Most underrated fishing channel on KZbin. Interesting to see how much farther along in spring we are here, the trout are moving on and all I've been catching is rock bass, blue gill and a friggin' gold fish.

Thanks Steve! This footage is from early last week so the leaves are really starting to come in now. I’d like to go back to some of these spots now that it’s warmed up, unfortunately there’s a lot of wind in the forecast the next week and the pike and catfish are calling me too.

That pretty much sums up my early spring around here. Lol. I do a ton of hiking and fishing in our wildlife refuge and I get skunked a lot early in the year. Things have warmed up here in southern Oklahoma and I can actually catch some fish! Glad to see that even great fishermen like you struggle from time to time. Enjoyed the video!

Matt: Love your content. I fish vicariously through you. Unfortunately, because of rheumatoid arthritis, can no longer fish. From Ontario, (currently living in Tennessee) and spent most of life fishing northern Ontario lakes. My PB for largemouth is 7lb. 11oz. PB for smallmouth is 6lb. 4oz. and primarily did evening fishing using top water (hula popper). Wish I was able to join you some day.

Growing up in PA in the 60s-70s, there was only one nesting pair of bald eagles in the entire state. They've made a remarkable comeback. Still, my heart skips a beat when I see one.

Telescoping rods are underrated. I have fought in monsters on tiny rods with Spiderwire more times than I can count. Some wise company should send you a higher quality rod to use, but it's cool watching someone try one at all. I use them in my travels quite often. So much so, that I have a set for freshwater and a set for salt.

This guy is an absolute classic! And, there was also this kind of weird, eerie vibe, reminiscent of a fishing version of The Blaire Witch Project going on as well...especially with all those still-bare trees he was trudging through, even including a "Ghost Tree"...too bad he didn't hook into a jumbo-sized crappie, or two...I really wanted to see that Walmart Eagle Claw telescopic rod prove its mettle!
