Great video I just got gifted a Red Sea reefer Matt but I am still hesitant on using it because I been you filter socks for 10 months now and I got into a routine of cleaning and checking out my sump if I have a Red Sea reefer Matt I would have to take out the baffle and I would not check on the sump so much but thanks for the video.❤😂🎉

Good point. Switching socks does make me check the sump multiple times a week, which is good practice. And yeah, that baffle removal business does not sound like fun to me. It can be done. But it always seems like a mess to do.

Get the smaller red sea 500 reef mat, cut those section of sump out and hang it on the front of your sump, it should fit. It will take abit of room but well worth it. Best piece of kit i've got, set and forget and replace the roll every 4 months

According to the dimensions, it’s 0.25” too large. I checked it out when it was released.

For the price of a roller mat can buy a lot of filter socks 😜 Throw em in the wash then dip in ro and dry, call it a day.

I've always used regular filter socks. I usually buy a case of them and wash the dirty ones, every month. Not sure if the Waterbox is a standard 4 inch sock. If it is, consider getting a case. Makes life easier. 👍

I’ve got half a dozen socks, but it’s definitely one of those things where another dozen wouldn’t hurt anybody. Haha. And yep, standard 4 inch. I’ve actually enjoyed getting back to the simplicity of that routine. Filter socks are just rock solid reliable, despite being a bit mundane!

I stepped back from rollers as well. Ironically I'm glad i went with the klirs in my sump originally which made it a no brained to just slide over to socks. After a while i even stopped using bleach when i wash them now

Yeah, the Klirs for vacation would be an awesome weapon to have in the arsenal.

Good ol filter socks. Same. I also removed my skimmer for weeks now as my nutrients bottomed out and theyre still low ;(

What MU are you using? I have trouble with dusty water at 225mu. Im thinking about bumping up to 300
