Hi Bob and Jenny a fabulous video and love Blists Hill we have been many times over the years it used to be you could buy your ticket as a passport and you could visit all other sites in the iron bridge gorge over the years which was good as there is so much history all around there The iron bridge and Jack field tile museum were also interesting It’s a great day out and love seeing the people in character and the shops and changing into old money at the bank If you are ever my way the Black Country museum is very similar and a good day out! Glad you all had a great day out and must go again soon myself! All the best Daniel

I love places like that not been there though. Someone mentioned the iron kerbs, i am sure they were for scraping mud off your boots ( as the roads could get very muddy) could be wrong?

Thank you for the tour, not somewhere we have visited but will add to our list. The “pie” in the kitchen near the hot cross buns was a Simnel Cake which is traditionally eaten at Easter time. The top and the little round balls are made of marzipan which cover a spiced fruit cake.

That brought back some memories. I will have to get Lindsay to sit down and tell the story of Craig's day there. They had just started building the Spry on that visit. I think I need to go back LOL. Thanks Bob and Jenny, did you leave Glynn at school?

I assumed they were to protect the paving bricks from the metal cart wheels? But I don't actually know? Hopefully someone with the knowledge will tell us.

Thai has taken me down memory lane. I didn’t realise Jenny worked for a bank. I worked for one for 18 years. (Our branches quiz team was Where Eagles Dare) 23:16 We always used to go in the pub as legend in our family is we are related to the Banks’s brewing family (my maiden name was Banks). It’s probably not true 😂. They didn’t have the scary train line or the post box collection last time I went. We have a picture taken there back in 2002 ish with Steve, our children and me all dressed up. It’s still one of my favourites. Take care Gill

Hi guys congrats on the motorhome, so funny I thought oooh a quiet cabin ...then realised you'd bought a new one 😅 Just about to go from a caravan to motorhome this week and was concerned about engine power, when I heard you mention the power improvement it intrigued me. What was the power of the previous Motor. My purchase is 150hp which is ok I hope with 3.5T max weight on 7.38 meter. Hope u can get back to us on that. Have fun

Our previous motorhome was 150 bhp and it was good for that.

@BobEarnshawMoHo ah , thanks for the reply, well at least we aren't getting the 130bhp I suppose. Just the weird comfortmatic gearbox to get our heads around now. Funny the little touches you do to your wagon that you suddenly remember when you say goodbye to them. Sure you'll be making some new touches on this one. Thanks

This is so strange. My late mum knew a lady that moved to Neath from that area and she used to take the toll on the iron bridge. I met her via my mum many years ago, she has passed away but she loved her job. I can’t remember her name for the life of me. Great video.

It's very similar to Beamish museum
@BobEarnshawMoHo
@BobEarnshawMoHo 3 ай бұрын
Except that Blists Hill is just one period, around 1900 and Beamish has several areas in different ages, 1820's, 1900's, 1940's and 1950's.

Jenny : get Bob to take a hearing test. Bob: GET A HEARING TEST. Hi both joking apart are you editing your videos with headphones on,just wondering because sometimes the sound volume and quality is a bit all over the place. Nice vids.thanks
@BobEarnshawMoHo
@BobEarnshawMoHo 3 ай бұрын
No, I don't use headphones. Premiere Pro has a 'loudness' feature, which I tend to use for speed of editing. It doesn't always get it right as it sometimes amplifies the background sounds. I should hire a sound crew shouldn't I? 😀
