Can I just say that I LOVED the fact that Savathun and some of her Hive lightbearers were fighting with us. After reading the Books of Sorrow and the Witch Queen story, it felt right that she was there. It felt like she was there to avenge the Krill. Now I understand why the Traveler gave her the light. At the end of the day she’s still young Sathona, worried about the future of her people. She couldn’t make her own fate, because they were destined to live a short life. Her fighting the Witness is like her statement that we make our own fate.

Its the perfect ending. This whole expansion was about showing us the answer to our biggest question. What does the traveler want? And it wants us to make our own fate. Its always been in our faces. We have been JUST like the witness this whole time. Seeking answers and purpose from a silent god. Growing frustrated and angry at its choice to do nothing. To not choose for us. And the lesson all along was to choose for ourselves. All it wants to do is give us the tools to make our own way.

For example, the traveler doesn't understand why people worship it, it sees the light as a curse, which is why it tries not to give it unless there is no other way, it cannot comunicate with us, all it can do is show us dreams, and it thinks it properly conveys what it wants to say, so it doesn't understand why we don't listen. I’m an animator, and it’s because of your telling of the destiny story that I have followed this. I wouldnt be where I am without the love you shared with your knowledge, and I am eternally grateful. I also love the contrast the Witness and the traveller have here as opposite sides of this war; The witness is made of a thousand voices while the traveller has none, and the Witness’s design is overly complex while the traveller is just a solid sphere, and finally, the witness forces upon you its own choice to the point where you are foced into a decision, while the traveller leaves every option open for you, potentially giving you too many choices

Thank you Byf for all the stories and teachings over the past years. Look forward to what is to come. When I started my journey in Destiny about ten years ago, I had no idea where it would lead. I've been here for the highs and the lows; for all the "this game has no story" talk; and for all the "dead game" talk. I look at just the other night, where my fifteen year old daughter asked me to tell her about Destiny and asked if she could try it. She sat and watched a bit of the world first race with me (everyone stuck in the white room). When someone finally got to the Witness she was in awe at what he looked like. She even said to be before bed, "I wonder if those buttons on his robes mean anything". She was right. When the end mission came online, she came and sat and watched the fight and pointed out to me when she saw a cornerstone or a light pool in the chaos of the battle. As the Witness exploded she ask "Can I get a Steam account on my laptop to try this out?" She was six years old when I started this journey. Now, as we step into the unknown future, my little girl wants to join me on my adventure. What excitement she has coming; I've given her the link to the ten hour video so she can try and catch up. What a time to be a Destiny fan.
