Fun fact: almost every Araki non JoJo manga has been physically published in Italy. Especially Baoh, Gorgeous Irene (including Poker Under Arms, Say Hi to Virginia and Outlaw Man), Cool Shock BT and Under Execution Under Jailbreak (including Dolce Die Hard the Cat, Dead Man's Questions and At a Confessional) were republished in an Italian only 4 volume release named Hirohiko Araki's Bizarre Universe. Koichi is a relatively prevalent name in the Shounen genre, given the "ko" character which can mean young man and the "-ichi" which signifies their innocence/them taking charge of the story that they're in. come to think of it, "-ichi" is a pretty common ending to Shounen names, too

I feel like boah is one of the biggest pieces of evidence that araki inspired a lot of resident evil content. Elements of the boah manga are just so similar to the resident evil series. -giant spiders. -an evil organization using science to make monsters. - a giant mutated great ape which reminds me of the cut enemy type from resident evil 2. -just like with boah there is a psychic girl that can detect threats who helps Barry Burton in resident evil revelations 2. At the moment, these examples stick out because i know capcom took a lot of inspiration from araki with street fighter.

Hideki Kamiya has officially said that Joseph Frost was named after Joseph Joestar, in RE2 you can also find "JoJo" written in a locker. More proof that everything is a JoJo reference.

With how sensational JoJo is right now I'm surprised we haven't gotten more official translations of Araki's other works. I know the JoJo manga will take a long time but so many of the other stories are so short that publishing them in English wouldn't take nearly as long and can be done in the meantime. (Also I really really want to read the books Araki wrote about movies)

Holy shit, I thought I was the only one who made that connection. I've even tried imaging crossovers and wondering how well it would work if it was written by a collaboration from Morrison and Araki as both can write some pretty bizzare and strange things. Hell, I have even imagined making a retrospective of Doom Patrol similar to Linkara's and some things I imagine are adding Jojo references for jokes like for instance when Yankee Doodle Dandy shows up in Morrison's run I'd have a Stand Profile of him show up since his name does come from a song like stands in Jojo. I am happy to see more people making the comparison, both are pretty bizarre, strange but all around awesome.

@@HayatoStarGod I'd recommend the comics as someone who's been collecting them and as far as I am aware, I have every run of Doom Patrol so far. Jojo is definitely better written but Doom Patrol is still pretty cool and has some pretty bizarre things itself. Two things that come to mind for me that I really like are two villains, Animal Vegetable Mineral Man who can turn into any animal, vegetable (plant) or mineral and The Quiz who has every power you've never thought of, basically meaning she has a power until her opponent thinks of it so she can fly, until her opponent calls out flight and then she loses it so a fight with her is basically playing a guessing game of what powers shes using and she uses some unique ones.

there is a character named Neo Dio from a video game series called world heroes by SNK. there's three facts about him, the first is his first name Neo is a name after neo geo console that held all of SNK's games, the second fact is the Dio part of his name is based on Dio Brando from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and the third is his design is based on boah from Araki.
