We Spend 3 Days exploring Alaska- Staying at Alyeska Resort and Driving Highway 1!

After the Iditarod, we knew we wanted to see more of Alaska, but winter driving was a little too risky! So, we headed up to Alyeska Ski Resort and camped out for 2 days taking in the amazing views on the gondola ride!
After that we took a short drive down highway one to check out the views. Easy to say it was worth it! We stopped at Spenard Roadhouse once we got back to Anchorage and had a top notch bacon filled dinner before heading to the airport.

Yes we did! We checked it out on our drive back and it’s worth a stop. Great views along that drive too! Be prepared to stop a few times for pictures!!

hi! It was February. It was a great time to go, but hard to plan because you don't know when roads might be closed for snow. Totally worth it but you need to be flexible.

@@LauraOnTheMoveok, that's good to know, because I am going to be in Anchorage with my husband in Feb 2024. We are planning on spending three nights at Alyeska but neither one of us ski. I am very much interested in going to the Nodic Spa though. Is there anything else in that area that we should consider visiting?

@@LSTAR06 We're heading up for a few weeks over fur rondy and heading to Alyeska too! Just a day trip though along with the wildlife area, whittier, and depending on the snow.. a walk to portage glacier. The tram ride itself is worth the trip for the vewis! I went in summer a few years ago and am looking forward to seeing the northern lights this time around! Enjoy your time!
