"MTG has layers" yeah and every other game wants what it has, we gotta start writing rules better

Could you clarify what happens if two of the same "set" or "flip" effects are applying at once? Will it just be whatever order they were used in?

If two effects are on the same layer ,ie set to 0atk then set to 2atk they apply in order that they were applied. So in the above the elestral would have 2atk . If it was set to 2 then 0 it would be 0 atk.

I'm a bit surprised why this game would pretty much duplicate the combat mechanics of Yu-Gi-Oh! (minus how battle damage works) but then do its own thing when it comes to stat changes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But... Stat changes in Yu-Gi-Oh! _are_ horribly broken. Forbidden Droplet Apollousa?

This makes all stat change calculations extremely trivial to calculate no matter the complexity, the only thing is stat +/- changes on a single swap feels wrong to new players. Pros cons

Yugioh's stat changes are not exactly well-managed lol

This is layers again

Its just stat...layers?

Yes, it's literally layer 7 from MTG Which is probably close to the best way to handle it tbh
