Considering it's winter, those warmer places can feel better, such as Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan Province. But all things wither, the scenery may not be as beautiful as the winter scenery in the three northeastern provinces.

To give you a recommendation of the five ancient cities in China, it refers to the five ancient cities with a long history and the best preserved in Shandong Taierzhuang, Sichuan Langzhong, Yunnan Lijiang, Shanxi Pingyao and Anhui Shexian Huizhou. The five ancient cities have a long history and are famous historical and cultural cities in China. Among them, the ancient cities of Taierzhuang, Lijiang, and Pingyao, are World Heritage Sites.

Actually, there are many hidden gems in Qinghai, which are not that famous like where you travelled already there and less tourists as well, then I would highly recommend Qilian, well known as wonderland of god. the other one is Amne Machin, located in Guoluo Tibetan Area, Qinghai. The human culture and landscape there are just simlpy original and breathtaking, for sure you would had a good time there.
