In this weeks’ episode, we explore one of the most unreal abandoned places in Portugal to date. Somewhere hidden in a rural town in Portugal, lies this majestic abandoned millionaire's mansion, with everything left behind. This incredible property used to belong to a notorious and well-known Portuguese count, who was part of a noble family. Why the building was left behind completely untouched remains unknown for us. Explore together with us, as we venture our way inside.

Count of Vila de Conde was a very important man in Portugal. He reached high ranks in the army and died at the age of 50. But I believe that this house has someone to take care of it I know where it is I am almost sure that someone is still going home 🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹

Just when you think you have seen the most stunning places, there’s this. It is spectacular. The different pictures and photos I would think are from different generations of the family. There is no doubt that the things inside that home are worth an absolute fortune and indeed some really need to be in a museum. Let’s hope this never gets robbed or vandalised. You are both so caring and gentle and it’s lovely to to see the respect you have . This was an absolute gem 💎 🌹

The best way to find out if a property is "abandoned" is to see if anyone is paying the property taxes. If the taxes are up to date, then it's not abandoned. But if taxes are delinquent not by just 1 year but for many years, then yes it's abandoned. Back taxes maybe too much, more than what property is worth.

I love the natural homes that haven’t been spoiled. The houses that have not been explored already by photographers, setting up scenes, are always the best. Do you think you will ever find a house with more bottles? Love your videos especially when we cannot go out because of the virus. I would love to watch some of your travel vlogs too, especially the countryside of these countries as I use a wheelchair and cannot get out easily.

In more recent times (from the 50’s onward, when life became more modernized) people who live in houses like this, rarely inhabit bigger rooms, only in festive times, or if they do it’s just the basic and it’s usually where they keep things from ancestors. This house in specific must have become a vacation house, shared by the descendants, but now there might be problems with inheritances. Time goes by and family becomes estranged as it gets bigger... Also, it’s usual to see collections of painted plates hanging on walls in Portugal. The man and woman in the portraits from the 18th century is D. João VI and D. Carlotta Joaquina, kings of portugal. You are very sweet and respectful. Thank you for your efforts and sharing. Keep on!!

True, and you can also see Queen D. Amélia and King D. Carlos I of Portugal in smaller portraits and Prince Luís Filipe above them. I really don't think that this house is abandoned. By the way, the pig is to roast chouriço in aguardente. :)

What an unhappy ending to an unbelievable explore. The mansion was outstanding, your delivery remarkable. Thank you for the tour of a place with furnishings I will never have the opportunity to see otherwise. These were definitely some of the most exquisite and valuable furnishings and it's a treat that you young men are so aware of the value of the antiques and china and crystal. I really enjoyed spending a little over an hour with you both. The mansion is my favorite of all the other favorites you have explored. The furniture, dishes, statuettes etc are all very special and some very rare. I love the tile work on the walls and wish you had spent a little time showing it. You did a superb job of showing so many details. I can well understand that you spent 4 hrs there. Bet (if you had time) you could have spent 4 days exploring all the little details. Wonderful find. Wow, what an Easter present for all of us. Thank you!

Hey Guys! October 2021 and I am watching this for the fourth time! Just to clear some little things: 21:46 - That pig is a chorizo pig burner. It burns only with alcohol 22:23 - The Creamer has the theme "Excelsior" is dated from late 19th century / early 20th century from the Real Fábrica de Louças de Sacavém - really expensive and rare theme. 27:45 - Only decorative, made of metal, very popular here in victorian era 28:14 - The ceilings we call it Coffin Ceilings 34:29 - That portrait on the wall with the yellow roses is Queen Amelia D'Orleans, married to Carlos I of Portugal. She was queen of Portugal since 1889 to 1908 when her husband, the king, was shot to death in Lisbon 37:12 - The portuguese crown of the last monarchs 39:45 - Here she is again. Queen Amelia D'Orleans and the king Carlos de Bragança (Carlos I) This was to show how loyal they were to the royal family. The pictures and frames were gifts to the nobles of that time. Hope to be of use. Hugs from Portugal.

Amazing condition! It's nice to see the old updates made over the years. The lovely wash basin. The older early 1900's electrical adaption with exterior wiring. The kitchen with a blend of old and new as in the stove. All the beautiful built in cupboards designed with keyed locks. The crack in the wall in the nursery was a hint of damage. I wonder if it could be converted for public showing. It would be worth it! I'd pay. There are people who might travel to see it.

The Blue Willow china was my mother's favorite. She also had the set. It came from Japan. The picture on the china tells a story. I don't think that the china in your video is that same story that my mother had. Hers was a picture of a young girl caring for a water buffalo. She had fallen in love with a young boy that her father disapproved of and he turned the boy into the buffalo. The brokenhearted young girl spent the rest of her life looking after the buffalo. I must say that I did not like the story and so did not like the china. I am not sure which family member ended up with the china but I am sure it is worth quite a bit by now as it would be about 80 years old. Thanks for showing these houses. I am impressed.

@Elizabeth McLean. I have a Blue Willow chinaware tray, has 2 birds, a beautiful house, boat and some trees. It made in England 1883. I'm antique lovers. The story is about a two lovers that the parents disapproval, one die and the lover commit suicide. And for the love the turn to two beautiful birds. Amazing... All in the house worth millions of money. The family should go back the house and pick up some furnitures chinaware then do and auction. They are mostly antiques. Anyway thank you Explomo and your team's to show me all the abandon house. Thank God both of you guys are safe. You know in other country imprisonment is the worst one. 24:42 Explomo you know I love fireplaces, but this one blew my mind! Never seen this type of style or design. Maybe Medieval Gothic? This is the style I would get. The Crest looks weird with the UK Crown Lion on the far right? There must be another piece missing, maybe removed to hide the family's identity, probably the family needed to be Relocated for their own protection. Hoping they are all well and safe from harm.

Hello! The style is Estado Novo as we say in portugal "Salazarista" referring to our dictator Salazar. It was the style it was in vogue in during his regime and expanded by public building across the country. It looks from 1930 to 1950 or so. They had it redone or built on that time frame. The crest is (I think) of the counts of Figueiró, a family really closed to the Royal Family in Portugal by the time of king Carlos I. The crown and the lion are symbols of the real importance of the family. The shape of the crown is important as well. Hugs from Portugal, Flávio

so cool! Thank You! The blue and white transferware china is english 1820's. The round fancy art on the wall is a relic. All the little parts are made from Parts of Saints! Extremley rare. Most of the stuff in this house is a treasure!

I think this was your find of all so far. What a gem of a house. There were so many things you couldn't possibly see everything. I will have to watch the video again just to see what I missed. I was in awe of the paintings throughout the house. All those wall cuboards were so neat, everyone having a key to unlock it. At the end, when I realized you had abruptly stopped filming I was scared you had been caught. Please guys be more careful. You got just a little careless with taking flash photos so close to the street. Who knows what the police would have done to you? You were trespassing. You must take more care to be descreet. Fantastic video. My husband and I were absolutely on the edges of our chairs watching your every move in anticipation. Thank you for taking us on this unbelievable journey. Frank & Barb 🇺🇸

What a beautiful explore for you lads..it’s nice to see some her so untouched and there are some beautiful Ornaments in that locked cabinet..You would only display the bowl with the angel on as it’s no doubt very old and expensive to replace too..Most of the pieces in there are worth a lot of money, maybe about or poss a bit more than you guessed. There was some gorgeous old antique pieces of furniture throughout too..Great find..I hope your friend was not too badly hurt and is on the mend ..Stay safe lads 😀

That was a very common sewing machine, it wasn't for the wealthier. Singer was the premier sewing machine company until 1980, when they shut their plant in Elizabeth New Jersey in the USA. Issac Singer fell madly in love with Isadora Duncan and was devastated when she died in a freak choking accident while driving!

He was not from a Portuguese Noble family , his name was José Fernando Carneiro Leão and he was the Count of Vila Nova de São José , Empire of Brazil. He married a Portuguese woman and that might have been their house in Portugal but they probably lived in Brazil because their noble titles were from there and their trades and businesses were also there. pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Fernando_Carneiro_Le%C3%A3o

@@leito1257 He was Royalty in Brazil not in Portugal , there is and never was a title of Count of Vila Nova de São José in the Portuguese Royal House , he could not trade or have noble titles in Portugal. Emperor Peter I of Brazil was Queen Maria II of Portugal father and he could not attend Royal or public events , Peter I was only allowed to move from Paris to Lisbon , where he died , when he got ill but he lived hidden from the guests eyes in a backyard Pavilion of Queluz Royal Palace. Like the Brazilian emperor they were not welcome because they were slave traders. pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Fernando_Carneiro_Le%C3%A3o Portugal was ruled by the Royal House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha that like the British branch became very touchy about slavery , for them the Brazilian relatives brought nothing but shame to the family due to the slavery and Peter I life style. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Saxe-Coburg_and_Gotha There was no Count of Vila Nova de São José in Portugal . Here the Countships of the Portuguese Royal Houses of Burgundy , Avis , Braganza and Saxe-Coburg and Gotha en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countships_in_Portugal There are pictures of Queen Amelie of Portugal in the house and that means that the last persons that lived there were the Count of Vila Nova de são José grandchildren or great grandchildren.
