservation to be banned because that's equality.

Akash you missed a couple of important points: Firstly, reservation is not a poverty alleviation mechanism, it began initially for two reasons: a) to correct historical injustices, b) to uplift sc/st and improve their social and economic position Secondly, till now (before this judgment), reservation was given only if scientific data was provided proving: a) social and economic backwardness of a community and b) lack of reservation in that particular field Now, here lies the problem with ews reservation: a) it is provided to socially advanced class b) provided to a class that is well represented in all fields especially government jobs c) also, reservation was not based on sufficient statistical data: it is unclear how many members from the Upper Caste community are economically backward This judgment is not legally or logically sound. I think for uplifting upper caste poor individuals: poverty alleviation programs such as subsidises, housing etc (which are already provided by the government should be considered) Also, lastly: some judges on the bench are very conservative and are openly anti-reservation and have failed to uphold the rights of citizens on various occasions.

@@kumarexam4792 In many states, they are less than 10%. I am not sure, how 10% was decided. This is going to allow widespread income manipulation and EWS certification to fill up the 10%. The worst part is the observations are made without taking into consideration of representation instead of merit. Today the judgement is biased because the judges represent their minority upper class constituency instead of upholding the law. For example If in a college there are 100 seats of which 30 are reserved and 70 are general. Now if out of 30 seats only 40 backwards students give exam what will be cutoff. In second case there are 70 seats for open and 500 general students gives exam now imagine level of cutoff

Two points: First, Indira Swahney Judgement for 50 percent ceiling limit was delivered by a 9 judge bench. How can a 5 judge bench overturn a 9 judge bench decision? Second, why no one ever questions matrimonial sites which have caste based segregation of people? How can a society be called casteless when caste plays the most significant role in marriages. Ambedkar was right Endogamy is Caste and Caste is Endogamy. But there is no backlash against these matrimonial sites. Reservation is not the problem. The way the reservations are given is the problem. When a 1st ranker in Medical PG can't get a specialisation of his choice then everyone should agree the way reservations are given is wrong. One who lives in the farthest from all amenities deep inside the forest is an ST and also one whose family lived in the city for generations is also an ST. And we talk about equality by providing same reservations to both of them.

With all due respect, in Govt jobs, there is absolute disregard for a lot of meritorious students. If you look at the civil services 2021, only around 35% belong to the general category (around 700 seats). This is abysmal & obviously makes these govt exams, a Russian Roulette especially for a lot of deserving candidates of the general category. Hence we are witnessing increasing brain drain as well. I am not against reservation but 35% is too too too small for open or General category. The reservation has been a slippery slope & used by political parties to secure votes Hence from my personal experience, I suggest the general category to simply not pursue Govt jobs. Rather chose to shine in the private sector 👍 Histrorical wrongs need to be corrected through capacity building approach and not by penalising those who are willing to work hard & can add a lot of value to the economy/administration

Economic way of reservation is much more effective than caste system reservation. There are many General category students who belong to poor /middle class family who don't get any benefit, whereas many SC / ST students with good family income are getting benefitted. To note that their parents were also benefited some years ago, there children will also get benifits after some years. This is totally flop plan. Dr BR Ambedkar told that this reservation policy should be eliminated after 70-80 years but I'm not seeing any such chances in near future. This shit system will go on for ever.

EWS should be bottom 20-30 per cent people which is poverty like of India. They dont own house, have no agriculture land (even average land holding in India is on 2.5 ) they can't be above average,

No matter their annual income is even 1 lakh or they are barely meeting their ends meet !!! They're excluded from EWS. AND IN general category , not even 10% of people can meet requirements of EWS , coz they atleast have an ancestral home inherited from forefathers.

@@deepak62064 Learn to study data and not draw your own conclusions. 1000 carpet flat in Mumbai would cost you 1.5 crores in Dahisar to 8-10 crores in Juhu or Napean sea road. That is EMI of 10 lakh to 50 lakhs a year. All figures given by me were based on data published by Indian government.

Hey aakash I'll like to disagree here , Being from the middle class and in the general category with no reservations whatsoever I feel that reservations Atleast on the basis of archaic concepts of caste rob the meritorious of their deserving positions and opportunities. I have seen my fellow peers in school pay half or even less than half fees but commute to schools in chauffeur driven vehicles carrying bags which cost more than the annual school fees and having shoes which can be equated to the price of the average middle class salary. In my opinion reservations if at all existing should be capped at no more than 35% and should be only economic without any specifiers of caste class language or religion.

Well that is debatable, you might have seen such peeps and I am sure his/her parents must be a business man. Because, even though the reserved class do have advantage, there is a cap on the annual income. What the business man do is they show their annual income less than the capped annual income.

I think that everyone in the past has been oppressed by someone, so because of that logic, everyone should be given reservation, britishers exploit us irrespective oft their caste, creed and religion. so whyn't we demand for reservation in British parliament, colleges and jobs, whyn't we demand for a compensation for the atrocities we have faced because of them? If this is irrelevant today, then caste-based reservation too, is a bulls**t idea. EWS is fine but it's implementation is flawed. For example, an assistant professor post can be reserved for EWS, however an associate professor's post or professor's post cannot be allotted for EWS, as assistant professor's income is not less than 12 lakhs per annum 🤔

I once argued against reservation in humanities electives in college. The teacher at the moment pulled up Bharat matrimony and showed Ads with banners next to the profile "No SCs/STs" . When we countered the argument by these are specific cases, then she asked if we could figure out people's caste from one surname in our class, surprising we could, she also pulled out a study on marriage between that inter-caste which is surprisingly low SC/ST and general. She then solidified her stance in a country where everyone is poor there is social hierarchy in place when there is no economic hierarchy of stature. One generally doesn't shy away from the baisis when they are searching for a partner, it can be reflected elsewhere in other parts of life workplace daily interactions etc. I did feel it was a strawman argument then, but with all access to reservation isn't it beneficial to marry from between castes but low numbers can only boil down to stigma. She said something that day resonate with he ,in her words "the day we can't identify a caste by surname will be the day we should advocate for the removal of reservation, till then its the only tool that compensates minorities that are still stigmatized today". I do agree there are people exploiting the system, We can't shy away from the factor there a stigma against SC/ST in urban India still exists on a massive scale, just imagine rural India.

absolutely agree with you why aren't their more universities and more hospitals . In the end they put more reservation. introduce new quotas to gain votes and then most of the burden and stress fall on middle class general people. Because of reservation many people who are not capable or are not deserving get the seats in college's and job's which goes wasted .
