I'm pretty sure Shiori knows what kind of fanbase she will get, every stream and video she does is well prepared(not saying others aren't, you can just see the extra effort by Shiori), and I bet she has a lot of input on the design of her goth gf model, creating a menhara image. Before holo, she has a long experience in the vtubing industry, she can handle it. On the plus side, Shiori encouraging novelites to make fanfictions are nice, forming a community to those who love to write.

I just don't have much time to watch streams (I do spent a lot of time on KZbin but it doesn't always match up with my oshis streaming, and even if they are sometimes I just don't feel like watching a vtuber stream at the moment. So yeah, I am also pretty unaffected by Vtuber's not streaming. Since I rarely watch them live anyway it hardly matters that they aren't streaming for a few weeks or something.

Fauna is my favorite hololive talent but I don’t have any personal attachment with her and I don’t identify myself as Sapling or with any of the fan groups. I focus on myself for most of the day and I try to use all my time and energy on my career which I enjoy very much. However there is limit to how much mental energy one can spend in a day and after concentrating on my work for 10+ hours each day, my brain becomes a mush and I just need something relaxing to help me rest. I don’t play games anymore although I used to play super competitively and I do like interesting podcasts or audiobooks but even that is sometimes taxing for me at the end of the day. I found ‘comfort VTubers’ you categorized provide the perfect content for this and Fauna happened to hit just the right tone for me. Truly bless her for doing such a great job but I don’t need to follow her around because I don’t need a lot and time is limited. I believe this is similar to the vast majority of her viewership but of course the extremes are the loudest as always. On other note, I enjoy her content but I don’t give anything to her except for few view count and likes. Very small proportions of the viewers who gift her money as ‘whalers’ are actually the people carrying the channel so that she can continue to do her job so they are indirectly benefiting all of us. If VTubers all go bankrupt and disappear, what would become of your own channel? Calling them ‘gigachads’ might be lofty even as a way of thanking them but labeling them as ‘mentally ill’ is even worse in my opinion when we are all trying to seek personal satisfaction in our own way.
